    Reservations are a must. Food selection was great. Make sure you go outside and check for additional beverages. I'm sure this isn't the status quo, but after paying $400 for our family of six, we had to usher our four children to the car as a man engaging in a domestic dispute proceeded to verbally harass us and threaten us with a gun as we left. It tainted the entire experience.

    I’ve been on this earth for 58 years and this is the first time I’ve ever written a review (good or bad) but after the events of yesterday I feel compelled to do so. I’ve been going to this restaurant (94th Aero Squadron) here in San Diego for over 20 years and have always enjoyed their Sunday buffet brunch especially on Holidays. Yesterday was Father’s Day and I wanted to take my children there as they’ve been going since they were little and it always brings back happy memories. So as not to miss out, I made sure to make reservation a week in advance. When I got there I checked us in and was told to wait for a table until all guests had arrived (which of course I and no issue with.) Because I had just drove 90 minutes, I needed to use the bathroom rather urgently so I asked the woman who had just checked us in where it was so I could go and she told me (with a straight face) that I had to “pay first” before I could use the bathroom. She then told me to go in see the cashier so I spoke with her, who as it turns out was the owner. She said I could not use the bathroom until I paid for all 4 people in my party (two of which were ten minutes behind me) and even offered her to give her my driver’s license so I could use the bathroom and she said no. I completely understand why you need to pay first at a buffet and have no issue with that but to deny a person the use of a restroom who clearly has reservations and every intention of dining is despicable. Another insane policy this restaurant has is that if you need to leave to go to your car for even a minute you will get charged another full meal upon your return. So if you forgot your medicine in the car or if you have young children and you left the diaper bag in your car their moronic policy is to charge you ($100) again. So after 20 years of enjoying this place I will never return and I would encourage all of you living in San Diego to go find another restaurant where customer service is not an oxy-moron.

    I’m not sure if management has changed since we last went here in October for our daughter’s birthday, but there was a noticeable decline in service although thankfully the food was still good. My husband and I went to celebrate Father’s Day with brunch. The reservation process through OpenTable was very convenient and parking was easy since they have their own lot. As we stood in line to get in we noticed that the buffet was “holiday” priced at $100/pp, which was understandable, but what was surprising was that we had to line up and pay for the buffet ahead of time including gratuity before we even sat down. Sometimes if you have a large party, gratuity is already included, but it was just the two of us. The buffet set up and seating was just as I remembered, but the server doesn’t bring you any drinks: just mimosas, which is different. When I asked for coffee I was instructed to go outside to get it myself. It wasn’t just me; the folks at the tables around us all seemed to be confused as to where to get drinks. One person asked my husband where did he get his bottle of juice. Now, I get that it’s a buffet and for the most part we get up to get our own food. But usually the server in other places I’ve been to would at least bring drinks or at least communicate where to get them. She said a total of maybe 4 words to us throughout the 90 minutes that we were there. For $100/pp, one expects a certain level of service and a 20% gratuity (what we were made to pay before sitting down) is usually what we pay for actual service. Having experienced no real service it just felt like a ripoff to do that to customers. I’d recommend to change this practice, and/or train your wait staff to communicate more effectively.

    A little pricey but worth it. WW 1 Military Theme, nice. Excellent service, quality food, will be going back there for my birthday.

    Was blown away by the venue. The food was a 10/10. Mimosas kept coming and was encouraged to get more food and drink. Overall incredibly pleased with the whole experience!

    Overall very good experience. Flavors we outstanding and the service was fantastic. Meal could have been a bit hotter but overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back !
