Osso Bucco: lamb shanks were not slow brazed in a well-developed sauce. Kinda just bland—almost like the were just blandly baked/steamed or (maybe?) partially microwaved, then covered with balsamic glaze and raw tomatoes. I guess I was expecting braised in port/wine reduction with flavors all married and … the way I think of osso bucco I guess. Definitely wouldn’t order that again. Calamari were great though.

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary meal while traveling through Alaska on vacation. What a wonderful experience our group sampled crab cakes, Salads, pasta & salmon. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious and our server Robbie was exceptional. They surprised us with a hand written card & dessert. It was a lovely memorable experience.

We had a reservation and were seated right away. We were celebrating my husband‘s birthday and they had had a hand drawn birthday card ready for him. They also provided a dessert with a candle. Food came out quick, we were in and out in an hour. Service was attentive and helpful with suggestions. My husband had the lamb shank, and I had a seafood pasta. All the food was delicious and meat was tender. There are a lot of tables close together, so it was a little loud. It’s on the higher end for price, we spent just under $150 for two of us (no alcohol). I highly recommend this place and for sure want to go back.

One of the best meals we've had in Anchorage. We were celebrating our anniversary. Started with Crispy Ravioli, which we love, and a Caprese salad. Per Alaska usual, the tomatos were not the greatest, which sadly we expect anywhere in town. It's the only thing I'd skip on the next visit. My wife had lemon pistachio-crusted halibut and I had Osso Bucco. Both were amazing. The Osso Bucco in particular was out of this world. We finished with a Chocolate Tarte and a Limoncello Panna Cotta.

A wonderful meal with a wonderful and attentive server. I so appreciate that the cooks are willing to accommodate food allergies, especially difficult ones (like garlic and onions and undercooked vegetables). My meal was delicious (get the halibut - it was moist and tasty even though there wasn't a halibut opener at the time). Thank you for making it possible to dine out in a quality restaurant even though I have food allergies. Our server was fantastic in facilitating that delicious meal. We have dined here many times since it opened and have never been disappointed. It is well worth the cost. Thank you, Orso staff and kitchen crew. You are fantastic!

Our meal was absolutely delicious, we had pistachio pesto halibut and chicken parmesan, followed by an amazing chocolate torte. The service was great and for us, the most important part was that it was not too loud!

The portions were perfect. The flavors were delightful and balanced! Nothing overwhelming and absolutely perfect. I highly recommend shared small plates for a treat. Faves were the seafood gemelli and the sirloin tips over polenta. Cocktails are fun. The staff were all attentive and we will be back! Thank you!

Wonderful experience overall was blown away by the appetizer plate! I wasn’t sure that the portions would be worth the money, let alone the food, but it certainly is and I would easily get it again. My partner and I had both had the Orso Occo Buco, it was some of the best food I’ve had in a while. Fall off the bone with no shortage of food to go around. I got the Italians in Washington wine flight and it was smooth and easy on the palate for red wine. I really enjoyed how I got a card with what to expect and pair the wines with as well. Fairly cheap wines from the same company but tasted great nonetheless.

Best place to dinner in Anchorage. Amazing and beautiful Restaurant. Waiter Mr. Zack was just an incredible person and we did enjoy every second there. TY Orso, we will be back soon.

Of the three entrees, a seafood dish was overcooked and dry, another seafood pasta dish was average and the oso buco was excellent. It was the last one available and all three of us wanted to have it but couldn’t

Waiter was nice but things he said were not believable. He said they were mainly an Italian restaurant and I totally disagree. We ordered drinks but didn’t get them until we asked again after we got our appetizer. He acted like we hadn’t ordered any!!

Wonderful experience at Orso. Great service! Delicious appetizers, we had the baked ravioli and caprese salad. The rockfish was delicious. Great flavor and perfect portion. Definitely recommend Orso if your looking for an excellent meal and relaxing ambiance.

I love Orso and enjoy spending time there. I usually order the chicken parmigiana and it never fails. This time I chose a halibut special with couscous and asparagus. It was tasty, however the filet was a bit dry and the asparagus was way too thin and overcooked. I shared the chocolate torte with my friend and that was superbly delicious.

We ate at Orso before a show and it was busy as expected. Our waitress was nice, but not very timely about getting our wine order before our entrees arrived. We had the fig and walnut salad which was good and my husband enjoyed the seafood spiedini, but my halibut was overcooked and dry. The dining room felt very crowded with too many tables crammed in it. I would skip going here before a show or on a busy weekend.

The food was amazing! Service was unbeatable. Local favorites with an Italian twist. The fried ravioli appetizer was delicious. The halibut and crab stuffed shrimp was also amazing. Definitely try this place!

We were given the wrong plates and the waiter argued with us about what we ordered. Finally after flipping through his little book, he picked up the plates and gave them to the table behind us. That couple had arrived half an hour after us. It was a full hour from the time we arrived to the time we received our entree. So disappointed after such a nice New Year visit. I still tipped the waiter 20% although he was not very nice. There was an older lady that served us at New Years who was fabulous. So far, since summer, we've had 2 good experiences and 2 bad experiences. Also, the broccoli was not alienate but raw. Completely inedible. I'm going to stick to Ginger and Jens

5/6 of our orders were salty. My Mother In Law and I ordered the ribeye and both our meat was tough and broccoli was super hard. The kids who normally do not complain about their food thought their food was salty.

Orso is a great place to go once in awhile, but nothing we had was really show-stopping and fantastic. It was GOOD, don't get me wrong, but I don't think we'll probably go again. We got the crab cake appetizer, the panzenella salad, the valentines day special with steak and crab stuffed shrimp, Tuscan chicken fettuccine, the carrot cake, and two cocktails: the blood orange cosmo & elderflower martini. I wish there had been a vegetarian option and would like to see one added to the menu. The crab cakes were decent. We received two plump and well-cooked crab cakes, but did not enjoy the aioli underneath them. When we received the panzenella salad, we weren't expecting to both get a plate which was a big plus! There were too many tomatoes for my taste. The filet/shrimp combo with mashed potatoes and greens looked very good. The potatoes were yummy, and the steak was well cooked. I did not like that the steak came swimming in a steak sauce and would have preferred it on the side. Something to ask for next time! The Tuscan fettuccine was delicious. Nice and creamy, and I loved the extra veg. Great portion size too, no complaints. The carrot cake was unassuming, not the carrot cake I was expecting but alright. Again, did not like the sauce that was surrounding it. Maybe we're just not a sauce family! Both cocktails were SO GOOD, especially the blood orange cosmo. Highly recommend!! The service was 12/10. Our waitress was kind and took great care of us, and the surrounding staff did too. We went for a birthday and were given a birthday card to celebrate, which was unexpected and very sweet. I think it is a great place to go as a treat and feel fancy. The prices reflected the quality and quantity well, but I think some dishes tried a little too hard to be fancy. I would go back any day for that cocktail though!!
