A welcoming neighborhood restaurant on the edge of Boston’s West End, Alcove is filled with comfortable American fare with a New England seafood flair & great cocktails from hospitality veteran Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli. Both the airy dining room and large patio look out onto the Charles River & provide spectacular views of the Zakim Bridge. A stones throw away from the Garden, and within walking distance of the North End, Paul Revere House, Faneuil Hall, Freedom Trail, Downtown, Charlestown Navy Yard, USS Constitution, Tea Party ships + museum, Haymarket, Boston Common, Beacon Hill, State House, ferries, & the Greenway.

Just discovered this fantastic place. It’s not easily visible so definitely a hidden gem. We ate outside on the large terrace with a gorgeous view. Service was excellent although I can’t remember the gentleman’s name. We liked everything we ate: corn soup, chicken cooked under a brick - even some monkfish Milanese. Drinks were very good too. Delicious cookies and ice cream for dessert. It was a great meal and we will be back!

Great food and service! The patio looks great but was too windy for us on this visit. Inside was great but it does get noisy. We will be back for sure as the staff could not be nicer! Great wines and food!

We dined here before a Bruins game and it was the perfect spot. It’s a great place to get good quality food whether you are going tj TD Garden or not. The blue crab dip, kofta, and bib lettuce salad were stand outs.

We haven’t been to Alcove in a while because we moved away from the neighborhood. And Boy had we missed it! This visit reminded us why we always loved it so much! We had an incredible evening! Our waiter Andreas took wonderful care of us. And Marrisa made us feel like VIPs! The place is beautiful as ever, the food incredible, the surface outstanding. Tom continues to run one of the nicest restaurants in Boston! Thank you all for a magical evening! we promised her to wait this long next time!

We enjoyed our dinner before the Bruins game. The food at Alcove is always excellent and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable about food allergy concerns which is important to us. Service is always quick and they’re very conscientious about getting us out on time for the game

Great night with great service! The cheeseburger is genuinely to die for and the sever was knowledgeable and patient. The martinis are also delicious.

Service was overall fine- a bit of a wait for server to take the order. Food came out fast and was nice and hot. Extremely limited menu and in city Boston expensive. Convenient to TD garden and their bag storage fee is $10 less than the Garden.

Something for everyone at Saturday brunch -- breakfast eggs with great homefries, lunch sandwiches with amazing french fries. Wonderful service and welcoming atmosphere rounded out a five-star experience.

Came in before a Celtics game. Excellent food but the bar is very slow with cocktails. If you want to get your drink to actually enjoy with your food, order wine. The wait staff pour the wines themselves and they will arrive much faster.

We had a reservation for Easter brunch, and upon arrival saw that the bar was empty, so we decided to sit there instead. Friendly bartender greeted us and offered drinks promptly. Ordered an asparagus strudel off the brunch specials, and it was outstanding. We both got the scrambled egg plate for our mains. The plate came out looking great except the bacon was not cooked. Just limp bacon not living up to its potential. I would’ve told the bartender but he never came over to check on us after our food was dropped. Would come back and try a meal again though.

Highly recommend! Went before a TD Garden event so it was perfect location. Had brunch and loved the brunch menu. Food was excellent, service outstanding, and they did nit rush you to leave when done. Will definitely go back! J

What a fantastic pre-TD Garden event venue; the service was absolutely terrific, a very knowledgeable staff. The Food, only one word describes it; yum!!!!. I highly recommend the Duck, the cheese plate, the Shishito Peppers and the overly delicious Brussel Sprouts. I highly recommend Alcove to anyone who wants to be able to sit down and have a great meal and conversation; I believe we were lucky where we were seated; the other side was a bit more lively.

Overall had a good experience, food was great, service was good. The young man at the door couldn’t make a decision as to where to seat us because we were a little early for our reservation so we ended up at the Bar which is fine but I had to make that choice for him. And I know this part isn’t your fault but there was an extremely loud group which made it hard to hear your staff. Anyway we will be back.

Location fantastic. We would have expected better food for the price, though. I ordered a sirloin medium rare and it was almost well done though very tasty. My partner ordered the radiatori, the pasta was overcooked. Okay, maybe we are too picky…Then arrives the dessert: apple crumble. So sweet, too sweet, far too sweet, almost unbearably sweet. And the crumble: some granola arranged over apple cubes. Good try for re-inventing the classics, but we are not there yet. I wish I had a simple not fancy grand ma’s crumble… I don’t think we’ll come back

Popped in 5 minutes before opening (normally I would never do this but needed to get our toddler out of the cold) received smiles from the staff as opposed to the usual dirty looks (which are understandable). Our server was very friendly, recommended some dinner cocktails as we weren’t feeling the brunch offerings. Appreciated the coloring page sticker setup for the youngin’. The turkey club was a little bit disappointing, was hoping for the classic 3 slices of bread golf course clubhouse set up. Also the first bathroom on the left wouldn’t lock which is a little awk. Watched a lady get walked in on in the second stall on the left too, not sure if that one is also broken. But all in all good experience pre Disney on ice!

We were there on a Monday night so it wasn’t crowded. Food, wine, and service were all great. If you have the money to spend on a meal like this, you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful staff and food with a great ambiance and atmosphere. Took my girlfriend here after a bruins game for Valentine’s Day. Will definitely return

My wife and I and son came to Boston from Phoenix and Denver respectively to attend a Bruins game. Having been to Alcove recently for work, my wife suggested we return. Unfortunately, our experience fell woefully short of expectations. My wife and son both had sirloins and I had the monkfish. The steaks were bland and under prepared and smashed potatoes not the mashed potatoes they were expecting. Similarly, my monkfish was dry and tasteless and the accompanying salad composed of unfamiliar vegetables. Certainly wish our dinner could have met with our expectations.
