Fantastic experience from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Melony was lovely, explaining the teas and the savoury and sweet treats . She was attentive without being intrusive. Background pianist and harpist were amazing but not too loud that it interfered with the conversation. The setting is fantastic and felt luxurious and we were very comfortable and relaxed throughout. The Fairytale Afternoon Tea was a great way to celebrate my birthday - the Happy Birthday plate was a lovely touch too.

Delicious afternoon tea served by attentive knowledgeable staff in a lovely atmosphere. It was my partner's birthday and the staff presented him with a lovely plate of chocolate decorated strawberries with a message on the plate. Highly recommended

The staff was friendly, the tea selection was extensive, and all of the food was delicious. Peacock Alley was a beautiful setting for afternoon tea.

My wife and I went for our 20th wedding anniversary. We informed the Waldorf beforehand of our dietary requirements and this was met, without any compromise. The food was excellent as was the service from Harriet and her colleagues, who fully informed us of the food we were enjoying. The setting is lovely and it’s not over crowded. My only quibble would be in the cost, I felt it was a little strep, but that’s a personal opinion. Overall, a brilliant experience for a special day

The service was amazing, went here for a birthday treat for my daughter and I would do it again. I have problems eating some foods and they went above and beyond to make sure I wasn't left out.

It was a wonderful experience. We had afternoon tea for my daughters birthday. Our server was amazing, so polite and helpful and went above and beyond expected, helping us take family photos and presenting her with a happy birthday treat plate of chocolates. The hotel was fabulous. The dessert we’re out of this world and I was amazed at the volume of choice we had. We brought many home with us because we couldn’t finish them. The sandwich collection was well thought out, well presented and tasty but it didn’t suit all taste buds but the rest of the family really enjoyed the sandwich selection. If I was returning I would order al la carte and skip the sandwich selection then add on the dessert tray because the desserts are the highlight of the experience. I think pretty vintage teacups would add to the afternoon tea experience I was a bit dissapointed with the plain white. Huge selection of unlimited teas and coffee. A 10 out 10 experience would highly recommend and I will definitely be returning when I visit Edinburgh again. My daughter is vegetarian and they had a wonderful sandwich and dessert selection for her.

Thoroughly enjoyed a light lunch of the most gorgeously prepared sandwiches and Prosecco using beautiful cutlery and napkins in divine surroundings, waited on by the most helpful and friendly servers. The scones afterwards were too delicious! Love coming here and would highly recommend!

Have looked forward to Afternoon tea at your hotel for a long time and it was lovely! We sat 15 or so minutes after we were shown to our table and another 10 minutes before we had our tea and savouries which I thought was a bit of a wait we were hungry as it was 3.30 booking and we had not had any lunch! but everything else was very good your food and staff were lovely

Came to Edinburgh for a mini honeymoon break. Peacock Alley was the perfect way to end our trip. The staff are super welcoming and friendly. We highly enjoyed our Afternoon Tea and are certainly going to be coming back again soon.

Enjoyable afternoon for family gathering. Lovely open space although as someone hard of hearing I found it difficult acoustically, but glad to try the Peacock Alley experience. Lovely harp musician playing. Service was excellent from doorman to table staff and this was particularly important as one guest had access requirements. Disabled access and facilities good. As afternoon teas go there was Intriguing and colourful design to the cakes and nice range of savouries. Chocolate scones are not to our taste but this was a minor note as everything else was great quality and tasty. Big fan of Arran Cheese which was used within savoury selection.

Me and my friend had a lovely time with Harriet. Would highly recommend! This was a 10/10 experience for us. Quality food, quality tees, and quality people. On top of this, the place was very beautiful as well.

We had a lovely time being served afternoon tea by the wonderful Melony. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The room was beautiful. The tea service was delicious. 10/10. Made us want to stay at the hotel on our next trip.

I’m afraid the afternoon experience was not good. The service was poor and the sandwiches were too chunky - not nearly elegant enough. For what we were served, it was too expensive. I’m sorry to say there are other much better places for afternoon tea in Edinburgh Definitely a disappointment. Ruth Bayne

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea! Delicious Savouries, scones and cakes. Unlimited teas and coffees. Friendly attentive servers. All in beautiful surroundings. One of my favourite afternoon teas. Can't wait for my next visit.

We had afternoon tea. The food was excellent (couldnt finish it all!) and a great selection of teas available which were regularly refreshed. Staff were all really warm and welcoming.

Just a lovely relaxing environment with lovely music and friendly attentive staff (thanks Iona), and a really thoughtful selection of cakes and treats. Comfy chairs and no trying to rush us out.

A sublime fine dining experience & quite possibly the best meal we’ve ever eaten. The setting was just the right amount of luxurious but not at all pretentious or intimidating & very comfortable. The service was exemplary but personable & definitely added to the experience. It wasn’t a place that was on our radar, but is now & I can’t recommend or praise it enough. Truly worthy of a 10/10 culinary rating, with every dish a masterpiece & every taste a delight.

Best afternoon tea I’ve ever had. 6 savoury 2 scones and 6 cakes which were all delicious. Service was exceptional with a shout out to Anna who made us feel very special. Her customer service was above and beyond.

It is an ideal location for a civilised afternoon tea. Quiet enough to talk, spacious enough not to be overheard, and enough food to seriously consider skipping dinner. Thank goodness for the ability to box up the delicious cakes that I couldn't manage at the time. It is not the cheapest Afternoon Tea in town, but the quality is superb.

A super large (we needed a takeaway box) afternoon tea. Service was great, staff all very attentive. The food was very good, scones particularly nice, but the sandwiches were a little tricky to eat ( served on ciabatta bread) so I've dropped a star for that.

This was my second afternoon tea experience at Peacock Alley, this time for my birthday. It is such a beautiful location, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The tea, particularly the cakes, are exquisitely presented - and it all tastes delicious too. If I were to have one tiny criticism it would be that my friends vegetarian option savoury dishes were a little uninspiring. But otherwise it was a glorious afternoon made even more so by the little birthday touches you provided. Thank you.

Took my mum here for her belated birthday celebration since the weather stopped us from attending in December. We are both allergic to wheat and gluten and I just felt like everyone went above and beyond for us in every way. We didn’t miss out on any food, the gf adaptations were incredible and the surprise happy birthday plate was brilliant. Staff couldn’t do more for you and were so knowledgeable about the afternoon tea and the gluten allergy. All round we had a brilliant time and it was made special by everyone who served us. Thanks again!

We had afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. One word describes the whole experience- PERFECT. We were served by lovely Isla and another young lady whose name we did not get. Both were friendly, attentive and extremely professional. The food was delicious, the surroundings extremely comfortable and our welcome and farewell at the reception desk was extremely kind. Our thanks to all the staff who made our afternoon so memorable.

The Afternoon Tea is 10/10 (vegan menu). A real 5 star experience. The service is wonderful, from the minute you sit down. Extremely knowledgeable staff, who are patient and very helpful. The ambiance is wonderful, a pianist and harpist perfectly complimented the beautiful room.

Order-taking finally came after 25 minutes; waitress had no ability to help inform our tea choices; 20 minutes later no afternoon scones/tea. Had to prompt a waiter. Waitress came back to inform us no scones available (for an afternoon tea special booked 3.15!) I left under time constraints t having had no tea/food. Completely ruined my treat for long-last relatives not seen in 19 years.

Expérience décevante. Les plats salés sont bons mais les pâtisseries sont totalement démodées et dénuées de tout intérêt gustatif. De surcroît l’afternoon tea nous a été facturé pour 4 adultes alors que nous étions avec deux enfants. Le service est de qualité.

The experience of the actual place is actually beautiful, the waiters super friendly and nice. However service super super slow. Savory were excellent. Sweets and scones disappointing. Such a shame for such a beautiful place !
