A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Wednesday through Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Wednesday through Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

Collaborating with Koncept Designs, the tea room will undergo a breathtaking transformation, immersing patrons in a sensory journey amidst blossoms and blooms. The tea room looked absolutely wonderful with the Cherry Blossom. The food was out of the world and service was outstanding. I am so glad that I was able to enjoy this once a year celebration before flying home to San Francisco. This definitely made up my Mother's Day celebration which I missed because I was traveling.

Overall enjoyed the experience but did not meet my expectations. I had made a note on the reservation we were celebrating a birthday and the server did not acknowledge this with birthday candles or something similar. The tea service also did not meet my expectations as the server did not really guide us well in knowing how long to steep the tea, so our tea was very strong. The savoury food was 6/10 and the sweet food was 10/10. We were full before we could finish and happy to take the rest of it home with us.

The menu and appearance of the high tea food was subpar to to last years experience. Also the flavour profiles of the food were not very good, again last year’s menu, variety and aesthetic was far superior.

Setting is lovely, but the very noticeable scratches on the bare table top and worn china detract somewhat from the overall ambience. Food and service were very good!!

The room was the perfect ambiance, it was beautifully decorated and the atmosphere was tame. The food was so-so. The pastries were mostly good, the savoury food was alright, but nothing was horrible. The service was ok but nothing to boast about.

We went for the Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea. The food, service, and ambiance were amazing. One of our party had gluten-free requirements and the gluten-free biscuits were the best she’s ever had. Definitely recommend.

Was looking forward to the Cherry Blossom theme as had very good experience at same venue for Chinese New Year High Tea. Unfortunately food and atmosphere did not hit the same mark. Our server was good but be cautious to review the bill carefully to make sure no overcharges occur. We hope that the culinary experience can be elevated if we decide to go back in the future.

Excellent afternoon tea experience, food was amazing. My only wish was that there were more savoury options, honestly I would prefer fewer desserts if it meant more sandwiches. Scones were excellent.

I was 10 minutes late to arrive at my reservation for the sakura themed afternoon tea due to a crane reducing traffic on Howe to a single lane. Once I was seated, I was reminded of the 90 minute time limit for our 11:15 seating, meaning we had to leave by 12:45. I ordered tea right away and waited for the food, then waited some more. I began to wonder why the food wasn’t coming. Were we supposed to place an order? Wasn’t everyone else in the little room in the basement having the exact same menu? Our server was busy and I could not get his attention. By the time the food arrived, it was already noon. Half the time for this meal had elapsed. I managed to eat two scones when the server began handing out takeout boxes as a reminder that our time was ending. At 12:35, we were given a copy of our bill, and at 12:45, the maitre d arrived with the machine to process my payment. Had I known what a rushed dining experience this was going to be, I would have taken my sister elsewhere to celebrate her birthday. At $77 per person, I expected better service. We packed up our food and ended up eating the rest of it in the car. I’ll never forget this truly memorable meal.

Food was great, ambiance was great. Apparently my husband quietly told our server it was my birthday and our server said don’t worry he’ll do something special, and then he forgot. Didn’t bother asking again since it wasn’t a surprise anymore. Overall experience was great otherwise.

Overall we had a great time during our cherry blossom afternoon tea. A few things to note however, I don't feel the decor was executed that well. It felt very artificial will all the faux cherry blossom trees and cherry blossom wallpaper. It was very dark and dim, it would've been nice with a more brighter ambience. The food itself was pretty good, I would've priced it $10 less for it's value. I also hope in the future there is a better ratio for savoury to sweet. We couldn't finish half of the sweets as it becomes too much and were wishing we had more savoury instead for more balance. Overall, it was a good experience nonetheless.

Nice decoration- however, in a windowless, low ceiling room. Feels more like a dungeon. Food was less enjoyable as any other afternoon teas you can get in Vancouver. One cake stodgy, strawberry roll without flavour, others uninspiring.

This was an unbelievable experience for my daughter and I. From being led through the secret bookshelf door into a magical world of cherry blossoms, to the table settings and delicious tea and sweet and savory treats, it was such a special experience. I would recommend this 100%. Do not hesitate.

Great experience but the limited 90 min seating was not good for afternoon tea. Try 10:30am, 1pm and 3:30 pm instead and give guests 2 hour minimum.

This is a speakeasy for tea drinkers! Such an adorable venue! Really impressed with what The Fairmont has done for their afternoon tea lovers. The food was very good. The scones were light and delicious, as was many of their sandwiches and baked goods. Loved the strawberry pinwheel and the macaron. Didn’t care for the matcha financier nor the sesame butter cookie. I know they are trying to add Asian flavors but those flavors are more suited for savory goods. All in all the venue was special and the tea delightful. The only thing missing was some music-this is where Asian themed music would have been perfect.

Amazing novel experience. The art class and high tea concept worked out very well. The featured artist @Moomooi was amazing. She went around to every table to help and talk to everyone. And yes I will definitely attend another one of these

I wouldn’t recommend this as you only have a limited time for your setting and they are very strict about it so you feel rushed. I have been to numerous other tea places and never have experienced this type of behaviour including other Fairmonts.

My first time high tea experience and would highly recommend this location. Pleased that a second visit could be a different theme since they change every three months.

The decor, the service, the food, all outstanding. My first time experiencing high tea and what a memorable event it was. Did not feel rushed. There was a lot of food! Had to have two doggy bags. The chocolate tree!! Whoever thought that up? Brilliant. Loved every minute.

Felt rushed . The waiter took away the tier and it took away whole high tea setting atmosphere . Food was too clammed in each plates.

The tea room was decorated with many artificial cherry blossoms which created an ambiance of amazing beauty. The classic scone was the best I have ever eaten. The sandwich selection was delicious: it had spices used in creative ways. One flavor of tea is included. If you want another you must pay extra.

Simply amazing. The hidden tea room is beautiful and the decor in the theme is a wonderful surprise. The food was plentiful with lots of personality and flare. It was not cheap but it an experience that you won’t forget!!

There’s a strict 90 min limit which is quite rush for a close to $90 (w tax and tips) high tea experience. Everything is good until they kick you out with ur takeout boxes and bill in the middle of the high tea and started cleaning tables and vacuuming around you. Can’t really enjoy a full high tea in a 90 min setting. Would go somewhere else next time for a relaxing experience . Never been rushed for a high tea like this before.
