1913 Restaurant & Bar is no ordinary restaurant. Named for the founding year of the City of Hope, 1913 is a place where every plate is thoughtfully curated to nourish one’s body, heart, spirit, and soul. Executive Chef Christian Eggerling and his diverse team of culinary talent make healthy food fun, sometimes fancy (because we all deserve it), but never boring. Fresh wild-caught seafood, locally sourced meat, garden-harvested vegetables, decadent desserts, curated wine list and craft cocktail program make 1913 the ideal destination for any occasion. A surprise in finding such a good place near home. The pork chop was tastier than most steaks I've had. The soft jazz background music made for a very enjoyable evening.

Even if I didn’t live right around the corner, 1913 would still be my favorite local restaurant in the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte area! The seasonally-changing California Cuisine menu is superbly executed by Chef de Cuisine, Fernando Rodriquez. Today, from the Spring 2024 Lunch Menu, I selected the new Muffuletta Sandwich including a side salad of gourmet greens with their amazing homemade garlicky Ranch dressing. I can recommend most anything on their menu. There is only one sandwich and one salad I would not recommend and that is only because of my palate, and your palate and my palate are most likely very different. Please visit 1913 on my recommendation and enjoy!

What a hidden gem we absolutely love this restaurant we just moved here and the food was spectacular the chef is amazing wow so impressed we will be back weekly;)

This was our third or fourth time eating here. We have done both lunch and dinner. Food is really delicious and presentation is fantastic. Location is untraditional as it’s in the lobby of a guest hotel on the hospital grounds, but the food makes up for it. The outside patio provides stunning views of the San Gabriel mountains.

Not from the area, first time to the restaurant, found it on OpenTable, surprised by the odd location but the food was remarkably good, service was great too. Our server was very attentive and I was able to fund plenty of vegetarian options.

My husband and I are very impressed with the quality and presentation our luncheon meal. The service, ambience and quality of food for the price was over the top.

The ambiance was very inviting and the food was marvelous! Our server, ‘Dom’ was fantastic and thoughtful; even gifted a birthday dessert for my wife’s very special day which made it even more memorable

Gorgeous food and wonderful service. Prices are very reasonable. Menu varied and very interesting. Might be best restaurant in the area!!!
