Consistent food & service. I do now note they are charging a 3% Service Fee. When I asked what that was for, I was told it’s for “the back of the house.” As a person who typically tips 25%, even though the fee was minimal I will be reflecting that in tipping the waitress 22%. We’re already paying higher menu prices so I was surprised they resorted to this while I do know they’re not the only restaurant doing it.

I had requested for outdoor seating when I made the reservation. The hostess brought us to our indoor table. I mentioned to her about the outdoor seating, she said your reservations was for indoor. We sat down for a couple minutes and verified my reservations. I went back to the hostess to ask about the seating. A manager was called and gave us seating on the balcony. The food was good. The bf said the pretzel had too much salt for his liking. We also ordered crab artichoke dip as an appetizer. We had the poke tuna bowl and halibut tacos for entree. The cocktails were great. He ordered a few dark beers that were also great.

Made a reservation, seated right away. Sat and waited, no one acknowledged us. We sat. Finally a manager came over took a drunk order. And then a very pleasant server finally arrived. We ordered our meal. The food was nothing outstanding for the price. We had ordered bison and elk meals. We were celebrating a birthday and it was just not that exciting a culinary experience. Too slow to be acknowledged and food was not anything that stood out.

What I like about this place is that they have gluten-free options and they are flagged on the menu. The vegan burger is surprisingly delicious. This visit I had the street corn appetizer and it was really tasty as well. The pizza is okay - best to stick to the classics like pepperoni. If it has unusual ingredients like fireweed jelly it really strays from tasting anything like pizza. Good beer and wine selection. And of course, the rooftop in the summer cannot be beat. Don't buy gift cards from here! They expire.

We had a cold food issue and huge delay with my meal but the manager resolved it very well. He seemed sincere in his apology; I decided not tell him that it was my daughter’s bday so he wouldn’t feel worse. The food is very good and they have a huge beer selection

We love going to 49th they have amazing food with an epic view. Last time was super slammed. We waited a while for our food and when it came out some of it was cold. Didn’t seem logically to send it back given how long it took to receive. Servers are always super nice. Staff is nicely dressed.

We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary over dinner. The service was outstanding along with the ambiance. Our food was good but not something we would rant over. All in all, it was a good experience.

My party was seated upstairs and we were able to have a conversation at normal volume! The food was incredible, my halibut tacos were the best I'd ever had.

Best dining experience in Anchorage. We lucked out with seats at the bar one night, and made a reservation for upstairs on another night. It’s a busy place but staff is friendly and reasonably attentive. Food and drinks were excellent

We made a reservation this time hoping we could have a relaxing lunch before the Fur Rondy melodrama. The server asked if we were local and if we had been here before-Yes to both. We told her about our plans which would give us an hour and a half for lunch. However she then rushed us thru the meal and gave vague answers to questions about the menu and the new beers. Please allow folks to taste the food before asking to order the next dish. Also, please ask if more beverage is desired if a glass is empty. Is there a one drink limit for a reservation? The restaurant was half full and lots of staff were standing around so this wasn’t a shortage situation. This place has gotten way too touristy. The food is average, beer was really good, not worth going through that again. We were rushed so fast we had 25 mins before the show so we grabbed a beer at the bar downstairs. Awesome bartender btw, which made up a bit for the poor dining experience.

We sat at the bar, took a while to be acknowledged for a beer, close to 10 minutes. We said we’d order food with our 2nd beer but bar tender after bar tender asked if we were ready to order. Slow service at first and then felt hustled/rushed. Other wise everything was great.

The fish and chips was undercooked, steak was supposed to be cooked well done and was not. We asked for it to be recooked and were told no, it’s cooked to temp when I’m pregnant and didn’t want to risk it. It was my birthday dinner and I didn’t even have a good meal there. We left and got habachi chicken @ Jimmys which we loved should’ve gone there in the first place!!

The place was busy, probably like normal for the staff. We got seated prior to our reservation, then it took forever to see a server, we ordered drinks, that took a long time. We got 2 beer flights. The beer was all really good. We only saw our server for our drink order, our meal order then the check. I don’t think I’ll go there again. It was really expensive and not really worth it.

The food was delicious as always. I set up the reservation online and we were seated as soon as we showed up, which was great. However, we waited 30 minutes after we were seated before getting service. I was able to get the attention of one of the servers who went and got our server. There was no apology for the wait or anything. After we received our drinks, we didn't see our server until the food arrived. I appreciate having a server who does not interrupt every 5 minutes, but I would like to be able to get the attention of my server if there is something I need. The service could have been better. All in all, my wife and I had a good time and the food was excellent.

Had the fish fry special with the Alaskan Cod so good and worth they price of the ALL YOU CAN EAT.

I first arrived to the restaurant and they did not have the table the I had booked in advance. Totally understandable as it was a busy night being Valentine’s Day and what not. I was then brought to my table and didn’t receive any service for a good 10 minutes. A waitress finally approached me and I asked for a beer fight. My I.D. was at the front at the time in my backpack and she was refusing to at least put the order in until I was able to show my I.D. Another good 10 minutes go by without anyone approaching my table and a new waitress was taking our order. He messed up our beer orders and did not come and check up on us for a good minute. The only way we knew our beer order was wrong was until the manager came to our table and noticed that it was not correct. Very disappointed as it was my guest time at this restaurant and that is the first experience I had. The only plus was the manager allowing us to get a free dessert for the inconvenience.

I have eaten here many times and we go back because the food is great. Last night the service was absolutely horrible. We waited forever and someone finally came and said “Have you been helped yet”. Would ask for something, it would never come. Just bad bad service all around. You have to pay at the table with the waiter right there so they look upon you as you reduce the tip after your shrimp basket dinner took 2 1/2 hours. (Not kidding) There is now a 3% service fee, so basically a hidden 3% price increase. Just raise your prices and don’t hide it at the bottom of the receipt.

We are long term Alaskans but still the room was uncomfortably cool. The service was very slow. We discovered it was because of a catered event in the ballroom that had overwhelmed the staff. These events happened regularly on Wednesdays yet staffing had not been adequate. Do not dine here on Wednesdays might be a thought.

My SO and I were not impressed with the food at all. The crab jalapeño poppers were cold on the inside and had no flavor. I am not sure there was even any crab in them. The Wold Famous Yak burger was nothing special at all. Especially for the price. It had no flavor and was dry. The caribou burger was dried out, had no flavor, and the patty was so small that there was way more bun than burger. The only decent item we ordered was the Brussels Sprouts. Our server was amazing as well. My SO and I were disappointed as we were looking forward to a nice night out but we should have stayed home as I could have made a better meal and saved $150.

49th State remains one of our favorite places - my husband and I got married there as well as our daughter and son-in-law. The food is good, the atmosphere rocks and it's clean and well maintained. The only thing I would add is the wine selection is good,but the pours are pretty pathetic and not worth the money.

I don't think they could find my reservation, hostess asked if there was another name it could be under. Glad I had my reservation pulled up on my phone. Waiter was pretty to be attentive, lemonades were promptly refilled Cocktail took a while to get despite being mere feet from the upstairs bar and an early dinner time- 5:15 it took a long time to get our appetizer and food. Our pretzel was MIA for a while and they had to remake it and it came at the same time as our dinners 49th used to be one of our favorites for atmosphere, food, service but over the last few years it has become a place we go to once a year - more of a I don't mind going but they don't make my list of places to ear or that I suggest to others

I was very disappointed that I had an Open Table reservation for 4 and when we got there they didn't have a table. After much confusion and close ro 15 min, my husband walked around and found our party had been checked in and seated! No apology for the confusion, no manager acknowledging the error. When we left we spoke to a manager and the excuse was the staff was new. The food was good, the service ok. I wish they had left the glass barriers at the tables to help reduce the noise level.

Had a table reservation for 10pm but the restaurant closes at 10pm. They probably should have reservations end at 9:30pm

Love this restaurant but we sat upstairs, next to a brightly lit wall that had a cold draft coming from the window. We were allowed to move to a more comfortably lit table, but it was still cold.
