Persepolis Is a Persian/ Mediterranean restaurant with a dynamic atmosphere and 20 years of experience! The restaurant is famous for verity of kebabs and refreshing salads and gently spiced grilled meats. The yogurt and cucumber blended with a little mint is made exceedingly well and is an ideal cool compliment to Persepolis’ rounds of Pita & Barbari bread. Our kebabs which include moist and delicious salmon or saffron chicken are served without heavy sauces. Instead they are served with a choice of four rices including an intriguing blend of Basmati rice and marinated sour cherries. Our personalized wine list truly compliments our cuisine. The Greek salad had carrots on it, which is no biggie, but it should have been my first clue that things were about to get bad fast. The chicken and lamb were so overcooked that I through them away on the walk home. The rice pudding was orange and tasted awful. We did not eat the rice pudding at all, and they still charged us for it. I rarely give negative feedback at restaurants, but this place was so awful I felt I had to.

The lamb shank ($33) was overcooked, but it got what flavor was there from the meat juice in the bowl that the lamb shank was served in. It came with a choice of rice or salad.

Based on my visit three years ago, I was really looking forward to dining here. However, the quality has really gone down. The “saffron“ rice and chicken were yellow, but didn’t seem to have a trace of saffron. They seem to be using the cheapest possible oils and ingredients. The pieces of beef in the beef stew were small and minimal. The baba ghanoush was served piping hot, which was new, but without any particular flavor. On the other hand, the yogurt with cucumbers was excellent. Nice and rich and flavorful. It seems they are trying to appeal to American taste buds, and have given up on authentic Persian flavors and time consuming preparation, which makes it so delicious.

There were 4 of us at dinner. We started with 3 appetizers we shared: Baba, a Persian eggplant dish was excellent. Eggplant Mirza was also excellent. Our entrees were 3 different vegetarian stews; gaimen badamjan, ghormeh sabzi. They were both very good. The service was outstanding. We had a great time enjoying out wonderful food and outstanding service.

Persepolis has been in our neighborhood for years but we never got there. It's a spacious but intimate-feeling restaurant with very attentive, friendly service and excellent (and abundant!) food. Also a range of very good variations on the mojito! The eggplant appetizers and, of course, kebabs are excellent. Very nice decor.

Our dinner was very oily, to a disgusting extent. Although the food was flavorful, every spoonful of stew was visibly doused in oil. We tried to dab some off the surface but it was kind of futile.

Shrimp was not fresh. Stew was way too sweet. Italian salad dressing tasted like from the bottle and tomatoes were hard as a rock/not ripe and cheap. Food came lukewarm.

The whole Persepolis experience is excellent and remarkably consistent. My husband and I have been coming here since the late 1990’s and have always had a delicious meal, great service and memorable cocktails! Decor is lovely too!

The Dolmeh, Sambusa and Hummus appetizers were perfectly prepared; the Lemon Chicken with Rice & Cherries was wonderful; and the Sesame Tahini sauce was absolutely delicious!! !

Chef needs to revisit the kubideh recipe. Onions are too large and too much filler was added to the meat. Everything else was excellent.

They’re always friendly and accommodating. We had a reservation, the restaurant was packed, the original table they gave us was too small, and instead of being difficult they immediately set up a proper table so that we were comfortable. There was never a question. And the food is delicious.

Food was authentic and delicious. The waiter brought me a small bowl of something I almost chose just to try - and it was yummy! Delicious wine and good HH prices. Everything made it a lovely experience.
