The restaurant was somewhat busy but not overly. Our service was slow, our waiter was not attentive, our food was luke warm and the ribeye steak was not cooked as ordered-sent back to kitchen. Our experience took over 2 1/2 hours from start to finish. Not sure if we will be back or recommend. Very disappointed needless to say.

I have been a regular at Portland City Grill for many years, appreciating its ambiance and dining offerings. However, my recent visit for my parents' 48th wedding anniversary was notably disappointing, a stark contrast to previous experiences. Our evening felt uncomfortably rushed. Even as we were still enjoying our meals, the bus staff began clearing our plates, some of which still had food on them. This rushed service detracted significantly from our ability to enjoy our special family occasion at a leisurely pace. Additionally, a major letdown was the temperature of the food. When our dishes arrived, they were cold. I specifically requested that my potatoes be warmed up, and although the staff did provide a new serving, the replacement was, unfortunately, also cold. This was particularly disheartening as the reasonable prices usually reflect not just the quality but also the proper service and presentation of the food. Furthermore, the total bill for our dinner amounted to over $800, which compounded our disappointment given the issues with service and food temperature. For such a significant expenditure, one expects both the food and the service to be impeccable. Overall, this experience did not meet the standard I have come to expect from Portland City Grill, especially given the significance of the occasion. I hope this incident is an anomaly and not indicative of a downward trend in service and quality.

Had a great time here. The view is spectacular, and the food is great. I had the seafood trio and it was awesome. The drinks were nice as well. Only thing is that our drink and dessert orders were forgotten and had to be reminded, but our waiter was on it.

We have dined here several times before but this time it was extra special because it was my son’s 21st birthday. The food was excellent but the service was very disappointing. We had to constantly try to find our waitress and when she did show up she’d be gone again for way too long. I understand that they may have been understaffed but this is a very nice restaurant and customers expect top notch service.

Restaurants with a good view are usually a tourist trap. This restaurant is a very pleasant exception. Not only does it have the best view in town; it also has great food and service. And the prices are reasonable for what you get. I travel internationally a lot and can highly recommend this place.

The city views were amazing, and the food was even better!! The service was outstanding, and the flavors and textures of the entrees were incredible. We took clients out, and they are still talking about it! It was a memory for everyone there!

My steak was over cooked and the service was horrifically slow even though it was nearly empty. The exotic mojito was also the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life. I had my friend try it and he agreed that it was horrible. Beautiful view and nice ambience. Was not worth the $250 I spent.

I have eaten at PCG probably 20+ times over the years but it has been a few years since I have been. I am sad to say the food, ambiance and service is subpar. The menu is now half what it used to be. PCG had a rack of lamb that was the best I ever had in the country. Now it is a lamb chop that is small and uninspired. The seating was extremely tight and I had people at my table who were continually getting bumped from behind as people tried to squeeze by. It was very busy which made the restaurant loud to the point people on the ends of my table set for 6 had an impossible time hearing any conversation that wasn't next to them. While the servers were pleasant it took nearly 90 minutes after we were seated for the food to come out. The mixed green salad which used to be amazing is now basic. My mom's filet was asked to be medium well done and it was medium rare at best. We didn't return it because we didn't know how long it would take to get it back. Portland City Grill used to be reliably great food, service and ambiance with a broad menu to appeal to anyone. It pains me to write this but I doubt I will come back it is not close to what it used to be.

The draw here is definitely the view. Noise level is greater than I like for fine dining. Food was fair but not exceptional. Service was very pleasant and cordial but slow.

The best view! Floor to ceiling windows all the way around the restaurant with views of the city and mountains. Everything was delicious and portions were on the bigger side - apps, entrees, dessert, drinks. The Kung Pao Calamari was the most unique and delicious take on fried calamari that I have ever tried!

Server was friendly, but everything took way too long. Drink orders even filling water. The biggest letdown was the entrée. I ordered their fillet with lobster tail, always medium rare on a steak. The steak came out and was easily well done. The server apologized and took it back. About 15 minutes later, after everyone else in my table was pretty much done eating, my plate came back. The bummer was now my potatoes and asparagus and lobster tail were all cold and I had a new steak. I cut into the steak and it was literally raw. Again, the server came over and advised against eating it, and said she would have the kitchen fix it again. I said don’t bother, it’s apparent that your chef can’t cook a simple steak, so I was pretty much done at that point. Again the server was very nice, but the overall service sucked, and the food was terrible. I will not be going back. There are way too many quality restaurants in Portland for me to waste my time and money on this one.

Booked my family for Easter brunch. We were provided a dinner menu. The atmosphere was very odd for Easter brunch. It was price fixe menu with dinner items only. If the restaurant didn't want to do a breakfast or brunch, they shouldn't have been open about that on the web site or simply not accepted reservations. This is a fine restaurant for dinner, but exceptionally poor for brunch or a holiday brunch. This was a very unusual experience that we were not expecting at all.

I got the Surf + Turf Roll it was good but not exceptional. I also got the cocktail SPICY PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA and it was really good. I got the petit filet, it was good but not great. The asparagus were not as soft as I could hope and the meat was well cooked but something was missing to make it really tasty. I wish there were more options for the vegetables and sauces. The restaurant itself is nice and the view from the windows is amazing. The service was great too.

Once again, Portland City Grill delivered on all levels that matter. I’m from New Orleans originally and when I Jambalaya offered on a menu I’m cautious that it will hit home. This one did, right on target. Will be back for more. And the service was perfect as well.

I love Portland City Grill so much! It is my favorite place to go to in the city whenever I want to celebrate some thing or bring a visitor to Portland. The views are outstanding number one in the city. The food is incredible. Every bite is delicious. The service was amazing really allow us to legally eat our meal and I did not feel rushed or pressured in anyway.

Food was tasty. Service was excellent. Bread was meh. I had put in a special request for a window seat because it was my wife's 70th birthday but they told us we would need to wait 30' or more for a table to open up.

My $85 seafood tower turned out to be probably less than a pounds worth of seafood put in a bowl with a large amount of ice. (and placed on a completely unnecessary, spinning turn table) So disappointing and certainly not worth the money. The oysters were very, very small, as were the two tiny clams. Every portion was ridiculously small… I got the impression that the waiter was embarrassed to serve it, understandably so. We were also seated at an eight top table… Four of us. We won’t be back and won’t send friends.
