Bring your lei's and join us on our Sunset Terrace for Tropical-inspired cuisine, such as Spicy Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly Skewers, Polynesian Meatballs and Mini Pineapple Upside Cakes, paired with four delectable Privateer Rum cocktails - all while taking in the salty air and sounds of the crashing waves in Gloucester Harbor. ++MA State Tax will be collected on-site in addition to the $75 price of the experience. We visited the mothers day fixed menu. The food was pretty good,but definatly a bit pricey. Wish they had better dessert options.

We had the Mother’s Day prix fix menu and it was outstanding, very generous portions over all 3 courses, excellent service from Max as well, highly recommend!

We celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday instead of Sunday. 1606 is a special restaurant due to its location and expansive menu. First, offering valet parking complimentary for dinner reservations is classy and was a nice touch. I do not recall that being the case a few years back. My wife and I arrived with my 91-year old mother about 25’ early for our 6:30pm reservation. Not expecting to be seated, my wife and mother sat in a seating area nearby. I walked up to the host, mentioned we were early and that our entire party had not arrived yet. I was told they had a wonderful table for us and would be happy to seat us immediately. The table was fabulous, at the corner of the windows, and looked straight out to the water. Lisa, our server, promptly came to our table took our drink order and brought some warm multigrain bread and gluten-free bread with olive oil for my vegan gluten-free wife. Kudos to the chef who was very accommodating to my wife’s dietary restrictions who had roasted brussel sprouts, lentil stew and broccoli. We ordered the small seafood tower, clam chowder, lobster bisque, escargot special, swordfish, lobster roll, poached pear salad and french fries/chips. The shellfish, shrimp and ceviche in the seafood tower were super fresh and delicious. I felt the lobster tail in the tower and the lobster in my lightly buttered lobster roll was dry and did not have any claw meat in it which is much tenderer and easier to eat in a roll. I was truly looking forward to “escargot toast” which had a nice portion 6-8 escargot on the bread but there was way too much of the dressing, my opinion, poured over the snails and the toast. Other than those two items everyone thoroughly enjoyed their cocktails, appetizers and entrees. We might return for a weekend and stay at the hotel. Lovely memorable evening. Thank you to the valets, Lisa (server) and the hosts for taking such wonderful care of us. We look forward to our next visit.

My went to 1606 to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience, the food was awesome the was staff attentive. They also presented me with a card signed by the staff at the end of our meal (nice touch).

Excellent Caesar salad - croutons are amazing. Short rib poutine was also delicious as was the Korean Fried Chicken sandwich. Beautiful view of ocean, lively with a wedding reception in a separate room, happy to see the amount of older women eating out or by themselves.

I don’t know what happened, but we seem to come in at the change of shift, because our first server told us to take our time and then I realized she did it because she was then leaving the second server picked up by taking our order, but things got delivered so slowly I don’t know if it was the kitchen or the server had too many tables etc. etc. etc.

Sunday noon lunch/brunch was very pleasant, but due to the popularity of the restaurant at that hour a reservation is a requirement. Diners were even ordering and eating in the hotel lobby The new recipe for the clam chowder is good but not as superb as their original. Best burger ever!

Great location. The staff and restaurant did a very good job. Our table was by the deck where we had a view of Gloucester harbor and the evening sky. Beautiful. The food was very good and nicely presented. The service was attentive and friendly. I was there for a birthday celebration and would definitely return. It is not inexpensive but worth the extra cost.

All four of us had a different entree—all superb. The halibut infused with miso was exceptional. Wait staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Gorgeous view and atmosphere. My new favorite restaurant.

The food was unfortunately sub-par compared to our first dinning experience at 1606, which was during peak season in the Summer and was wonderful. Our more recent experience in the off season was disappointing. We were rushed by our server, despite barely dining for more than an hour and the fact that there was no wait and many empty tables. I ordered butternut tortellini which came as lobster tortellini despite the menu not mentioning any meat or seafood being involved in the dish. We ordered mussels as an appetizers which were somewhat grainy, and the server took them away before we were even halfway done. Would recommend 1606 in the Summer, but would not recommend in the off season. Food and service took a hit.

There were 3 of us. One person sent back the entree of beef short ribs as it was not good, it was all stringy - a bad texture. The rest of us loved our food. It was a bit noisy as it was busy and the music was a wee bit loud.

We had a great night! The ambiance is perfect for being on the water n this old fishing city. The decor is classy, a bit nautical and the view can't be beat. Our server, Kyle, was just attentive enough, never hovering. The menu has something for everyone from hush puppies and popovers to fancy steaks. We will be back again!

our meals and server were all top notch! Two had the delicious lamb special, I had a popover and a crab cake (my app crab cake was a perfect entree!). Desserts were wonderful and creative.

the service was a very good. Staff attentive but not overly so. Very busy yet food came out hot and in a well timed- fashion. Servers were well trained and interacted very well with clients. Beautiful property and beautiful setting
