Fabulous experience Party of 3 2 had traditional afternoon tea with Prosecco & 1 gentleman’s afternoon tea - which was regular size cheeseburger, fries, slaw, scotch egg & pork pie! All obviously homemade, fresh & delicious. Traditional version was equally tasty, good selection of sandwiches- bread very fresh, sausage roll, cheese scone, plain scone with clotted cream & jam plus 5 wee sweet treats each. Excellent value for money. Server was delightful young lady -sadly didn’t catch her name but she was so cheerful & professional despite it being a very busy Sunday / Bank holiday weekend. Lots of parties of various sizes indulging in the afternoon tea, however it didn’t feel hectic/ busy and wasn’t at all noisy.

What a fabulous day we had celebrating 3 birthdays. The food offered on the afternoon tea was of top quality and the staff were very accommodating with a few additional requests Marcus made the experience even better with his attention to detail, outstanding service and brilliant sense of humour We will definitely return thank you

Sandwiches quite squashed, very hard to tell what was in them, couldn't even get them apart to see. However ,Scones were delicious, cakes were really very very average for the price, ambiance nice, felt very chilled out. Sofas need a scrub up,

Belated birthday- second time coming here! I enjoyed the atmosphere and service was very attentive! Afternoon tea was nice, only downfall was the scones! Still happy to eat them but overdone on the top otherwise no issues!

We both had the Gentleman's tea. Absolutely delicious. Have to say the standard afternoon tea looked fab too. Lovely and relaxing place to enjoy. Not rushed at all and great attentive service. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend

We stayed here for my wife's 60th and started the celebrations with afternoon tea which was extremely pleaseant and relaxing the whole experience was lovely, the staff was also very pleaseant, I would highly recommend this for a celebration or just a relaxing afternoon, would i stay here again absolutly yes and I'd deffo have an afternoon tea

Hi I really did not enjoy this experience at all There was only one poor waitress and she was rushed off her feet . We were literally handed the food and that was it no offer of extra drinks . This was not the fault of the staff on duty but possibly management not having enough staff on duty . Also having the reception next to where we are supposed to be having a nice afternoon tea we could hear all the conversations including multiple complaints. This was a gift of my daughter and son in law and it was a complete waist of their money .

There was a mix up with the offers. We upgraded and yet they tried to charge us full price. No great stood arguing with the manager who had changed over during our meal. It spoilt the afternoon.

A beautiful venue and the service was an amazing, the lady looking after us was very attentive (but not overly so - just the right balance). We all ordered a gentleman’s afternoon tea and we were surprised at how much there was to eat. It was presented well, tasted delicious and was excellent value for money. We were celebrating our uncles 70th and he had a memorable afternoon and rated it highly for a special occasion.

Outstanding service from all staff and a lovely venue. However the food was very poor for what you pay for. The beef/meat sandwich was extremely chewy and very small. I expected better quality for the price.

I booked this for myself & some family as a ‘Mini Hen Party’ so my little girl could be involved before me & her dad renew our wedding vows next month. The staff were aware of this & were SO attentive. They gave us the choice of tables so we could be comfortable & I got a couple of extra desserts at the end to say congratulations. Lovely little touch that made the afternoon that little bit more special

Lovely food friendly staff and fantastic hotel. Only thing I would say could have been better was that after we had finished eating our table was not cleared we had to put items on the floor out of the way as we got drinks after.

Went here for afternoon tea for my dads birthday. I had the traditional and he had the gentleman’s. The service was great and they even brought us some little chocolates on a plate saying happy birthday, nice touch. Only negatives were the sofa was very low for eating and afternoon tea was slightly scrimping in some parts. Gentleman’s was a great idea with a full sized burger and plenty sweet, could have had a smaller burger and a few more little bits to keep more within the ‘afternoon tea’ theme. However, we had a lovely time & would definitely recommend, haven’t seen any other places do a one tailored to men

Afternoon noon tea was lovely, fresh and plentiful, scones were gorgeous,couldn’t manage to eat cakes so we took them away with us. Staff pleasant, always checking to see if all was well. Lovely afternoon no rushing plenty of time to make the most of the very comfortable surroundings .

Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea at The Vermont exceeds all your expectations! Great value for money, amazing quality which is topped only by the service and the beautiful setting. The food was lovely. The service was fantastic and the lady serving us couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful. The only negative is you advertise the afternoon tea at £22.95 on the website but when OpenTable send confirmation of booking it is advertised at £19.95. I have informed The Vermont who said they would get this updated but it still has not been rectified.

Service was impeccable and could not be faulted despite the fact that the restaurant and hotel were very busy with diners and guests checking in and out. Food was absolutely delicious especially the gentleman’s afternoon tea, amazing value for money.

We were celebrating my son’s GCSE results. The staff were wonderful and were so accommodating as my son was on crutches after a rugby accident. We couldn’t have asked for better. The restaurant staff were fabulous. Thank you so much.

We arrived and we're seated was a birthday present for my friend. Food tasted a bit stale. The waitress came over and asked me to pay as she was finished her shift. I just felt the whole afternoon was rushed total let down for my friends bday

Lovely, friendly staff. Struggling to meet ours and others demands so a long wait for drinks and food. A wedding was taking place at the same time which probably took them away from our room/area. However they deserve praise for their efforts cheerfulness and manners. Food was excellent though and we would visit to do this again.

Please note the prices advertised are NOT what is charged in the hotel plus there is a service charge applied also not mentioned. Afternoon tea is served in the lobby so avoid check in time as guests are standing around you also and it can be very noisy especially when the are complaining about the length of time they are waiting in a queue

Thank you for your comments the price on the website and all sites is correct the service charge is standard in every food operation but is optional, you do not have to pay if you do not feel the service met your standards. Our lounge is next to the reception desk however, we do serve afternoon tea in the Redwood Bar and the Maven restaurant too and are happy to accommodate guests in any location. Our apologies if you have not enjoyed your visit with us this is not something we hear often.

I took my mam for her birthday and the experience was exeptional. It is a rare treat to go somewhere like this. The decor was beautiful. Food was delicious and staff excellent.just a quick heads up though when you pay the bill tell them you do not want to pay service charge orherwise its an extra £12 as is all restaurants. Would definitely go again

Father’s Day gentleman’s afternoon tea. Great service. Staff were attentive, food was delicious. Would highly recommend.
