A great restaurant meal can be an act of storytelling and transportation. Sliding onto a stool at a bar, being met with a classy and silky martini punctuated with a briny olive, is there to prepare you for a plate of finely-shucked oysters that were bobbing in the Atlantic 36 hours ago. In this moment the noise and cacophony can melt away, your phone finds its way back into your pocket, and we find communion with those of us on our left and right.

We place a premium on doing the work to find producers, growers, and ranchers that have values that align with our own. It’s our desire to bring food to your table that speaks to its sense of place and time, and to be able to bring the connection to those producers to a higher level of consciousness.

Johnny provided excellent service and even celebrated a special moment for my family and I. Food is complex and unexpected, flavors just keep building! Second time here and will be back :)

Took a long time to put in orders and get drinks. Dinner took 3 hours. Tables all around us getting flipped left and right. Food overall was delicious. Except the hamachi. Stick to meat.

Extremely slow and unreliable service. Discussed our time constraints of an hour which was acknowledged and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. Meal took 1:40 and we missed the first period of the Avs game.

It was a nice experience, but for 1st timers it would have been nice to know that they don't have dinner till 5pm and that 3:30pm to 5pm they only have happy hour menu before we made reservations.

Great service but spoke too quietly for us to hear. Loved the flavors. Steak cooked perfectly. Everything delicious but wrap meat was over cooked.

For the price tag, this was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We're far from picky eaters, but ended up not even finishing one or two of the dishes we ordered - they were that bad. One item we ordered as an appetizer literally smelled like a farm petting zoo (we grew up in farm country and sadly I'm not exaggerating). We genuinely thought it was a joke when it came out. Additionally, the timing was all messed up. We didn't get our sides until our steaks were practically gone (we only had a few bites left when the sides arrived). I saw several other comments complaining about this, and we unfortunately experienced the same thing. The positives for us were the steaks (we've had much better, but they were pretty good) and the mac & cheese croquettes (these were tasty). For a price tag of over $300 for 2 people, this was astoundingly bad. I've never written a Yelp review in my entire life but felt like this experience warranted one. An unfortunate letdown!

The wine list was bad. Food was good but both bottles of expensive wine we ordered were not great. They try to find unique wines to add to their list but they missed the mark

I was expecting a well marbled rib seasoned ribeye steak. It had very little seasoning and a tough chew. The cook has done perfectly but it was a let down.

The food was incredible but the service was rough. We sat at the bar to get a drink and wait for our table (classic- many tables were open). The table we got sat at was in the back corner and the vibes were off so we moved back to the bar. The bartenders didn’t know a classic cocktail (that was printed on their menu), they didn’t know how their seafood tower worked (and had to ask a server) and didn’t give us any background on the cuts of meat. Overall I liked it here but won’t be dying to go back ASAP.

Had a great meal at A5 for my husband’s birthday. The steak and beef tartar sando were amazing. The biggest drawback is how jammed together the tables are. I literally had a waiter or neighbors butt in my face several times, and had to tuck myself out of the way so the food could be put on the table. We’ve eaten here before upstairs with no issues, but the tables on the lower level are just too jammed together. For this nice of a restaurant it would have been nice to be spread out more and not right next to your neighboring tables

Our server was great. But all the other ones that weren’t serving us we’re not helpful or nice or even talkative. Because they were not serving us directly they seem to not care about us being there.

This is my second time coming here and I was slightly disappointed in the service wait for food. We arrived at 7:30 for our reservation then and ordered within 15-20 min of our arrival. They warned us of a potential long wait. Luckily we didn’t come starving but it took over 70mins to receive our entres which personally for the prices you pay, I think we shouldn’t have had to wait that long. The food was fantastic. I would give it 5/5 if the food came out at a reasonable time. When I booked this reservation it said it was only for 1.5 hrs and we didn’t even have our food out by then. Last time I came here it was during the HH timeframe which was a better experience.

Food was fantastic with excellent service. However the music was super loud and obnoxious. The inappropriate selection of music and volume gave a vibe of a value-based bar and grill rather than a higher-end steakhouse with top-quality food with creative dishes. Unfortunate environment given the amazing dishes.

A group of 7 hace dinner and at the begging I wasn’t sure about the restaurant, but it surpassed my expectations. Great service and the food was amazing. Different type of plates and everything tasted delicious. I highly recommend it

Great experience and great food! We came to celebrate our elopement that day and they were very nice. At first, my husband’s steak came out a little overcooked, but they took care of it and came back with a replacement that was perfection! Everything was so flavorful, the Mac and cheese croquettes came with this pepper jam like-sauce that was super tasty. My only complaint was that the crowd noise was a little loud, but it’s a small, fun place with a great ambiance!

The food is delicious. At the end of the meal you learn there is a 20% service charge that does not include a tip. The food is amazing especially for Denver, but paying a 40% up charge is insane. I’d like to take care of my server but my server stated clearly the service charge does not include gratuity. That’s a bit much.

Great menu! Wife and I wanted a nice night out and this fit the bill. Place was very busy and some of the tables around us were letting the alcohol flowww. Not a place for quiet, intimate conversation, but if you’re looking for an awesome and interesting meal and you don’t mind some noise then it’s worth a strong consideration. The wagyu was the highlight with the immaculate preparation and presentation, but all of the food was exceptional. Non-alcoholic cocktails were underwhelming, but that was the only miss all evening. The staff, ambience, and food all get perfect marks. Definitely going to return!

Awesome apps. Bacon and beef tartare sandwich were out of this world. One star off for the mediocre steak (may not be their fault. We ordered medium). Galbi wrap was unique and rather authentic. Meat was not wagyu. Was mediocre by itself. Nowhere near $40 quality.

Lackluster service with decent but overpriced food. Any of the other steakhouses in Denver would probably be a better choice.
