We went for Mother’s Day after browsing the menu online. However when we got there we were given one option only which was a $215 brunch per person. We all eat light and healthy and planned to get salad or light lunch and suddenly have this insane $1000 bill for four?! We had no idea and certainly never would have come here — but once you are seated on the busiest day of the year you are stuck. The food was buffet style, which is fine but honestly the quality was hugely lacking for the price and a buffet. We felt very scammed and let down by the limited options and cost per person. They should mention when calling to confirm as well that this is an experience that you are forced into their menu and pricing, and make it obvious when initially booking thru open table. I would have cancelled and not made this reservation if I knew. I booked this several weeks ago and there was zero mention of this cost. Will not be back after this and a shame since I love the resort, but this ruined my day and perception of the restaurant. If they are willing to make it right I would give it another try.

Our server was outstanding, he was so helpful and seemed to anticipate our needs ahead of us. He was very friendly and knowledgable. The food we ordered was very tasty and well prepared. I would say it was a bit over priced - the the ambiance in addition to the service and food were wonderful. This is a favorite of ours!

Last night we had a fantastic meal at this restaurant – the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent. Luis, our server was very attentive and personable. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience and a beautiful location.

The ocean view from the outdoor veranda is breathtaking. The ambiance was calm and enjoyable. The drinks were good, the crab cake (only one) was tasty. The Chilean seabass was excellent, very flavorful and moist. The Wagyu steak was good but the portion was not big. The service was excellent! We went for a special occasion and it lived up to our best expectations. Would definitely return.

Anthony was a great waiter. I really appreciate the bottle of wine being on the table before the entree comes. The presentation for my husband’s Lamb chops was very unique. Beautiful restaurant.

This was our 2nd time. We ate outside on the patio both times. We had beautiful sunsets with a nice ocean view. The food was excellent as was the service.

There was a great view of the ocean and golf course, and the food was amazing. My wife had the Sea Bass, and I had the Ribeye steak. Both were delicious.

Wow! What an amazing business meal! I’d choose it for a date night in a heartbeat. While I have some jealousy for not ordering the seafood paella that looked outstanding on our table, I can’t complain about the Chilean sea bass, among the best of sea bass dishes I’ve ever had. Unique with its citrus flavors under a perfectly seared and seasoned fish that was cooked just right. Can’t wait to return!

From the moment we walked in the door we greeted warmly and professionally. Our table was amazing with a beautiful view. Our server, David, was excellent. He always used my name when he addressed me and gave us great recommendations on wine and food. He was worth every penny of our total experience. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the caviar fries. Delicious and worth the calories. Well done Pelican Grill!

For a few years I have been wanting to dine at the Pelican Grill in Newport Beach. Since our anniversary was approaching, what a better time to go. Upon our arrival we were given choices of where we wanted to sit to enjoy the ocean and sunset views. Tanner, who assisted our server, David, greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. David could not have been more fun and professional, catering to our every need. Our Pulpo / Octopus was superbly prepared. My Seafood Paella with huge scallops was spectacular. And my husband’s lamb chops were prepared to perfection. As a surprise to us we got an exquisitely decorated dessert from the chef to celebrate our anniversary. The prices are relative to the caliber of this restaurant, expect an average of $100-$150 per person with wine and desert. We are definitely recommending this restaurant as a must go for the wonderful experience.

I absolutely love Pelican Grill and Pelican Hill in general. From the moment we arrive at Valet, we’re met with great service. Jacob took care of us at valet and Aaron had some amazing recommendations for food and drinks and overall, great experience. We got to sit at the corner outdoor table and experience a wonderful sunset. This is why I continue coming back every few weeks! Love it.

Disappointing choice of seafood dishes. Dishes tasted good but not exceptional. The restaurant does not have acoustic tiles, thus the conversation had to be very loud.

Delicious as always Sea Bass, cooked perfect and the sauce is very complimentary. Also the grilled rib eye is exceptional and the house made A1 sauce is amazing.
