Located in Lexington’s Historical district Akame Nigiri and Sake offers an un-traditional Omakase experience. Akame Nigiri and Sake will be offering a 15 Course Omakase for $180 per person. The Omakase focuses on Japanese Seafood flown in directly from Toyosu fish market. While seated at our 6 seat Omakase Bar, guest will be able to enjoy a semi-private Omakase experience skillfully crafted by Chef Michael Monaco. Seating's will be held Thursday through Saturday at 6:15pm and 8:30pm. All Allergies and food aversions must be communicated 72 hours in advance, so we have time to make adequate changes. Due to the nature of the meal touch sensitive Shellfish and Crustaceans Allergies cannot be accommodated.

Akame Nigiri and Sake is offering a fifteen course semi-private Omakase experience. You will be seated at our six seat Omakase counter where you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of Japanese fish prepared in a creative way. Omakase Seating’s are 6:15 and 8:30pm Thursday-Saturday. All Allergies and food aversions must be communicated 72 hours in advance, so we have time to make adequate changes. Due to the nature of the meal Shellfish and Crustaceans Allergies cannot be accommodated.

Amazing omakase experience! I enjoyed this more then the very well reputed Boston omakase, and at a fraction of the cost. So convenient to the suburbs, right in Lexington. We will definitely return!

This was an amazing Omasake experience in Lexington. Chef Mike prepares all of the sushi fresh in front of you. He is committed to pushing himself to create unique and different flavors. Definitely the best omakese we've had in the Boston area. Could not recommend more if you want great food with a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.

Quite simply one of the best meals of my entire life. A masterful omakase experience that rivals and even surpasses masters in New York and even Japan. Get your reservations in early, come hungry and open minded, and experience something wonderful.

Our second time at Akame was just as sensational as the first! At many restaurants, even the best ones, they serve the same dishes over and over. Probably makes most sense economically to do so. But Akame is a much smaller scale intimate dining experience that allows chef/itamae Mike to change the sushi offerings according to what's in season which gives him new opportunities to apply his creative genius. We are so lucky to have a special place like Akame. Looking forward to going again with the changing of the seasons.

Second time here and will be back. Went for anniversary, came back for the food. From my experience growing up in a seafood retail/wholesale family, the quality is top. Can't wait to go back. Had Fall and Winter seasonal items and looking forward to the next season.

As always, Chef Mike did an outstanding job. His dishes were incredible and a delight. He effortlessly accommodated my severe food allergies, which I am very grateful for. Can’t wait to come back! What an amazing experience.

Loved Akame and can’t wait to go back. Everything was perfect. I don’t eat octopus or squid and substitutions were perfect and the chef totally understood. What a gem!

This is a really special meal. Michael works really hard to make every piece of sushi interesting and delicious. All the fish comes from Japan, and though many of them may be from fish you're not familiar with, they are expertly prepared, and each has unique "topping" that perfectly complements the fish.

An outstanding dining experience! Chef/Itamae Michael is so talented. His imaginative garnishes for his sushi are perfect; delicately complementing and enhancing the flavor of the fish rather than taking center stage. He achieves a balance that is so much better than other places that we've been to that offer a modern approach to sushi. And while the approach is modern, the results take me back to some of the best sushiya in Japan. The food, Michael's personality, the small, intimate space all come together for a fun and special evening. Bravo!

Amazing dinner for a special occasion. A very intimate venue of only six seats at the counter, but this gives you a front row view to the preparation of the chef’s exciting and delicious creations. Primarily nigiri, he explained every one after its careful preparation. We shared the sake tasting, which I would also highly recommend.

One chef, six seats, that's it. You can hardly call it a restaurant, but Akame Nigiri and Sake is one of the best dining experiences in Boston. And if people ever find out about this place, you will need to make a reservation six months in advance. Michael Monaco is the owner and only employee, though he let me know his brother helps him out sometimes. Before starting a place of his own in 2022, he worked at Jasper White's Summer Shack and more recently at Uni under Ken Oringer and Tony Messina. Raised on the North Shore, he might not be what you expect in a sushi chef, but the man knows his fish which he sources mostly from Japan's Toyosu fish market. Akame is located in Lexington, just off Mass Ave, tucked away in a parking lot in little building that also houses a nail salon and a frozen yogurt shop. But when you walk inside, and sit down at the sushi counter, you might as well be in Tokyo. There are two seatings each night, 6:15 and 8:30, Thursday through Saturday. The cost is $180 for fifteen courses that includes mostly nigiri, but also A5 Wagyu beef and foie gras. (One course was we were served was Berkshire pork dumplings in a spicy broth which was good enough to build a an entire restaurant around.) For an additional $60 you can get sake pairings. That might sound like a splurge, but it is well worth it, and here's why. Most sushi restaurants are going to serve you primarily tuna, yellowtail, and salmon. Even o ya, the venerable Boston sushi mecca, allows those three fish to dominate their omakase. But Chef Michael presents you with truly unique and special fish, perfectly prepared and expertly garnished. I cannot say enough about how great Akame Nigiri and Sake is, but I'm not the only one. Every single one of the sixty-three Open Table reviews is five stars. Google Maps, seventeen reviews, all five stars. Yelp, all five stars. All of them. Every single review. And I agree completely.

A lovely experience. Very creative, fresh selections. If we lived close by we would absolutely go as frequently as the budget would allow. The categories provided don't really apply to this strictly omakasa restaurant so they are left blank

Excellent addition to the Lexington dining scene. Chef Mike and his brother Joseph were cordial, attentive and knowledgeable. The dishes are inspired and creative -- don't go if you only stick to edomae omakase, go if you are open to new flavors and influences

As someone who seeks out any and all omakase this is one of the best - if not the best - I’ve ever had. Creative. Highest quality. Divinely crafted. Wow! And the sake pairing is the best I’ve ever had. Well done, chef! Wow!

If you are seeking an extraordinary dining experience, this is it. Meticulous crafting of extraordinary Japanese delicacies. Phenomenal attention to detail, exquisite and creative, beautifully presented. You watch every course being prepared in front of you by a master. One of the best dining experiences of the last decade. Very special, very memorable.

I am from France and over there restaurants are creative and innovative. I have been having a hard time finding restaurants that offer something different. Most restaurants have pretty much the same menu. Akame Nigiri provided me with a unique experience, unique flavors. It's comes at a price but was a well worth treat for a birthday. I really think US restaurants need to take more risks and innovate more. Kudos to Akame Nigiri for offering such a unique experience. The sushi I ate there were simply the best I ever eaten and, I never ate those kind of sushis anywhere else. Innovative, unique, tasty and a great atmosphere. Easy to park. Try it.

Had a dinner to celebrate our 5 years of marriage. It was our first experience with an omakase and it was divine. The courses that were created just kept getting better and better. Well worth the money spent for delicious food and new experiences/adventures. Chef was friendly!

One if not the best sushi experiences my girlfriend and I have ever had! Mike is a most talented chef; had amazing skill and knowledge as he led us through the courses of fresh Japanese fish, wagyu and other sushi delights; each paired with innovative and exciting garnishes the likes of which tantalized our taste buds and broadened our culinary horizons. Every question was answered with expertise. Ambiance and Saki menu were also great. Id give more than ten stars if I could.

I’ve never been moved to write a review before, but this place is so over the top fantastic that I had to. From start to finish each, and every course is a marvel of flavors and technique. Mike is a master at combining unique ingredients and the highest quality fish to create an experience that’s like no other certainly in the area, but even extended surroundings. Everything was mouthwateringly delicious, including the Prosecco and sake we enjoyed alongside. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I hope he reaches the highest success with this endeavor and gets all the kudos he deserves. We’ll be back again and again - assuming we can get in after this review! Yum!!

Absolutely incredible meal, hidden away behind the main road in Lexington. Two seatings a night, maximum of 6 guests. Be prepared for a journey of unexpected sushi construction, all of which will be delicious. Also be prepared to make friends with your fellow guests. The chef is right behind the counter the whole time, walking us through the meal, explaining his thinking behind his creations, and taking part in the guest conversations. Definitely a place to return to again, and again. Zero hesitation behind leaving a review like this, I look forward to being unable to get a reservation because they're booked up. I don't get how this place isn't on every list. Go here! Have your mind blown! Enjoy!

Engaging and very enjoyable, “American Omakase” meal. The chef/owner is clearly all-in, knowledgeable and very personable. Interesting, unusual types of fish, very fresh-tasting, mostly Japanese-imported. As I’ve experienced elsewhere in Boston, the meal crescendos in rich late courses, as opposed to what I’ve had in Japan, which are more simple at the end. Requests for changes/substitutions were dealt with easily. All 4 of us who were at the dinner would happily go back.

I enjoyed my experience there immensely. The food was incredible, each course seemed to be better than the last. You could really see the level of skill and passion from the presentation to preparation of every course. I can easily see myself coming back as it was such a great time!
