A neighborhood gem! This family-run Italian restaurant offers a chic, rustic atmosphere in a downtown Austin landmark historic 1876 building. Enjoy outdoor sidewalk cafe dining just steps from the Texas State Capitol (dog friendly).
We feature a wide variety of authentic Italian pastas, pizza, meats, seafood & unique daily specials. (GF and Veg options). Daily specials highlight the freshest and most seasonal offerings, such as Rigatoni Alla Norcina (sausage with truffle oil), house-made Gnocchi Sorrentina, and Whole Roasted Fish. Gelato, sorbets and desserts are delicious and made in-house.
The cozy full-bar offers classic Italian cocktails and a sizable wine list representing Italy’s diverse regions.
All breads and pizza are made daily using naturally leavened dough and an ancient fermentation process; this improves digestibility and creates a delicious flavor. Neapolitan pizzas are baked at 1000 degrees in a wood-fired brick oven. Your new Austin favorite.

Very limited selection of ok food. Place is old, noisy. Menu was practically written on a napkin. Waitress was nice but not very knowledgeable.

Always love coming here. Food is amazing and they always have different off menu food specials. Service is top notch and the restaurant has great ambience.

Celebrating a birthday. It was a Special experience at Quattro. Awesome food!! Only complaint- too loud. Will request table on perimeter in the future.

Exceptional Italian food. Specials and full menu always tempting and delicious. Always reserve a table when in Austin. For summer, I highly recommend the melon and prosciutto. Two large sections of cantaloupe and a large slice of prosciutto. Their pizza makes a great appetizer for a table of four. I love the crust of their handmade pie. The pasta is all fresh. The owner is always there, welcoming customers, the sign of a great neighborhood restaurant.

Everything is great in Chef Gianfranco's place on Congress Ave. The blackboard specials are rotating mainstays depending on the freshest ingredients available. Shrimp and asparagus over house-made pappardelle are always a go-to when available. His bread and focaccia are the best anywhere in Austin. He always has a nice Italy-centered wine list that he knows like his cousins. Nice grappas to bookend a meal, as well as house-made gelato. Friendly, attentive staff.

We had a wonderful evening at Quattro Gatti! Everything was delicious - the Rosemary Focaccia, all the salads, especially the beat salad. The pasta dishes were perfect! Yummy wine too! Quattro Gatti is a perfect place to have dinner before a performance at The Paramount or State Theater. They open a bit earlier to allow for plenty of time to have a leisurely meal before walking to the theater. It's located two blocks from the theaters. Check it out!! You won't be disappointed.

We were a group of 8 people and wanted to have a few appetizers and talk a little before our main course. The waitress constantly asked us to order so I told her we were taking our time to which she replied " you have to be out by 7:45", that was 2 hours away. When we did order the wrong food came so people had to wait (20 minutes) while others ate. Three of us had the Penne Arriabbiata, none of is could eat it, chicken was dry and rubbery and had an acidic flavor. Decided to order desert, waitress got frustrated with us because we weren't leaving. Again, wrong items served so we had to stay a little longer which really frustrated the waitress. Waitress was rude, food sucked, spent $550 for high school cafeteria food. The alcohol was good. NEVER going back.

I am not sure how I missed this place the last 8 years. It was absolutely fantastic. The rigatoni truffle sausage is a must try.
