Just done bother. Low quality food, high quality price, service was just extremely sub par. Go anywhere else

This was a very disappointing bizarre evening. We booked last minute New Year’s Eve celebration after a train delay so we didn’t have high expectations. But this was just awful. I think this is the first time in my life I actually writing a negative review. The price was 180€ per person. We waited 30 min for a bottle of water And an appetiser. Then 40 minutes later still no starter, because apparently someone forgot about us. When it finally arrived We actually had to send it back. I can’t even describe how bad the food looked and tasted. We actually still laughing about it. It was raw undercooked dough falling apart But the chef insisted it has to be like that. By then it was already 11 and we arrived 9.30 sharp we asked if the main and the dessert can be speed up so we can actually leave before midnight to see the fireworks. By 11.30 The hardest chewiest gnocchi one can find arrived. but anyhow at this point we just wanted to get out so we asked for the check. And this is where the funniest thing happened that made me write this review. 15 min later the check still didn’t arrive so we asked again and annoyed waiter told us that we have dessert coming. We already said we don’t have time to eat it we have to go. 5min later the check arrived and the waiter said we don’t need to pay for our lemonade 10£ each as a good gesture for their delay. But then the same moment our desert arrived. My partner was already on the way out but I was so hungry I quickly took a spoon of the desert. That same angry with man handle bar moustache runs right back to us and says - oh if you will have the desert then you have to pay for your drinks. The 20£ for the mocktails we had. He actually told us to come back to the cashier and pay for the free drinks he just offered just because I took a spoon of our dessert we paid for 180€ each.. and that is what get you bad reviews. Having bad food is subjective . Having mean greedy attitude is a universal no.

Service was absolutely garbage. Some of the worst I’ve seen. Was like pulling teeth to order a drink or anything off the menu. Took over 30 minutes to get my bill. As a result we missed New Years. Won’t eat here again.

Amazing experience, I had dinner with a friende and we had a very nice evening. We have been welcomed by friendly and professional staff and than after seated on our table the waiter suggested us some cocktails which were really tasty!! Food is very delicious and everything is well looked after… HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

What a discovery!. Located in the best part of the 15th district, near our hotel and not far from the eiffel tower, Abstinence provided us an exceptional dining experience that went way beyond the exquisite cuisine, wines and beautiful décor. From the moment we stepped through the door, the warmth of the welcome from the staff, the candle lighting, and the cool music set the tone for a memorable evening. Our waiter’s proficiency in English was noteworthy and his friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the service, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel like cherished guests (who says that Parisiens are rude?). What stood out was the atmosphere and vibe. At around 10pm, the team closed the curtains, dimmed the lights and cranked up some really cool french music (I can't remember the names of the groups). Some of the guests even danced a little near the cocktail bar adding to the fun. Abstinence isn't just a cool and stylish small Parisien restaurant; it's a journey through the senses. If you're seeking not only modern French bistro cuisine but also a warm and engaging atmosphere, Abstinence is the place to be. Merci, Hugo, Nicolas, and Mathieu, for an unforgettable evening filled with delicious food, wine, great stories and music.

Made reservation for 10pm, showed up a little late but the restaurant was closing so we didn't even get seated.

This was our best meal while in Paris. Our waiter (I wish I remembered his name) described the food and cocktails in English perfectly. He helped us choose cocktails and meals that paired well together and met our tastes (most menu items are made for sharing). The bartender hand-delivered the delicious cocktails. The presentation of a food was as incredible as a taste. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly; we had roasted eggplant with mint, a white fish with bruschetta, and portobello toast. Highly recommend.
