801 continues to be the standard by which all other fine dining is compared. The service is immaculate, the food outstanding, and you feel like family from the moment you walk in until you depart.

Love the New York style setting for this fabulous restaurant. The decor is upscale and sophisticated, and our service was exceptional. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they decorated the table, provided us with desserts on the house etc. etc. It was so nice! Overall, a great evening.

It was our first time dining at 801, we knew it was pricey but I think it’s a little overboard on the pricing. My husband had the 24 oz prime rib which after you take away the bone and all the fat is maybe 16 ounces and it wasn’t nearly as tender as we were told it would be. I had the 1lb king crab leg and it was good but a bit on the salty side and I would think for $115 that they would remove it from the shell table side like other expensive restaurants do, by the time I de-shelled it, it was cold. The large end they split for you but you still need to take it out of the shell and not once was I offered a wet nap or warm cloth to wash my hands. We will go back but may order something different and they need to back off on the amount of salt they use to boil the seafood.

We visited 801 for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. The service was outstanding, and our steaks could not have been more delicious. 801 is now in the mix when we want to have a first-rate steak. I am mad at myself for not having visited prior!

The prices are comparable to other steak houses in downtown Mpls. However, the attention to detail, service, food are no where up to the other's standards. No check back after food was served to see if we were missing anything (we were). Overall service was very spotty. My prime rib was off the charts salty, and I like salty items. I was not impressed with the blue cheese red potatoes - something was off. Another person said the seasonings on his pork chop were odd. Overall, not a good experience.
