Owner Allison Welsh curated the desirable restaurant space to feel inviting, yet elevated with modern artwork, mid-century furniture and a lush array of plants.     Food a C, service a C+, cocktails an A, and decor (atmosphere) an A. Tables not designed for end seating (they have a rail preventing full access) should not be used for end seating. Go for the drinks and atmosphere .

    We loved our time at 1417 French Bistro! In terms of food we loved the oysters, the escargot & the sorbet trio. The steak & frites were good but we are going to try the trout next time. The steak tartare was okay but I would not order it again because it just wasn’t my favorite tartare that I’ve had. Shockingly one of our favorite items was the half baguette! The butter & black salt that comes with the hot bread was just a really delicious pairing with the rest of the meal. The service was great & we loved the quiet environment! The staff brought out the food as it was ready & we enjoyed the pace a lot. They also provided just the right balance of service vs. space! We will definitely be back!

    It’s always excellent this experience the food spectacular. The service is great. The atmosphere is my favorite and Tori 💫 our waitress is the best.

    This is a very great gem! We had reservations for Sunday right when they opened and it was perfect! The service is wonderful, food was delicious and the outside patio was perfect and charming. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come for dinner!

    We had not been to 1417 in a while, as we had not liked the previous menu - disjointed. Appreciated the new menu that had a clear throughline, with some creative takes on French bistro classics. Service and ambience were both good. However, the prices are way out of line, e.g. $47 for a charcuterie board, $50 for an average sized portion of steak frites and $37 for half a chicken.
