Four of us had dinner at 801 Fish on 5-14-24. Not very busy as expected on a Tuesday night. They have $15 valet parking but I recommend parking across the street at the Target ramp ($6). The ramp was uncrowded and the elevator is steps from 801's 9th and Nicollet entrance. Stick with any of their fish dishes and you can't go wrong. We had swordfish and halibut and both were the best we ever had. The apps and sides were great too. They have a pastry chef on site serving up wonderful desserts. Our helpful and knowledgeble server was also the sommelier. There is a big wine list and prices are reasonable (by today's inflated standard). The service was prompt and not intrusive. I would recommend this place for fish over Oceanaire although both are great. Let's try to keep this new downtown gem open by coming back often.

I am not a big fish eater. But literally everything we had was amazing. The stars were the parmesan and garlic grilled oysters, the branzino and the swordfish. The scallops and ceviche were ridiculously tasty as well. We will be back for sure.

First time here as we were visiting from out of town due to a work trip. We love king crab and luckily they had some still as we were having a late dinner. Our server Ali K was awesome, fully of energy and such a positive vibe. We had the Maryland crab cake which had a little spice to the sauce and we liked that. King crab was perfect. Also had the king crab stuffed pasta. Unique dish, 6 raviolis with a white cream sauce and mushrooms. Not too heavy of a dish. Homemade scoop of cookies and cream ice cream was the perfect amount of dessert to end the night.

The food was very good and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, the cost for lunch was very high for the amount of food we received. We were given water and soda when we arrived, but were not offered a refill of water or soft drink until after our bill was paid. The food was slow to come out.

The food here was VERY, VERY, GOOD! But THE SERVICE WAS GREAT! The professionalism and attentiveness of the entire waiting staff was incredible. This is fine dining at its best. The food was flavorful, as well as, plated gorgeously. The price is high and to be expected in a fine dining establishment. They start you with complimentary bread, We actually over ordered. Every “side” we had was shareable and if you don’t have a big appetite you can possibly share an entree like we did. Don’t let the pricing intimidate you. We came here for a date night dinner and it was amazing! This was probably the best service we have had here in Minnesota!

Austin maybe the best waiter we have ever had! This new Resteraunt is amazing. The selections are fresh and divinely prepared. It's 5 stars on every measure. The waiter and chef actually came by the table to let us know the 1st course was not up to their standards so they redid it before we ever saw the dish. The cocktails are exceptional Crudo's to the Management and entire staff. We will definitely be returning.

We loved the food. It was very fresh and well executed. The service was absolutely exceptional. This is a hidden gem in plain site on Nicollet Mall. We will be back!!

We love 801 Chophouse so were super excited to try 801 Fish. It was disappointing. The restraunt was super hot. We learned that it is in a building with an old boiler so once it is turned off for the season it is off. So, wait until the warmer weather is here for good before going or you will roast through your dinner. The food was good but honestly I prefer the Oceanaire menu. The clam chowder was quite good and the octopus was outstanding. The standout of what we ordered. They have an in-house pastry chef, but the deserts were just ok. The phyllo dough on the unusual Basque cheesecake was burnt and didn't taste good. The chocolate semi fritto was good as was the creme brulle. Overall the food was good but prices were quite high for the portions received. I would choose Oceanaire over 801 Fish next time.

Wonderful place in downtown MSP. Truly a 5 star experience on all levels. The seafood is wonderful and if you want a steak option they have that too. Oh, and on Thursdays they have $2 oysters on the half shell. Give 801 Fish a try. I’m glad we did!

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous inside! The service was top notch, and the food was delicious!! Highly recommend the crab cake and scallops!! Don’t miss the chance to eat here if you’re in town! You won’t be disappointed!

The decor is absolutely beautiful. The oyster display catches your attention and sets the tone for the freshness of the seafood. Enjoyed the Tuna Tataki, Scallop Crudo, Ceviche, and Octopus as starters. All amazing, the presentation, quality, and sauces are what you would expect for the price. For our mains, the grilled Branzino with beurre blanc, Red Snapper, Bouillabaisse, and Sea Bass knocked it out of the park. Dessert did not disappoint either. Cheese cake and creme Brule were very balanced, delicious, and the right size. Service was top-notch, knowledgeable, friendly, and cared about our experience. A highly recommend from our family. We will be back!

Great venue. Excellent bar. Solid menu. Sad part was this was Friday night and there were only a couple tables seated. Restaurant and service were just out of whack with so few to serve. This is not a restaurant problem,this is a Minneapolis problem. We went to a show and could not find an open bar within walking distance (save one) at 10pm after the show. I hope they make a go if it, but a downtown restaurant is only an option of us if we have show tickets. Just not worth the effort with the decay that has set in.

If you want to have oysters and cocktails and sit at the bar with Ashley, you will have an amazing time! We were a little less excited about the dinner we had there, but for lunchtime and sitting at the bar it was so good

Service was off - 2 soups were served without any spoon let alone soup spoons. Each bottle of wine took a lengthy time to be served at table after ordering. And side dish was forgotten about it

This was our first time here. Everything was terrific. We enjoyed everything we ate, both the cocktail and wine were delicious, the service (Ciera) was impeccable and the setting is lovely. I was forced to find a complaint I’d say it’s that “the tide was out” on the manhattans. For $16 I expected a fuller glass. Well will be back!

I’ve tried 801 Fish a few times for lunch and have been impressed, so we decided to give dinner with friends a try. The resuts were fantastic: food was wonderful, atmosphere on a Saturday night was lively and the best part… our server, Amelia. She made us feel so comfortable, and led us down some interesting paths with her thoughtful food recommendations. We’d go back just to see her again. Only one knock on value, the Old Fashioneds look like a half pour (I guess we’re just used to Wisconsin supper clubs?!?)

Wide variety of seafood dishes. Nice selection of oysters. Prices higher with some dishes way off the scale, but not a huge outlier. Crab ravioli was outstanding; so was the lobster bisque. Scallops had a thick spicy crusty coating that overwhelmed the shellfish; need to cut back on that. 3 oysters were served o a huge dish of ice which was a bit much. Something more modest in size would fit better.

We sat in a booth across from the bar. Intimate yet a part ofthings. We each had a signature marine, which was delicious. Bob had the bouyabaise, which was full of seafood, and thelittle gem salad, which he said was his all-time favorite, I enjoyed my clam chowder and Baramundi(sp) fish with white beans, Delicious. The four tall crackers served with drinks was just right. Thank you!

New fish place to compete with oceannaire We had the frito mixto which is deep fried calamari and shrimp with a delicious dipping sauce and the beet salad a mix is purple and golden beets with greens For entrees the half portion of crab ravioli was about five raviolis that really do taste of crab in a white sauce, so a fine healthy portion but bigger appetites may wish to splurge on the full portion The bouillabaisse had a mix of mussels clams shrimp scallops and fish in a mild broth served with therapies of Italian bread with a tomato spread. The portion size is fine although the broth was not as rich and flavorful as I might have hoped for For dessert we shared a crème brûlée that was fine for two and I would recommend Wine by the glass are almost non existent but the draft IPA was delicious Service was exceptional from a waitress formerly at Meritage so experienced and knowledgeable
