Adalina is a refined hospitality destination serving a modern and engaging Italian menu in a timeless yet alluring setting in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Led by Michelin-starred chef Soo Ahn. Adalina’s menu creates a balance between Northern and Southern cuisine, providing expertly staged shared plates along with strong statement items that satisfy a table. Guests can expect house made extruded and stuffed pastas. Adalina’s offerings will be accompanied with tableside services, and a well curated beverage and wine program that aims to evoke a sense of excitement for guests. Fried green tomato salad and garlic bread were really good! Did not love the lumache but enjoyed the scallops.

Went for the happy hour, so take this review with the grain of salt when it comes to food. I’ve never been to a $$$$ restaurant with worse service. The waitress clearly didn’t want to be there. Our oysters had chunks of shell in it. Nobody came by the table after we shared feedback with one of our waiters. The GM continued to stare down our table without saying a word, and one of the busers rolled their eyes after we told them for the 5th time we were still working on our appetizers. I will say …they did take six dollars off the check for the oysters which we really didn’t care about. It was more so about being heard and having some sort of hospitality experience especially for the ambience and price you pay. Disappointed as this has been on my list for the past few years and we work in the neighborhood.

The food was exceptional. The service was really poor. There was a long (and unacceptable) wait to order drinks and food. Our server was pleasant and tried hard. But he seemed to working a large number of tables just by himself with no help. Took well over 2 hours for dinner. Very unexpected experience.

Great service. Good drinks. Pretty average food. Short rib was undersalted and pretty dry. Pasta was fine. Menu read better than tasted.
