Alara's staff were very nice and welcoming from the woman who opened the main door, to the hostess, the bartender and our server Kat. The ambiance and decor, while not formal, was sleek and "swanky"! Be sure to come hungry! We did not realize their menu focused on shareable dishes. We did share the BBQ Pork Buns which were delicious. My friend had the Caesar Salad which he said was very good. I had the Hearts of Palm salad which was a unique and tasty mix of fruit and vegetables. After the salads, we didn't have room for anything else. However, I was eyeing the Vegetarian Bolognese so I decided to take home an order of it to have the next day. It was wonderful!!

This was our 2nd visit to Alara. We are fans of Emery and Clyborne and are happy to add this into our mix of places to visit. Took our family for mother's day/birthday for husband. While it was much more quiet than it was on our last visit, it was the Monday after mother's day so to be expected. Amber was very lovely and staff was very attentive. Only complaint was leftovers were never brought to us. After paying bill I forgot to ask for the leftovers to be brought out and staff looked to be wrapping up for the evening. Not the end of the world, just feedback for future ref.

I am gluten-free, and we loved our first dinner on Mother's Day at Alara! Alara works hard to cater to people with food intolerances and allergies. No gluten goes in any of the fryers! Two of us split an app, large plate, one side, and one dessert, and my spouse got a cocktail, and dinner was only $104 w.o. tip. Very classy decor and atmosphere in the in the main room where the kitchen is, but noisier. Tables for 2 are all in the small room, which is quieter, but not as nice. Quieter was good for us, but I would like to go back in a group of 4-6, be in the main room, and share more yummy dishes! The passionfruit cloud dessert was unique and yummy. The Chicken Milanese was recommended to us by the server: It was GF-crispy, but under-seasoned and under-sauced. (Maybe because they were so busy?)

We went to Alara for Mother's Day, 2024 and had a very nice evening. The appetizers were great (carrot Hummis was shockingly awesome), the drinks were good, the Ceaser salad was fantastic, and the steaks were good (I will comment that two people ordered medium, and they came out as medium-well, but we did not complain) and I got the pork tacos, and they were amazing. Would return.

Hands down the best restaurant meal we have had in years. Service was exceptional. This was the first restaurant I've even been in that asked about food allergies and ensured we were safe.

Wonderful experience if you immerse your table in the shared dining experience. After going to Emery and SWClybourne, I was expecting a higher end same experience. Pleasantly not so, the shared idea with all the courses, the timing to enjoy it (they ask if you want to hurry or take the time per course) with so much Celiac/gluten friendly was amazing. You can start with a bunch of fun craft cocktails, several coming out with what looked like frozen with liquid nitrogen and brought out in a glass container to release the vapor. Fun. A few highlights of our courses - the lobster/shrimp appetizer was perfectly textured and freshest of fresh, the korean wagyu corn dogs are not to be missed (and GF patent pending), the caesar salad was more than our 4 could finish with fun parmesan croutons. Didn't love the vegetarian bolognese, the pasta just was too mushy/meaty but at the same time we had scallops that were to die for. Capped it off pork shank tacos that were so tender and flavorful with a make your own so all the sides could be done by each person's taste. Cleansed the palate at the end with the raspberry sorbet and the orange creamsicle desserts. Would get them again - sorbet very flavorful but needs a crunch, creamsicle so cloudy but needs a a slight more punch of flavor. Loved it. Recommend.

We ate here for Mother's Day lunch. Overall it was a great experience. Noshed on: Smoked Carrot Hummus- worth coming back for-excellent Tuna Crudo- bright and delicious Thai Shrimp- good Palm Salad- excellent flavors Chicken Milanese- really good; ours was a tad too salty but still good. Pork Shank Taco's- worth coming back for- excellent Broccoli & Cheese- so, so-cheese sauce was too runny for us.

Alara is fantastic. Very nice upscale restaurant. We enjoyed Slider buns for appetizer. Chopped salad was excellent, followed main course,The Pork Rack was Incredible.. Spices were encrusted on the chop, which sealed in juices. Espresso Martini for dessert was very nice!

My husband and I were really impressed with the ambience of this place. The food was fabulous! We had the Korean hotdog and the chicken. Had the best server named Caroline. We definitely plan on coming back!

We celebrated our anniversary, and it was a special night. The food was exquisite... both delicious and beautiful. I have celiac, and I had so many amazing options to choose from. Our server (Michelle) was very knowledgable and attentive. We plan to make many more visits to Alara.

The service was great. The seafood platter is on the side of the menu with the apps. We ordered that not knowing it was a main entree. And then we split the lobster rigatoni. Honestly shocked when we got the bill to see the market price for the seafood platter was $140. The pasta was ok. I really wanted to like it but it was really expensive for ok food. The ambiance was nice.

The ambiance and staff were delightful! The appetizers and salads were delicious. Unfortunately, three of the entrees were not cooked to the proper temperature and then it took a very long time for entrees to return from the kitchen making it an uneven eating experience at our table.

Cocktails were honestly to die for, we loved the smoked pear the espresso martini was one of the best I’ve ever had the Lemon meringue martini was our favorite! Our Server Amber was so great and informative, we started with the wagyu tartare and the hot dog great starters! We got both the chopped and Caesar salad the Caesar was so light and delicious one of our favorite dishes of the night!! Then we had the 8 oz filet, lobster carbonara, lobster gnocchi, pot roast agnolotti pasta, the pot roast pasta was so unique and had so many layers of flavors. The lobster gnocchi was the table favorite but I thought the carbonara was beautifully executed. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and the sauce sides is an amazing touch. our favorite was the truffle butter.

My wife and I had a world-class meal at this beautifully appointed restaurant. The staff was attentive and the executive chef went beyond the call of duty to regale us with his sumptuous cuisine. I can’t wait to return with guests from out of town to show off Cincinnati’s top notch food scene. Well done!

New restaurant so always need to get some kinks out. To be fair they are trying to get there. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the cost? No. I’m happy to pay for high quality and it’s not there yet. Steak was over temped (med plus versus med rare), fish tacos presentation was supposed to be innovative but looked more like fish sticks, maybe add a vinegar slaw as a topping with it, carrot app was great, dessert was great, service was good but average. Like I said they are trying but need to push it up a notch to create an “experience”.

Food was creative American and delicious. Atmosphere was great. Didn’t love the cocktail list, but great wine and liquor selection. Decor is modern. Took a bit to get our bottle of wine and a little too much time in-between courses, but probably still figuring it out. Will definitely go back.

We arrived as a party of 3 yet they tried to seat us at a round table for 6 (ugh). We asked to be seated at a table more appropriate. Service was slow to arrive but she she took drink orders when she came.The drinks took at least 5-6 min to arrive. Husband & son enjoyed their cocktails. My passion fruit mocktail was sweet but yummy. Server was wholly unfamiliar w/ menu. She had to keep running back to kitchen to ask abt GF items which is their specialty. We said we were all GF when asked by server. She recommended the carrot hummus & the manager recommended the tuna crudo. The manager recognized us from another of their restaurants & assured everything would be GF! They took 15-20 min to arrive…way too long as both cold apps. The carrot hummus was brought w/non-gf bread even after telling them we were GF! We had to wait 10 min for the flat chippy tortilla-like substitute even tho she said it’s served GF bread. We almost ate the bread they brought but luckily our son noticed something that tipped him off that it wasn’t GF! The tuna itself was good but the sauce was too citrus-y. It took away from the flavor of tuna.The carrot hummus was good but would have been better with bread. Son had filet & was good but his asparagus side had burnt garlic on top which destroyed any flavor of the dish. Husband had thai shrimp pasta which had very bitter peanut sauce & was not flavorful. The shrimp on top were plentiful and tasty. I ordered the HOP salad which was mostly julienned peppers and carrots and discs of heart of palm. It was refreshing but not spectacular. My dinner was the side of gnocchi with lobster. The cheddar cheese sauce was incredibly salty and detracted from the overall dish. The GF gnocchi were light and the lobster was acceptable. All in all ambience was nice, menu was underwhelming, food was mostly mediocre, and service was very undertrained. Too expensive w/lots of issues. I would definitely wait til the kinks are worked out of this one before returning

Nice restaurant but… took more than 20 minutes to get our first drink.. seem to not being able to handle speed in general because our food was also very late.. ordered the wagyu flight and came rare instead of medium rare as they said.. best accompaniment was the gnocchi with white truffle.. dessert is good… i hope this place works on their timing as it can make a big difference..

Our third visit since they opened just a short time ago and once again a wonderful experience. This for US is a true dining experience-no “ rush through dinner and get out”. If you are looking for a 30 minute start to finish, I highly suggest going elsewhere! THIS is DINING! Enjoy a cocktail, then a well paced dinner. We would normally order each course all together but were dining with elderly parents who weren’t sure what they wanted. This trip we tried the Korean corn dogs( yummy) and the shrimp and lobster “ cocktail “- it was lacking in quantity of lobster for the price was our only complaint. We had to get the Caesar salad which is a MUST and it served 4 adults easily! The lamb chops were prepared to PERFECTION and we tried the mashed potatoes which had a perfect amount of potato texture, not mushy at all. I couldn’t resist the scallops AGAIN and they were so delicious and LARGE so I was able to share. Absolutely loved our visit and can’t wait to come back and commit to trying different dishes next time! Well worth the price for US for a date night, special occasion. But can also make this a cost effective experience easily by sharing-see you all very soon

Service was excellent (Maddox was our main server), the restaurant, kitchen and bathrooms were all spotless. The food was fantastic. We ordered scallops, filet, fish tacos and lamb. All were cooked perfectly. Every detail was paid attention to. We will be back.

We loved our first visit to Alara! Upon entering, we were surprised by the size of the restaurant. Most of the décor was neutral but warm and inviting. The only ambiance "issue" we had was that the music was rather loud, and we always prefer instrumental music when dining unless viewing a show. Our server, Maddox, helped us navigate the menu and shared some personal favorites. We decided to split everything (except dessert!). We started with the carrot hummus. It was very good, and the bread was the perfect accompaniment. I was worried that a carrot hummus would be too sweet, but it was wonderful and I especially enjoyed the peppers and the crispy chickpeas inside it. It was a nice-sized appetizer for 2 people, and did not overfill us. Next, we split the hearts of palm salad. This was a refreshing mix of matchstick veggies in a light dressing that was crunchy and fresh. We were feeling quite virtuous enough to order the pork shank tacos for our entree. The pork was outstanding, so flavorful, tender, and juicy. Every bit was loaded with flavor when adding the salsa and other toppings on the delicious and soft corn tortillas. This entrée could definitely feed 3 or 4 people (especially when enjoying other courses), so we took almost half of it home. We both enjoyed drinks with our food; the cocktails were very interesting, and I especially liked the "life is a peach and then you rye". I also enjoyed the list of wines by the glass. Finally, we got 2 desserts to try and take the rest home. Little did we know that the desserts are also designed for more than one, both of them coming with 2 of each! We split one of each and took the others home. Both the strawberry and the creamsicle desserts were beautiful and delicious; I was partial to the strawberry one and my husband preferred the creamsicle. The service was very attentive, and we were checked on by more than just our server. Overall, an outstanding experience!!

Great place to take several people since all dishes are meant to be shared. We enjoyed the lamb chops, H.O.P Cakes and lobster / pea carbonara. The desserts are pieces of art. Will be recommending to friends!
