Porter & luke's opened in 2012 and was selected as one of the top ten new restaurants in New Orleans. We have also been Featured in the new Fox TV food show Flip MY Food w/ Chef Jeff. We are focused on fresh quality ingredients and great service. We pride ourselves in our guests having the premier dining experience. Food and service was excellent and were seated immediately for our reservation. The only complaint is the noise level as the acoustics are very bad and hard to have conversations at our table. Not sure what can be done to reduce the noise level.

Food was excellent especially the red fish in the shell with crabmeat on top! Black whiskey sour was just right! Loved our waitress, Erica! We’ll definitely be back!

Normally good food, but not on Mothers Day & too expensive. ordered soft shell crab for $52 did not get a whole crab, just pieces & pasta

Porter and Luke's is consistently dependable for good quality, local food. However, last night I ordered dessert, a slice of doberge cake. When we received the bill, the slice of cake cost $13.00. When I paid the bill, I asked the server if he knew why one slice of cake was priced so high. He told me it's because their purveyor is "Debbie does Doberge," and that the company's cakes are high priced. I'm offended that the restaurant would charge so much for an average dessert, a medium size slice of cake. It feels like price gouging. It will make me think twice about dining at Porter and Luke's again.

Disappointing Easter lunch. While the service was fantastic, the food was underwhelming — prime rib was over cooked and tough despite asking for rare. And redfish was very fishy making it almost inedible. Very sad.

We decided for one of the Easter Specials. Started with appetizer, eggplant, very good. Then we eat chose seafood gumbo, gumbo had not seafood. Waiter offered a bowl to take home, we told him no thanks. Then Caesar salad, very little dressing. We both decided on baked crusted chicken with mashed potatoes. Chicken very juicy, potatoes very good. We then decided to get a piece of carrot cake to take home, they were already out. We had a reservation @ 11:45. Hard to believe they ran out out cake that early. Waiter was very good and attentive to our table. We decided to try another cake to take home. Overall experience was good for a Special Day!

Lunch was delicious I had the eggplant Sophie! Noise level was very loud and the lighting was too bright in dinning area but I sat in the bar area at a high top do to the lighting and noise level the ambience was perfect there in the bar area

Food is always cooked perfectly . It was lunch so we all got salads . They were large and very well put together. I had the chicken Caesar, wife had the wedge trio. My granddaughter got the kids chicken meal which was huge . And my niece got the kids spaghetti and meatball. Service is always good and friendly .

We had a little wait because they were so busy, but were served immediately by the maître D herself. The blue crab dip to start was incredible! I had the ribeye with asparagus and potatoes, and my husband had the seafood platter. A buttery Chardonnay and chocolate cake for dessert. We left OVER full. The owner even came over to apologize for the wait and an invitation to come back! 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

Our food was excellent!!! The 16 oz Prime Ribeye could be cut with a butter knife!! Service was great too!! We highly recommend and will definitely be back!!!

We made a reservation here for Valentine’s Day. We wanted to try something new over our regular place. I’ll make it short, the service was ok, aside from our waitress who was particularly rude, and seemed to be more catering to the older couples than us. We had only seen her twice within our entire meal. The food was good, the salmon was very small, and my fries were cold. Noise level is very high, and the seating is just down right horrible. We were sat in a booth / table that has occupants on both sides of you. I do not blame anyone for this, as it was the only table available but it’s very confined it’s definitely not a great place for a romantic dinner for 2 in my opinion. Aside from the seating and service the food was actually enjoyable, we just took ours to go not long after getting it though.

Had reservations. Waited two hours to get food and it wasn't cooked. Manager refused to help. Waiter did the best he could.

It was busy for Valentine’s Day. The appetizers took a long time to arrive. 1 arrived after the entrees. But they didn’t charge us for it, which was nice. I would rather pay and have it delivered first though. Not a deal breaker. Love the food. Chad was a great server. Look like more personnel are needed on Valentine’s Day. We will definitely go back.

I had the wedge salad, the redfish on the half shell and the red velvet cake. My husband had the crab appetizer and the redfish & the cake. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend Porter & Luke’s.

Wonderful Galentine lunch! I enjoyed a Wedge salad with crispy fried oysters added. The Creole salad & Eggplant pasta dishes looked delicious as well. Perfect spot for good food & easy dining.

Dining room was very crowded and noisy so we opted for bar seating which was much better. The barman/server, Danny, was terrific. Food was delicious - some of the best onion rings ever, lovely salad with my added fried oysters - delicious.

Hadn't been to P & L since the renovation. What used to be an really nice ambiance now resembles a BBQ joint. Butcher and paper napkins instead of tablecloths and linens. Noise level is way too high due to no carpeting and wall additions. Tables crammed together - I was jostled not once but 3 times by 1) the manager 2) server 3) busboy. Only the busboy stopped to apologize. Food is OK but it's not the relaxed, nice dining experience it used to be. I won't be back. Too many other nice places in Metairie.

Food is fine- local and neighborhood. Service is very good. Pleasant, quick, and attentive. Noise--- WAY TOO LOUD. Owners need to put something on walls to deaden noise.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Porter and Luke's! The food was absolutely delicious, as always! I was disappointed that you were out of the Doberge King Cake. That was one of the main reasons I chose your restaurant! Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly but seemed to disappear quite often. We arrived at 11:15am so there weren't many people in the place yet. We needed a few minutes to look over the menu but, when we were ready to order, our waitress was nowhere to be seen. We waited for quite a while before we could flag her down to place our order. Also, it took her a long time to deal with our checks. By then, y'all had gotten busy though. I would definitely go back but I'd be disappointed if I got the same waitress.

Great place to eat in Metairie, Louisiana. Food was delicious and atmosphere is cordial. The bar is very nice with TV's. Service was excellent and very friendly. This restaurant has been a staple in Metairie for a long time, and you won't be disappointed.

2 of 4 people in our party didnt like the way the food was prepared. One rejected their meal entirely as he provided very specific instructions for which the meal was not prepared as requested.

The food is absolutely delicious. The pecan crusted catfish has a battered exterior with nice size pieces of pecan, and the fish itself is tender, flaky, and delicious. Sides of green beans and potatoes were fabulous. My daughter ordered the salmon and asparagus and cleaned her plate! Highly recommend!!!

Went for New Years and there was a fixed menu. They were out of soup, 2 of the entrees and horse radish. The fettuccine pasta was an over sauced mush of angel hair pasta. It was disappointing. I felt sorry for the waitstaff that had to list the items not available on the menu. Very poor planning on the restaurant's part.

NIGHTMARE! I had this reservation for a week. They made us wait over an hour to sit. Only to find out once we were seated THEY COMPLETELY RAN OUT OF FOOD. ON NEW YEARS EVE. What kind of restaurant does this? Shut this place down. The worst part is the manager hid in the kitchen the whole time—he made the hostess and two waiters take the brunt. EPIC FAIL.

What was sold as Prime Rib for $60+ dollars, was a cheap sirloin steak which was tough and overcooked. (Ordered rare) The potatoes and string beans were bland. The crab & corn bisque and caesar salad were the highlights of the meal. Service was fine, although a bit rushed.

Food is excellent. I had the hot blue crab dip, which I highly recommend. I also had the eggplant Sophie, which was delicious. I finished with a slice of doberge carrot cake which was sold as the chef’s kiss, and it was. Portions were healthy, so I definitely did not finish any of the food and enjoyed the extra portions over several days. As mentioned by other guests, the lighting in the main dining room is very bright and gives a cafeteria-like feeling, but it was not so bad that one cannot enjoy the meal.

ALWAYS phenomenal! We love going to P&L. From making our reservations on Open Table to our last bite, it's just the BEST! We love the wait staff there - ALL great and they take care of you with superior service. The prices are very good and they give you a LOT of food - so take home some and enjoy again! The best of the best!
