The service was good. The staff were attentive and polite. The food was poor. The steak was tough and the chips were too well done. The music choice was good but it was far too loud!!

The Hostess was lovely and worked hard to get us a great table. We had nice apps and wine and they worked with our timeline to get to the theater. Very nice overall.

Really loved the vibe of the restaurant and its convneinet location in MidTown. The shrimp on mushroom risotto was excellent.

Had lunch with a gf @ upstairs bar and really enjoyed it. The bar tender was 💯 so pleasant and kind. He actually created the bar menu’s (made into a butterfly with a sku) so cool. Check it out!

My absolute go to place in midtown. Charming and cozy. Great environment. Nice after work bar crowd. Lively, yet a perfect place for dining upstairs in the dining area where its quiet and intimate. Menu is basic but food is good. Service and staff are the best in the business. So friendly and accommodating.

I have been coming to Papillon for years as I work close by. I was very disappointed with this most recent lunchtime visit. It was fairly empty in the restaurant, with only a few other tables. However, the service was awful. It took a long time for someone to come over and take our order. Two of us ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, which used to be my favorite. However, the chicken was dry and burnt, and the cheese on top was so overcooked that it fell off the sandwich and was very burnt. My friend's sandwich was similar. Our third friend ordered the croque monsieur and the cheese was burnt on that as well. It then took about 20 mins to get a server to come over to give us the check, and she never even checked in to see how our food was and we all wanted ketchup for fries and another drink. I don't think I will be back. Such a shame.

The restaurant wasn’t open when we got there. They were taking down all of the Xmas decorations. Their instagram confirmed that they were open on Monday January 15th and it would be the last day of their Xmas decorations being up. We drove all the way from Staten Island and paid $50 for parking. How can a restaurant knowingly accept reservations on open table and be closed. At least they should have can’t our reservation or contacted us. Very poor social media managing.
