A memorable dining experience with its authentic Greek dishes and warm atmosphere. The saganaki and lamb chops stood out with their exceptional taste and quality. Coupled with attentive service, the overall vibe at Pylos makes it a perfect spot for any occasion. Definitely a place to return to!

Second time eating at this lovely East Village restaurant. Excellent Mediterranean cuisine, good selection and portions. High points: the lamb chops, the pork shank and the shrimp/scallop dish over Greek egg noodles. We also had delicious stuffed grape leaves and a stack of fried zucchini and eggplant. Sauces were fresh and flavorful. A Greek wine we selected was perfect accompaniment to our food selections. Service was friendly and not intrusive. We would definitely recommend.

Excellent Greek food! The menu was slightly limited, but everything we tried was delicious. You must try the Galaktoboureko dessert! I've never had it prepared that way and out was amazing!

This is a super little place and we enjoyed our Greek Easter meal very much. Great food excellent service and an all around great time. It might be a little off the beaten path but we'll worth the effort.

Food always excellent and properly priced. Secondary Service staff needs better timing on removing dishes. Our plates were being removed before we were finished with the course.

I would give it 5 if it weren't Michellin and had compatible prices. I ordered scallop on a bed of arugula and beans, grilled octopus with balsamic sauce, roasted potatoes, a kind of moussaka and grilled fish with pistachio crust and supposedly pistachio pesto sauce. For dessert, chocolate mousse with ouzo. I noticed an acidic flavor throughout the dish. It could be too much lemon or vinegar, I don't know. Good food, but not unforgettable and expensive

We have been coming to Pylos for over 20 years, and it never disappoints. This was the first time in a long while, and it was maybe the best it’s ever been! The food and service were outstanding, and the restaurant as pretty as always. I suppose the mesh sheets on the ceiling covering the clay pots are a safety precaution? They do take away from the beauty of the pots but I understand if it’s necessary. I can’t wait to go back!

We already had reservations for dinner elsewhere, but weren't really feeling it and decided to search for something else. Landed on Pylos and its many great reviews, so we changed plans... and we're so glad we did! A wonderful dinner experience, and probably the BEST meal we had during our trip! The interior is an upscale but casual and comfortable place. The ceiling is creatively lined with clay pots, and tables were neatly organized throughout the long narrow space. Our server, Tamera (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly, sorry!) was wonderful! She was patient, knowing it was our first time, and she did a wonderful job of guiding us through the menu and helping us narrow down our choices (because we wanted EVERYTHING!!) We started with the complimentary pita and humus, and we ordered pitakia kaisarias- meat and cheese filled phyllo triangles, saganaki, and grilled octopus (htapothi scharas). Fantastic! I initially wanted to try the lamb chops but decided to go with something lighter since we had all those wonderful appetizers. I chose the grilled branzino with patates psites (Greek lemon potatoes) and my husband chose pastitsio, one of his favorites. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the pastitsio was the best restaurant pastitsio we've ever had. Some places are too heavy on the cinnamon, but this was perfect in that it elevated the flavor without overpowering it. We shared a beautiful bottle of wine from the Greek Macedonian region of Florina. Perfect compliment to the meal. We enjoyed an anniversary dessert of Galaktobourekakia. Miniature version of galaktoboureko. Semolina custard filled phyllo triangles drizzled with honey. So delicious! It's also inspired me to try making this style of mini galaktoboureko myself! Eat here, enjoy it, but don't tell everyone about how great it was... we'd like to still be able to get a reservation here when we return! Efharisto, Pylos!

We had dinner with another couple and it was delightful. The service was pleasant and informative. The pacing was the right balance between efficient and not rushed. The food was really good. Really good. Would highly recommend.

Lovely setting; one of those increasingly rare places where you can actually have a conversation with your dinner companions without yelling at them or straining to hear over the unneccesarily loud music. Attentive service and fantastic food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Strongly recommend the pikilia, horiatiki and whole fish. We will be back!

My husband and I had been regular diners at Pylos before we chose to do some traveling, including to Greece where we have relatives. We love the authencity of the recipes and food at Pylos, the atmosphere, and wonderful service. Our reservation was at the end of lunch/brunch, but we were able to enjoy almost the full menu, all of our plates remarkably good and flavorful. Pylos has an easy, but lovely decor, reminiscent of the islands, incorporating the sense of blue skies and seas, white washed stone, and comfortable seating. But go for the food. Honestly, it is the best and closest to the recipes we both enjoyed in our family celebrations and while dining in the islands. The ownership and staff take good care of their restaurant, like its home, and treat their customers as close to guests as they desire. Just tops. We thank them for a great meal and relaxing experience.

If the Valentine's Day experience is at all indicative of what a normal night at Pylos is .... run don't walk. The food was incredible and the service matched it. I also need to call out the ambience which was modern and chic. I can't wait to go back.

Quality food. Tables spaced nicely, but the people at next table had very loud voices. Wine by the glass was very limited. The choice was a red or a white. They were adequate, but did not enhance the meal or the experience. Was amazed there were not at least choices of red by the glass.

Great feel inside the restaurant. Greece came alive . The waiters were greek and the decore was just like being in Athens. The melted cheese appitizer was fantastic. Pulpo exceptional. The branzino was a huge portion. The lamb shank was like butter and fell off the bone. I'll be back.

On a Monday evening, this was a great place for a quiet and delicious meal of grilled fish. We arrived for a 6:00pm reservation and lingered till 9:00. I imagine it is often much busier.

The recent visit to Pylos offered a delightful journey through authentic Greek cuisine, though it was somewhat marred by the restaurant's bustling noise level. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the array of mezzes and the fish. Each dish was a masterful blend of traditional flavors and modern culinary art. The tzatziki was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the spanakopita had just the right flakiness, and the dolmades were a delightful surprise, with a savory filling that was both rich and satisfying. Moving on to the main course, the fish and calamari were standouts. The fish, cooked to perfection, flaked off at the touch of a fork and was seasoned to enhance its natural flavors without overpowering them. The calamari was equally impressive, tender on the inside with a golden, crispy exterior. It was evident that the kitchen prioritizes freshness and quality in their seafood selection. However, the dining experience was somewhat diminished by the high noise level in the restaurant. Pylos was great. Full stop. The food was inventive and lovely while the service was topnotch. We ordered many dishes but the kitchen paced the meal so that we were never overwhelmed with food or left waiting too long. I can think of numerous restaurants, particularly post-covid, that cost 3x what Pylos charges while offering less than half the level of service. We will definitely be back.

Amazing experience! Very happy with our choice for new year dinner. We went with our son and they happily prepared a kid meal for him, despite I Booked an experience with a prefix menu. Food was best in class, the best lobster I've had hands down. 100% recommended!

Each time we go to Pylos it’s a delicious experience. We had the feta with black sesame seed appetizer—really good! The grilled lamb chops are always a winner! For dessert, the phyllo dough with Greek custard and honey was a perfect ending! Good service; nice atmosphere. It’s always a special place to eat.
