This place is a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was incredible. The location is perfect, and the service was some of the best we've ever experienced - friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Forget about pretentious twists - this is authentic Argentinian cuisine done right. Every dish was perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor, and true to its roots. My partner, who grew up in Buenos Aires, couldn't stop raving about every single bite. That's the mark of true authenticity! The menu is very reasonably priced, making this a fantastic value. If you're looking for an outstanding Argentinian dining experience, look no further! You won't be disappointed.

Friendly, attentive service. My wife had the salmon, I had the Branzino special with asparagus. Both were nicely seasoned. The wine recommendation was just right.

Easy reservations, great service and we felt well taken care of but the food just didn’t blow us away. We went here with another couple and ordered separate dishes, the food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t super “wow!” either.

Porteno continues to be an outstanding restaurant in the Chelsea gallery district. The appetizers, entrees, desserts, wines, and cocktails are delicious. The service is gracious. The space is intimate and tasteful. What a gem!

Went with a friend. Food was good. Fiket mignon was very goood. Boulibase(spelling) was okay, small, not worth it. Drinks were good. Deserts were way overpriced even in today’s Market. Coffee was cold. Desert was not served with coffee until I asked. That being said, place was packed. It’s good, not great.

Great place highly recommend, food was delicious and wasn’t a huge place perfect ambiance. Very accommodating staff, my wife and I got there early for a reservation they seated us and served us some apps and drinks, then gave us a larger table once our friends arrived.

Had early dinner on a windy rainy night before theatre and so restaurant was ours. Staff and food were great we recommend to others looking for a small warm neighborhood like vibe

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays and each of the staff members we interacted with was pleasantly dressed as well--this shows how much the employees care to be there/enjoy their work! It was nice to see :)

Cute little place, and reasonably priced, at least compared to the exorbitant eateries at nearby Hudson Yards. Service fine, food fine (the empanadas were excellent), but perhaps ever-so-slightly lacking in ambiance. Still, cozy. Homey, even.

I love this restaurant but I found my entree to be below expectations as far as taste and texture (milenesa beef dish). The entree lacked sauce and flavor. I will order other things in the future. The empanadas, salad, and desert were excellent as usual. The service is mixed. Our particular waiter was rushing us and could have paced the dishes out less hurriedly to give us time to digest the appetizers. I will return with my expectations adjusted.

For a restaurant with 9 tables and limited space it works. Starting with drinks, inventive and well executed. The food was delicious from appetizers to dessert. Save room for dessert. Waitstaff had solid recommendations and were more than efficient and friendly. A must go too!

We made a last minute reservation and so glad we found this tiny little gem. Only 9-10 tables, very nice ambience and DELICIOUS South American cuisine. Perfect for a quiet date night.

Always an excellent experience at Porteno. The food and wine. The service. And the ambiance. Any meal that starts w their empanadas is going to be great! Excellent selection of pasta, steak, and seafood. Can't wait to return!

Food and service were great. Restaurant is quiet and clean. Steak and kale salad was superb. Great spot for a pre-performance dinner at the Shed at Hudson Yards. Would definitely go again and definitely recommend.
