I expected more for the price. The meals everyone had in my group were good but nothing extraordinarily special that I haven't had at plenty of other less expensive fine dining restaurants in my travels across the country. I think they try too hard with the presentation of the entries. The best thing about this restaurant is how beautiful it is.

The food was amazing, our server was so slow. Had to ask him for my wine 3 times and water constantly. Our drinks took forever and he never brought bread to the table.

The kitchen was extremely slow! Took 45 minutes to get our food out, we were ready to get up and go to the other restaurant. Ordered Steak and Sea Bass. Hubby said fillet was tough and the Sea Bass was a very small cut for $54!

The pork chop was the best part of our meal. I had the waygu bolognese and some of the noodles were stuck together and lacked salt. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and I would definitely go back for that. We had to ask someone to get our waitress after 15 min of waiting for her to take our order. I have been there many times and this visit could’ve been a one off. So I hope.

We usually go to Cafe Central but decided to check out 1700 for our 15th wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional. We both got the filet mignon and truffle mac and cheese. Again excellent! We also had 2 old fashioneds smoked. excellent as well. The issue was when we finished dinner and had some left-over steak to be boxed and we ordered 2 more old fashioneds. After 20 mins and seeing other folks get drinks that came in after we ordered, our waiter came back, and we inquired about our drinks. 15 mins after that we asked a waitress to please close us out. Our waiter came back with the doggy bag, the check, and mumbled something incoherent. As I was filing out the receipt, we were asked about our time there by what I will assume was the manager. Explain we had a great time, the food was awesome, but the service was horrible. She offered each of us a drink from the bar, which we turned down. Because of the quality of the food and atmosphere, we would be willing to try the steakhouse again with the hope this was a one off.

Excellent steakhouse in an evocative setting in El Paso. The hotel itself, grand and opulent, lends itself well to this sophisticated restaurant. The delicious meal paired nicely with the wine selection and quality, and the quiet ambiance made we want to stay. Alberto, my server, was attentive but not overbearing, which is the perfect balance. Overall, terrific experience, and I will be back.

Phenomenal service from our waiter Juan. Excellent recommendations and special service on our anniversary. The food was excellent to include the fillet and the ribeye. We will definitely return to this place. Loved the ambience and decor. The iPad style menus are a great idea to see photos and descriptions. Will be back for sure for our next special occasion

The food was outstanding and so was the service. I ordered the flat iron steak with truffle fries and my fiancé ordered the flat iron steak with mushrooms. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Also, we had the Baked Alaska for the first time with was delicious as well. Furthermore, our sever was extremely sweet and checked on us frequently to make sure the food was to our liking. I would absolutely recommend 1700 steakhouse.

Excellent service and presentation. The filet mignon was extremely tender and cooked perfectly in my opinion for medium rare. The 8oz portion looked like 4oz to me. I let the staff know and was told they weigh the meat before cooking it and assured me it was 8oz. I’m 45 and have been cooking steaks for at least 25 years and I know what an 8oz portion looks like cooked….needless to say it was deliciously overpriced for being underweight 😆 I didn’t leave stuffed so they helped me to not overeat….

overall little disappointed with the experience. I thought the waiter was a little bit slow on service in our table considering they’re only about three other tables in the entire restaurant. The second bottle of wine that we ordered was court. I didn’t want to say anything since we were already having some other issues with couple of the steaks being cold. Disappointed after spending $800 for a dinner.

Very nice ambiance and would be five stars if the restaurants made some changes to the style of seating. The chairs are love seats that cause you to sink too much into your seat making it at times uncomfortable to eat. The portions/quality for the price of the dishes I would expect them to be more elevated so I was disappointed on that end. Overall great place to enjoy the quietness and decor but still needs some work on other parts.

The seating, check-in staff woman was very rude. Not welcoming, almost uncomfortable, like we shouldn’t have been there for dinner reservations. The service was OK mediocre not fine dining the steak was not prepared correctly overcooked for medium rare. The server never even asked us how our steak was. Very small portions. 1700 was an amazing dining experience. From the house made bread, to the main course, to dessert the food was delicious. Our server Jason was also extremely attentive, remembering our dietary restrictions, and going above and beyond. The ambiance of 1700 was great, with a 1920s or so aesthetic. Music was the perfect volume too, not too quiet and or too loud that well you can’t have a conversation. Overall, I would definitely recommend 1700 for special occasions like anniversaries, valentine’s, birthday’s etc.

Some site said this was home for best steak in El Paso...hardly, the 16 oz ribeye was below average, 4oz was fat, had better Ribeyes at Cafe Central, Saltgrass, West Texas Chophouse. Side dishes were average, small servings served in tiny cute pots, I guess to look fancy, mashed potatoes had bleu cheese mixed in, which was weird, mac n cheese was prob the best thing we tried, still below expectations for such a swanky joint. Place was dead, waiter said bc time of year, I now have my doubts, don't waste your time and money. Hector, our waiter, top notch, good people, professional AF.

He’s an overnight in El Paso and wanted to try a Steakhouse downtown. Had tri d a couple before near the Plaza and Paso Del Norte but this came up on OT as a new option. Glad I did. Service was impeccable, food excellent. Bread service was great, 6 options and a choice of truffle butter or “regular” garnished with Worcestershire sauce. Tried both they were great but the Truffle scones with Truffle butter did it for me. Pot Roast was excellent. I’m a small plate guy and couldn’t finish it and leave room for dessert, which I do not want to miss, so no skimpy portions here. Baked Alaska for dessert was the experience you’d expect it to be. Wine, liquor and beer list was excellent. Would definitely return.
