My wife and I went to the restaurant on a Friday evening. It was very crowded and loud. The hostess took 10 minutes to arrive at her station to attend to us. The food was good, but the value was not. I ordered softshell crab meal, which came as a full plate of french fries, a little slaw and just one soft shell crab. Very disappointing.

Our server Michael disappeared for long periods of time as we needed to wait for refills on water many times. Should not need to wait for water glasses to be refilled. The noise level inside was horrible. We had to shout at each other in order to hold a conversation. One of the worst ambiances we have experienced in a very long time. When our server Michael did appear, he made a comment thanks for being so patient with my service. Most likely will not return from lack of service and restaurant being so loud. Very disappointed overall.

Food is excellent. The prime rib melts in your mouth as did the scallops. Perfectly cooked and the sides paired amazing with them. Service was also very good. Always a smile and very friendly.

Taylor was amazing! We had a late evening birthday reservation and it was the most wonderful celebration. Delicious food, fun drinks and great atmosphere. Thank you!

Little disappointment at this visit. The lobster special was not good at all. Tiny deep fried bites of lobster where the lobster meat was hardly found. The service was good with the exception that whenever our sever approached the table the strong lotion smell would arrive before and linger after. I think the strong personal scents should not be used by servers. This was very poor experience.

Enjoy this place. It seemed more hidden and undiscovered 2 years ago. Now it’s very busy and gets noisy. Food and ambiance is great so will keep coming back.

We came on time for our reservation and had to stand 30 mins before they seated us. Even then they put us right by the bar. Ruined the whole experience as we were hungry and tired. Then another 15min wait for someone to bring us the check after we were done eating. It was loud as well. Never going back!

We were very excited to eat here, there are many great qualities about this restaurant but I would say the service was at the top. The service was excellent. The food was great and not overly expensive. The one reason I wouldn’t return is due to how loud it was in the dining room. It made it very difficult to have a conversation without yelling.

Overall, it was restaurant presentation, service, and environment that sold me. Now, the food isn’t best of the best but good enough for friends and family for brunch or late dinner. Cocktails are strong so that’s always a good sign. The high quality service is what makes this restaurant is top place.

801 Local was so good ! Excellent service from server, food runner and manager . We started with the crab dip and Parker rolls . Both excellent. Shrimp cocktail was delicious also . We enjoyed several martinis but the extra dirty with blue cheese olives were our favorite . Filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare and you can’t go wrong with the lemon tart for dessert !! If we could give this restaurant 6 stars we would .

We were seated at our table a bit before our reservation time with a fairly empty dining room. I had to go to the host stand after being seated for 10 minutes with not so much as a glass of water being poured before I asked if anyone was servicing our table. The hostess filled our water glasses. Our waitress finally came and took our drink order for the bar. It was another 10 minutes before the drinks were delivered by a bartender. Drinks arrived after our appetizer arrived. Waitress finally took our order. Manager cleared appetizer plates and dirty utensils. Said she was going to brink clean knives. Never did. Food was delivered by a food runner. 2nd bar drink was ordered and needed to be delivered by bartender again as waitress seemed to be nowhere to be found. Nobody checked on if our food was ok. The waitress literally did nothing to service our table except to take our food and drink order. I spent $160 on a meal before tip, can’t say I’d go back. Waitress did nothing to earn a tip. I hope what was tipped went to the bartender and food runner. They did real work to earn tips. Food was mediocre and service was terrible. As a restaurateur in St. Louis I would expect better from 801.

The food was really great and our server was lovely, but unfortunately I think they were understaffed so everything took a really long time. We ordered a bottle of wine but didn't get it until after we had finished eating. It's a great place, they just need to figure out a way to recruit more servers! Maybe the pay isn't enough. We will try it again!

This was Easter and was a last minute call but turned out to be wonderful! The brunch menu was unique and the fun little donuts were a fun surprise that the entire table enjoyed.

The service and the kitchen were very inefficient. Other tables got their cocktails and food before we did and were seated after us. My chicken piccata was literally charred. The salmon was dry and over cooked. Their bathrooms had no running water to wash your hands. Despite all of this - it was very busy and noisy.

Our goal is for everyone to have a great time from start to finish and I am sorry we missed the mark Saturday evening. Although we attempt to serve everyone in a timley manner some items take longer than others to prepare. I will look further into the exact situation to see where we faltered. In regards to the water in the bathrooms, the touchless faucets can be a bit finicky. Your server brought your concerns to my attention, I double checked both sinks personally and both were in working order. We had a great dinner. The salads were good and the homemade bread was delicious, it had a great crust. I had the chicken and my husband had the tuna. We both were happy with our selections. Service was also every good.

The Ahi Tuna wrap is an excellent starter - with good portions of Ahi Tuna with Mango and other fresh ingredients. The homemade ravioli was exceptional… however a bit small if you don’t get an appetizer. All in all - a great meal and experience. Only downside was the noise level - hard to have a conversation - but some enjoy the noise/energy. Highly recommend!

The restaurant was comfortable,sat in a booth,dim lighting,not too loud,service was pretty good,food was nice,disappointment that there was no bread or crackers served w my salad unless u paid for their parker house rolls for $8,portions were ok,i had the short ribs but only came with one,2 other people in our party had filets,good but nothing exceptional,1 other person in our party had chicken piccata & liked,fettucine by itself was nothing to rave about.Im not sure i would go back for dinner again for the price but may try again for lunch or happy hour.

Just a Saturday night dinner but wanted tvs in the area toche k basketball scores. Did need constant feed while eating. Nice options for me with celiac. Even had excellent raspberry sorbet. I seldom am able to get gf dessert.
