Akbar's established in 1995 with 12 branches in the UK now opens it's doors in Blackburn with the most vibrant interior design located at King Georges' Hall. Authentic curry at it's best open from 5pm Monday to Sunday. Come and try our signature lamb chops, karahi dishes, giant nan bread and a very carefully selected choice of wines, beer and spirits. Not to forget our range of mocktails. Why not celebrate that special event in style by booking our VIP room accommodating up to 16 people.

Lovely place, decor is good and overall clean. We were welcomed and our table was ready on time. The food was good, plenty of choice and although not large portions they were more than sufficient. However our main issue was being rushed, our plates were taken away before we had hardly finished, some of my naan was removed but we were not asked if it was done, all so quick didn’t get chance to complain. We were then presented with the bill though we hadn’t asked for it at that time, we weren’t asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. Just surprised at being rushed, got the feeling they wanted our space for others. Three drinks, poppadums, 2 mains, sides and we were out in 40 minutes! We were thanked for visiting when leaving but will think twice before visiting again due to being rushed.

Food was excellent as was the service. Big shout to the waiter Jang that was attentive and helpful...however, prices are way too high...

It’s my 2nd visit in a few weeks, the service was excellent, I booked our table through open table and despite many people waiting before us, only waited a few minutes for our table to be ready. The atmosphere was lively but not noisy, decor is excellent, staff were friendly and professional. Although the food was excellent the prices were way too high for the portion sizes. The cheesy kebab was £7 for just one and the chicken tikka again for just a few pieces. We ordered a chicken charsi which was excellent but again the portion size was modest. The total bill was more than £70 for just 2 starters main course and 2 nans and drinks. Apart from that the overall experience was positive and will definitely return.

Customer Service was very poor, they don't know how to talk to people and respect people. Very strange mentality even they work for hospitality. They suggest the dishes which is not selling much and make Customer disappointed. When Customer ask something they talk like arguing. Very unprofessional man was taking the order. Cleared the table without asking even before finishing my starter. Naan was good but curry wasn't taste nice ,

Food great but waiting to be seated and for drinks to arrive not great. It felt very rushed and pushed out after eating.

Me and my family went too Akbars in Blackburn at around 5pm We got asked to sit in the waiting area for 1 minute and then we were seated, the restaurant looked amazing inside and everything was very clean and done to a high standard We were greeted by Jang who was our server, top guy very funny and made the whole experience even better. We didn't order starters on this occasion and went straight for mains, the curries we ordered were fantastic packed full of tender meat and tasted amazing, if you like kormas and very mild curries with little to no spice try the Makhani you won't be disappointed, if you like a good spicy kick I really enjoyed the chicken karahi We got a family naan which was absolutely huge and was served on a big metal stand Tried a cheesecake for desert too and it was the perfect end to the meal Everything about Akbars was 10/10

We enjoyed our first visit to Akhbar’s. The food and service were excellent, the staff were super attentive and the Chicken Chesni was our favourite curry. The Family Naan was big enough to suit all the bread lovers in our group. We had bottled beers and a dry white wine.
