We did the 3 course instead of the 6 course we had the tuna with cucumber and caviar very refreshing and the eggplant with barrata then we had the branzino which was excellent and the chicken cordon blue which was very good , we both had the chicory soufflé which was a perfect finish to a very nice dinner , beautiful place

Went there for mother's day. the ambiance is great, the place is beautiful and they had a live band. However, the food wasn't great to say the least. We got the eggplant Napoleon which was luke warm not hot and needed salt. Then we got the shakshukah and avocado toast which wasn't great either. I would give it one more shot for dinner (maybe its just that their brunch) sucks but if dinner is bad as well no amount of ambiance or live band is gonna make up for mediocre food and not to mention high prices.

The space is beautiful, but the food doesn't keep up with the West Village's competition. For the price, we would've expected more flavorful dishes.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary last night and had a magnificent time. We did the Chef’s Tasting Menu with the wine pairing and everything was incredible. Food, wine, service, ambience — all perfect. I don’t mind spending top dollar for a wonderful evening out. Highly recommend for that special occasion.

If you are looking for a romantic candle light diner with live piano music, this is the place to be! Our welcome was very warm and personal, while the piano was producing some very fine tones, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped inside. We were offered one of the best tables one can wish for on a romantic date, in the corner where we could sit almost next to each other. While we were seated, the candle light was lit. The restaurant offers a very romantic environment with sufficient privacy. Service was very warm and accurate. The wine list offered some excellent hidden diamonds from Italy at very reasonable pricing. In my view, the overall experience was much better than the one we had previously at The River Café, at better pricing as well. Thank you for this great night out.

went there for my husband‘s milestone birthday and an anniversary of his brother and wife. Lovely building pretty tables. Everything seemed ripe for a great evening. Staff were friendly, but oh my, the food was really, really disappointing. From the bread, which had no decent texture or taste, to the appetizers which needed salt and pepper because they were bland, to my steak au poivre that had no poivre! My party’s fish that wasn’t so enjoyed by them and my husband and I didn’t like our deserts, although the lemon tart was enjoyed. This once well acclaimed spot needs to up its game and be more concerned with what they put in front of diners than just a pretty romantic atmosphere.

There was a weird smell on the carpets. The waiters were nice, but maybe a little bit too familiar. We would have appreciate a more formal service in this kind of restaurants.

Our experience for a 50th birthday dinner was incredible, espeically since the staff went out of their way to make it special after there was a mistake with the reservation. Great experience.

I was super excited to eat here with my partner for our anniversary. We both have walked by so many times and decided to make a reservation. The ambience was excellent and we had a wonderful server that made our experience so special. However, I not sure that made up for how underwhelming the food was. Everything we had from the fusili to the beef wellington was under seasoned. Everything was cooked to perfection but lacking a depth of flavor. The saving grace was the dessert (creme brulee and lemon tart), truly a highlight! Would love to go back, but wasn't sure the price would be worth it given our experience.

Three hours of excellence and romance. The service was above and beyond. Our three course selection exceeded our expectations. We never felt rushed and my request ahead of time was honored. The piano player was a nice unexpected surprise.

Very underwhelming experience. My husband ordered a medium well steak and receive an over cooked piece of meat. When we let the waiter know, it was replaced with a very rare one.

This is a lovely, sophisticated setting with very good food and service. Tables are nicely spaced, and each is adorned with a beautiful candle and a fresh flower arrangement. The ambience is also helped by elegant, soft lighting. The quality of the food was somewhat below what you might expect for a restaurant in this price range. Everything was very good, but only one or two items wowed us. The service was friendly, though not quite as polished as you might expect.

My wife and I went here for her birthday while we were on a trip to NY. The service, food, and atmosphere were all fantastic. If you are looking for a special place for a special evening, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

As always, the dining experience, here was the best in New York City. The staff here are so attentive without being condescending. They are kind, intelligent, and very good at making you feel comfortable and taken care of. This was a birthday celebration, and they went above and beyond to make sure that we were really taken care of, the experience was superb in every way and all the staff are wonderful and should be commended the food as always is absolutely fantastic

The restaurant is lovely and expected decent food for a jazz brunch. Go to a diner they have better omelettes and potatoes. Was shocked. Service fair to poor.

The service was great! We went out out for my fiancé’s birthday and they made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The only thing was the space in between the tables. We thought there would be a more private couple table rather than being put in between two other tables. You can hear their conversations and ours can be heard clearly since they are an arms length away.

The restaurant cancelled our very special day reservation because they claimed their boiler broke (if true they should implement a better maintenance program). I have been a fan of this restaurant since 1976 and have loved eating there since. I fondly remember it interesting that I was required to provide my credit card upfront to safeguard against my canceling my reservation. Also interesting that general manager didn’t alert or apologize but instead had a staff manager do the dirty work. If I appear bitter it’s because I am. This cancellation put a big damper in our honeymoon finale.

This was our return visit to Land and Sea. An excellent first visit experience is one thing, return is Deja vu excellent again? Whole different thing. Great experience, excellent food, great pace = wonderful evening. Ask Joe to play your fav on the digital grand piano.

Amazing place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The service was first class and the food was superb. Very expensive compared to other places but the personal service received was worth it for this special occasion.
