It has been quite a long time since we have been to a classic Sunday brunch buffet with all the serving stations. 1931 did not disappoint. The setting is as enchanting as it was when the hotel was built. The tables are not packed in to permit the establishment to make as much money as possible. The food stations were filled, and regularly refilled, with a great selection of delicious items from which to choose. Guests were greeted at the egg and carving stations and were served sumptuous foods. The service was excellent, with servers who made us feel welcome and ensured we enjoyed Mother's Day.

I never want to go back. The food and service were so underwhelming. If I gad gotten this quality at Golden Corral, I would have been upset. The fact I got it at 1931 is orders of magnitude worse.

We had a reservation for 12:30 and arrived on time. We weren't seated till 12:55pm. The host was overwhelmed and had a hard time tracking reservations. When it was finally time to be seated we were taken in the restaurant to another host stand. We had to wait at the second host stand to be seated. When we finally reached our table there were several empty tables that never really filled out. Thankfully the food was delicious but it was disappointing to have to wait nearly 30 minutes after our reservation time.

prime rib, lamb and ham were overcooked and dry. Vegetables were underwhelming and overcooked. deserts were dry and again, underwhelming. Mussels were just disgusting and the oysters were just there. Shrimp were good. Cheese board was good, had to ask for the smoked salmon 2 times but the cooked salmon was always full.

The experience was good. No huge crowds to negotiate. Valet parking easy, quick, and convenient. A few food items we didn’t care for. A chicken dish was overcooked and dry. Prime rib seemed a bit chewy for prime rib. Bakery items were very good. Overall a good experience.

I spent $275.00 for 4 people for Mother’s Day brunch. We had 2 glass of Champaign at $11 each. Two kids at $25.00 each. But it was a buffet. The host seemed overwhelmed, and flooded the tables in a way that guaranteed a line. But the food was not significantly better, and while the server was attentive and nice, there wasn’t a lot required of them and they seemed to want to turn the table quickly. I get that the atmosphere is incredible, and the jazz musicians were a nice touch, but the price was robbery. Not at all worth the value.

It's nice to see the restaurant in the Palm Court open again. When there is a crowd in there at the bar it can get quite noisy, later in the evening it gets quieter and we could have a conversation. Service was ok, very friendly staff but not particularly attentive and missed small things like replacing cutlery with removes. Timing was a bit off as we were not finished with salads when the main was presented. Food was good, but perhaps a little overpriced, but that seems to be the trend with all dining establishments lately. The dishes we had (beef rib ragout and petit filet) were tasty, properly cooked and portions satisfying. We were treated to a dessert since we were celebrating our Anniversary.

Morgan the bartender was great. He described the house old fashioned in detail. He had great knowledge of the menu and the hostess let us order from both menus since they were shortstaffed and had to seat us at the bar at our reservation time. She also comped a round. We all ended up staying at the bar and ordering from the bar menu. This was partly because Morgan was so accomodating.

Very disappointed from the chaos of or seating to the food and service. We were out the door in an hour and 5 minutes. It felt more like we dined at a low end chain restaurant.

Our waiter was amazing since kitchen was extremely slow. Brought extra bread and fruit cup for the little guy in our group. Salmon was a bit undercooked and scallops only warm but other entres were good.

Extremely salty French Onion soup, other food very, very salty as well. We ordered drinks from the menu then served came back and said they don’t have them- drink menu changed. Brought a drink we did not order. I gave two stars instead of one, as the room is amazing! I suggest just going to the bar, get a drink they DO make, and then eat elsewhere. They just opened, so maybe it will get better, but…..

Portions are large, and some of the food was quite good. But the timing was way off. Food took a very long time to come out. We had to ask for the check with our entrees in order to get to our show at 8 (reservation was at 6). Drinks were ordered and took a very long time and we're forgotten until we asked. Cod was very well prepared, but the vegetables weren't very good, and the grits were so salty that I couldn't eat them. Very disappointed since this used to be my favorite restaurant when it was Orchid's.

OK, they could serve me gruel and I would still come back for this beautiful Art Deco setting...but it's disappointing that the former Orchids has closed and been replaced with this much lower aspiration concept. Service was poor, possibly because there was too little for my server to do with so few customers present...I ordered papperdalle short ribs and it was over- salted, tough, and not attractively presented, and the to-go mascarpone cheesecake was very small with inadequate raspberry sauce that absorbed into the paper to-go box. That said, I will be back again and again, whatever kind of restaurant exists in this space, because the setting is so beautiful and inspiring that I can overlook everything else for this place.

Great renovation. Had nice live dinner music playing - but not overbearing so could still talk. Food was great. Server waa very friendly and fun but they seemed a little understaffed. Overall a very nice experience

Expected an upscale restaurant. Had to wait for the receptionist to finish her text before she could seat us. We asked for a wine list as we wanted a nice bottle for our anniversary. They didn’t have one, only wine by the glass. Ordered appetizers, shrimp was old and slimy. Management was great, compted drinks and dessert for inconvenience but left us with a feeling that we wished we had chosen a different restaurant. Server couldn’t have been nicer but she was a bartender not a server. Entres were good.

It's nice to see a new restaurant in this beautiful space that is such an excellent example of art deco design. We started at the bar with drinks and I must say my dirty martini with blue cheese olives was perfectly made. My husband had the house cab and was very happy with his selection. We were meeting a friend and were seated once he arrived. Our waitress was delightful, full of smiles and great information on the menu. She suggested the black cod and two of us order that entree. My husband got the filet. The black cod was delicious and perfectly prepared. We all loved the grits under the fish. My beloved's filet was also a perfect medium rare. We had a fabulous time and plan to go back to enjoy the atmosphere and the great food.

Great ambiance, food excellent. Unfortunately short staffed, making service longer than usual. Our waiter Carlton was top shelf, made the wait well worth it.

The problem maybe my expectations and my memory of the Omni Netherland Plaza. This place used to be awesome! The best Sunday Brunch in the tri-state area. It now tired, worn-out, dated, stale, etc. The food and the ambiance are just fair; the place is no longer special!

We did appetizers (sliders, bisque) and salad, so not the full experience, but what we had was really great, and the service was super. And, of course, the ambience was what you'd expect from an art deco hotel - just fun! I'm quite puzzled by their OpenTable reservation presence -- the main dining room showed no reservation times available at 7:00 PM on a Sunday (we reserved in the bar), but when we got there, the place was pretty close to empty. That's the only reason I dinged the review.

Ate here for third time since reopening. Each time has been great, and prices are reasonable. And you can't eat in a better setting.

From previous visits at.the Orchid Room food quality has declined some. Not the variety we had in past. Service was excellent otherwise. I will return and hope food quality and variety improves.

This was so much better than last year. Food was really good this time and they didn’t run out of anything. Only suggestion would be to add a little more quality to the Dessert table. There were plenty of options, but they looked better than they tasted. Enjoyed ourselves very much and will return next year.

We were there for Easter brunch and it was fantastic. The buffet had a great spread of breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. The wait staff was excellent clearing away dishes and fulfilling drink orders. A wonderful experience that the whole family enjoyed.

Loved Easter brunch. Bottomless mimosas were fantastic. Love music made the ambiance an excellent place to enjoy some family time and great food.

For the cost of the meal the food was less mot even average. When you spend over $800 for 7 people you expect the food to be outstanding. The vegetables were hard and some could not even be cut. The meat was tough and the carvers were actually rude. All food that was supposed to warm was cold. Definitely disappointed. The last time we went there it was much better. Definitely has gone downhill. Will not be back, the cost is ridiculous. However the server and host were great.

It was everything I hoped it would be! I was a big fan of “Orchids” before the pandemic. I went to the special brunches numerous times and enjoyed each and every single one. Chef Todd was phenomenal. Then COVID hit. Everything fell apart. Then I heard the restaurant was resurrected under a new name and chef. I jumped on the chance to go and see what they had to offer. I was not disappointed! It was wonderful! Was it the level they had in the past, no. But this is the first year out and what they did offer was EXCELLENT! Like so many things, you improve as you go. So what lies ahead will be stellar I’m sure! Congratulations and Bravo.

Easter Sunday brunch was very nice. Good selection of food which was all very tasty. Nice service by the staff. Wonderful ambiance in the art deco setting. First time back since Orchids. Looking forward to another visit for dinner.

Needs a little more time to work out the kinks (hostess, menu and wait time for food and drinks) but overall the food was delicious and the service was attentive. Ask for George to be your server.
