Great selection of fresh oysters. Lobster roll was stuffed with plenty of lobster meet. Irish bartender was attentive and informed.

Sunday noon lunch/brunch was very pleasant, but due to the popularity of the restaurant at that hour a reservation is a requirement. Diners were even ordering and eating in the hotel lobby The new recipe for the clam chowder is good but not as superb as their original. Best burger ever!

Great location. The staff and restaurant did a very good job. Our table was by the deck where we had a view of Gloucester harbor and the evening sky. Beautiful. The food was very good and nicely presented. The service was attentive and friendly. I was there for a birthday celebration and would definitely return. It is not inexpensive but worth the extra cost.

All four of us had a different entree—all superb. The halibut infused with miso was exceptional. Wait staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Gorgeous view and atmosphere. My new favorite restaurant.

The food was unfortunately sub-par compared to our first dinning experience at 1606, which was during peak season in the Summer and was wonderful. Our more recent experience in the off season was disappointing. We were rushed by our server, despite barely dining for more than an hour and the fact that there was no wait and many empty tables. I ordered butternut tortellini which came as lobster tortellini despite the menu not mentioning any meat or seafood being involved in the dish. We ordered mussels as an appetizers which were somewhat grainy, and the server took them away before we were even halfway done. Would recommend 1606 in the Summer, but would not recommend in the off season. Food and service took a hit.

There were 3 of us. One person sent back the entree of beef short ribs as it was not good, it was all stringy - a bad texture. The rest of us loved our food. It was a bit noisy as it was busy and the music was a wee bit loud.

We had a great night! The ambiance is perfect for being on the water n this old fishing city. The decor is classy, a bit nautical and the view can't be beat. Our server, Kyle, was just attentive enough, never hovering. The menu has something for everyone from hush puppies and popovers to fancy steaks. We will be back again!

our meals and server were all top notch! Two had the delicious lamb special, I had a popover and a crab cake (my app crab cake was a perfect entree!). Desserts were wonderful and creative.

the service was a very good. Staff attentive but not overly so. Very busy yet food came out hot and in a well timed- fashion. Servers were well trained and interacted very well with clients. Beautiful property and beautiful setting

Had a lovely brunch with a stunning water view! We both had the Chicken & Waffles (again!). Served with two crispy-on-the-outside and juicy-on-the-inside pieces of chicken over a fluffy Belgian waffle. I have had it both with the chipotle butter and plain butter and either way is outstanding. Very attentive and friendly service ❤️

Service was incredible from beginning to end. The food was very good but I thought the wine options could have been a bit better for by the glass but we ordered a nice bottle of Sancerre and overall the experience was great.

Really nice dinner out. I ate at the bar. The bar tender was very attentive, but not too much. Good recommendations. Food was great, arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was hot. It's such a nice spot. Great view of the water.

Great experience! Service and atmosphere wonderful. Oysters were excellent as was the salmon and baked haddock. Only thing that wasn’t good was the crumb topping on the haddock. It was mushy/ pasty, it wasn’t a nice buttery crumb. We highly recommend and look forward to going back soon.

We waited almost a full thirty minutes between our soup and entrees arrival. Only to be served cold food with no apology or offer to make things right. The restaurant was quite beautiful with stunning views. Also the bar area had good live music and a fun vibe. Drinks were good although one bartender misinformed us that they didn’t carry a particular alcohol we ordered only to be offered that exact brand by another bartender 10 minutes later.
