Nous savons que le mot « fusion » a été employé pour désigner un grand nombre de choses, que ce soit l'hamburger Hula comme les lasagnes mexicaines. Et au Poor Calvin's, c'est l'est qui rencontre le sud. Ce restaurant créatif et innovant vous servira des plats que vous n'aurez probablement jamais goûté à Atlanta. Après avoir travaillé dans les cuisines du monde entier, Calvin Phan a voulu faire un peu bouger les choses. Et c'est ainsi que les épices thaï ont été introduites dans le mac'n cheese. Calvin apporte aux ingrédients du sud, notamment au loup de mer et au poulet frit, une touche d'inspiration asiatique créative (et aussi quelques épices). Pour nous, un classique mac'n cheese ne pouvait pas être meilleur, puis nous avons testé la drôle de suggestion de Calvin de ce classique démodé, agrémenté de morceaux de homard et d'une pincée d'épices thaï. Sur la même approche, d'autres plats plus innovants ont été crées jour après jour par Calvin Phan. Son dévouement et son attention aux détails sont inscrits dans chaque plat et dessert. Vous ne serez pas déçu.

Absolutely Outstanding!! Was able to get outdoor seating on a beautiful night. Anthony's service was touch notch as was his knowledge of the dishes, flavors and how they were prepared. Love this in a server and the philosophy in an establishment

Amazing dining experience. This place is truly amazing with such a cool vibe. The host was so friendly and accommodating that he set a wonderful tone for the beginning of our dinner. The food was so incredible and our server Enoch made some wonderful recommendations. We cannot wait to come back! This is a must visit in downtown Atlanta.

Lena was amazing! We were first timers and she took the time to recommend cocktails and food based on our taste. She was super attentive and knowledgeable. I’d come back for her service alone, but the food will definitely bring me back!! Great vibe!

The food was sooooo good, ambiance was pretty good as well just noisy! You get a huge portion for the price and it tastes amazing but just be prepared to pay your next three electric bills on dinner if you’re taking anyone out!

The sea bass was good but I didn’t enjoy the seafood spring rolls from the appetizer menu. I was also surprised to see 19% gratuity charged for just two of us. Very noisy and close seating. We had a great waiter but not overly impressed with the food.

Chef Calvin knocked this one out of the park - ube-infused risotto with seafood was amazing, but just as good were the newest appetizer of crab beignets. The best part of the night, however, was our server Joy. If you want the best overall experience (because the food is always amazing), ask for Joy. She will make your night!

Amazing dinner experience! Anthony took great care of us. The receptionist was great too! Our plane got in later than expected and she was able to move our reservations! We had the Mussels Seafood Curry and seafood pad Thai then ended it with cream brûlée! We’ll be back!

Excellent! Service and food were amazing. I had the duck and lobster. The portions are very large. given the size of the restaurant I was able to see many different dishes ordered by other customers. Everything looked amazing. I will be back but next time will share an entree.

The food and restaurant was a really great experience. I like that I could eat and drink in peace, the presentation of the food and drinks were beautiful and I’ll definitely return. Clayton was our server. He was nice and knowledgeable.

My wife and I are not from Atlanta and found Poor Calvin’s roughly four years ago. We try to have dinner or brunch whenever possible. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu . Our entrees were the best we have had, anywhere, in quite a while. Everything was fantastic.

For years, I've driven past Poor Calvin's but never eaten there. Based on enthusiastic recommendations from friends, we finally had dinner there. I'll get to the food, but the greeting from the "front of the house" was a welcome that felt so genuine it struck every member of our party. The waitstaff table visits were not invasive, were truly engaging and without a hint of "I'm pretty busy but I'll talk with you if I have to..." But the service wasn't casual, it was polished, professional and welcoming. Every app and the 2 entrees we shared were exceptional in flavor, texture and appearance. Squid ink pasta with a melange of fresh seafood was not overcooked and was deliciously highlighted with flavors only someone with knowledge and cojones would combine. Overall, Poor Calvin's was one of the best dining experiences we've had in Atlanta in a long time. It might have been the best restaurant meal we've eaten in 5 years.

A hidden gem with some amazing food! I’ve been here a few times and the customer service never miss. The fried frog legs are top tier along with the lobster fried rice.

It is a regular stop overtime I’m in Atlanta. Chef Calvin was in the kitchen on this particular night, we had his seafood special and it was great. I highly recommend eating here, you won’t be disappointed.

Great experience cerebrating my wife and her sisters birthday. Our waiter was very knowledgeable when explaining the history and the meal. We will definitely return and make this a part of our tradition.
