Absolutely fabulous evening spent at Peace & Loaf last night with our gorgeous friends. The food was fantastic & every morsel was just a delightful culinary experience. Selection of drinks was also very good & we all enjoyed a few bottles of an Aussie Riesling we had never seen before before. All in all an exceptional night with excellent service, food & company. Truly recommend this place

The 6 course tasting menu provided a wide range of excellent food, accompanied with a modest wine filght which complemented the courses well. Service was impeccable, giving us a most enjoyable lunchtime meal.

Food was very nice, however the bread was burnt and didn’t get the dripping fat with the bread was awful.

Sorry to say but our meal was very poor, tough steak, impossible to chew and badly designed menu-3 dishes of carbs as side dishes to steak. Considering the price, over £100, we were so very upset at our experience. Lovely staff apart from one waiter who made a rude comment about the mess on the table after he cleared dishes away. The manager did remove the price of my wine from our bill, thankyou, but this didn't make up for the disappointing food. Wouldn't recommend on this experience and won't be back.

We had the smaller of the 2 taster menus and found each course to be excellent. There were some interesting combinations, but everything on each plate was there for a reason and not for decoration. We all left the restaurant full, so not a case of style over substance. The wine/drinks list was also good, with some excellently priced wines to complement the food. The staff were friendly and attentive without being annoying. They explained each course and were happy to talk to us and answer questions.

High quality experience, if not pitch perfect. Excellent atmosphere, lots of natural light and still cool inside on the warmest day of the year. Perfect 3-course tasting menu (£25) for a light afternoon lunch. If you come *very* hungry, the portion sizes will not fill you up. The toasted sourdough was a nice touch, but could’ve been served alongside my asparagus starter, which was the least impressive part of the meal. It was too soupy and only had a few snippets of actual asparagus. The halibut main course was spectacular. The poached pear was good, not great, as the pears themselves were still quite tough themselves. Staff were very friendly and open to feedback. People with more fine dining experience may have found the starter and dessert more to their taste but both were slightly off the mark for an upscale restaurant.

Had another great visit, lunch time current £25 for four courses is a bargain and worth a visit. The hogget main was outstanding, I love lamb and this was amazing. Service and staff are so welcoming. I highly recommend xx
