How the mighty have fallen... This place was once the pinnacle of brunch in San Diego. I understand that it was Mother's Day brunch, but the food was absolutely underwhelming. From the tasteless beans and rice to the cold enchiladas, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We ended up at taco bell afterwards and the flavor of their food was 10x better... $200 down the drain after tip. Sad (?) to say that we will not be returning to Old Town Tequila...

Service was great but I don't remember the names of our servers. The margarita was tasty and reasonably priced. The menu options were somewhat limited (only one burrito?) but everyone at our table thought the food was good and was a good value for the price. The only thing that could be improved was to bring out hot tortilla chips with the salsa. When they're cold, they feel a little greasy.

We had a reservation and we were able to get a seat after 30 mins for brunch. We didn’t mind waiting sinxe it was cinco de mayo but when I saw the plates being dirty at buffet I thought it was just those plates. I asked for more plates and they came dirty again in front of the owners. We just grabbed our stuff and left

We had the Sunday Champagne brunch. It was advertised for less than what the cost was. The website is not updated. We were caught off guard by our bill. And management did. Nothing to offset that. Staff had great customer service and the food was excellent. Lots too choose from. And the location is just perfect! Beautiful views. Overall we were pleased.

Great ambience!! Very poor service… waitress had bad attitude… Chips were greasy and not completely cooked… Fajitas was good… frozen margaritas was flavorless with mostly ice… I am a Mexican food freak…went to this restaurant with lots of expectations… Overall NOT a great experience!!!

We love coming here. The service is alway good The manager Maria is amazing so sweet. Buffet brunch on Sundays is really good a lot of good choices.

When I arrived, I was not greeted. Turns out the person covering the host stand was actually the manager. That should have been a sign. But I pushed through. Fast forward. The views from the patios are beautiful and why we came. We requested to sit in a less party filled section. We were seated with several large parties celebrating birthdays. We asked to move and given a table in the same area. The server knew what we meant and said both sides were like that. No true. It was a lot going on and our vibe was relaxed that day. We had to yell several times to hear each other. We went to another section at the end of our meal and sadly discovered the vibe we wanted did exist. We could have even sat inside and had a more delightful experience. The ambience failed to match our energy and I left with a headache. We weren’t the only ones disappointed. There were several large birthday parties and each group one after the other sang happy, each trying to outdo the other…imagine hearing happy birthday for 6 different times back to back. Some faces expressed their irritation which is why I decided to write. There were other small parties confused on why we were seated in large birthday party section. And they too were just shown another table in the same chaos. It was the kind of loud that actually changed the taste of the food.

It was great, until they made us move . We had reservation for 2 nice table on the patio. Then they needed a larger table seating and move us behind a very loud table, then we had to ask to be moved inside. Waitress was great, only pineapple juice was brown and tasted funny , thankfully i did not get charged for that. Yes we will do it again, the brunch food was great 👍

We booked a reservation for our 15th wedding anniversary and indicated so via the Open Table app the restaurant uses for reservations. When we walked into the restaurant, no one properly greeted us. Instead, one woman told another man to seat us, all rushed. Then, she disappeared. We followed the man, and he sat us outside on the patio, again, very rushed. He barely said 2 words to us. We soon discovered there was a large wedding party having a reception on the other patio...which is fine, the music didn't bother us. However, it was obvious this wedding party was sucking up all the resources. What bothered us was that the staff at the Tequila Factory didn't give us even satisfactory service. We ordered one drink, which took forever to receive. Our waiter didn't utter more than a few words to us, as well. Upon looking at the menu, which we found disappointing as well, we decided to get up and leave. We've been going to the Tequila Factory for years (along with staying at the Best Western Hacienda hotel who affiliates with the restaurant). It used to be a great place to go, eat, enjoy drinks and the view. There wasn't even a tequila menu...at a place called the Tequila Factory. There used to be a tequila menu. We left disappointed, knowing we'll probably never return.

We decided to eat at Tequila factory for the first time. The host stated they had the best Mexican food in old town. When asked what tequila they had, i expected a huge selection, however the waitress named Don Julio, and patron. I asked for clase azul which they didn’t have. So I ordered a flight, $25 for 4 small shots. The guacamole was dark as if it had been sitting around for a bit. Then we ordered tortilla soup and the chicken was a bit rubbery as if overcooked and after that we decided we didn’t want to try anything further since we were already disappointed with the experience. We ended up going Tom Cats in Mira Mesa for some good tequila and way better food!

This was supposed to be my birthday celebration I booked it over a week in advance. The pictures on Google are most likely when this place first opened because we were not seated on a rooftop we were squeezed into more like a patio that was covered the windows are filthy and so are the floors. I had requested to sit by the fire and there was no fire. The name of this restaurant is tequila factory and they have no tequila menu. The waitress said to simply let her know what we were interested in and she would let us know what they have… the menus are so that the prices don’t reflect what you actually pay. We didn’t even get refills on our drinks and when we asked for napkins the waitress pointed at four that were in the middle of the table we were a party of seven. The salsa is not authentic it is canned and when I asked for actual hot peppers I was charged for them without knowing. There was no music and they did nothing special for me for my birthday not even light a candle. It didn’t feel like a birthday celebration and it was really disappointing because we drove from far to be here. The food was good but three of us can’t stop going to the bathroom if you know what I mean. And we will never go to this establishment. They could’ve easily made another $200 on drinks but the waitress was not on it and the drinks were weak. For some reason we weren’t able to sit inside but it is very dusty and outdated many of their decorations are falling apart it was very offputting. Even as we were leaving it was like they didn’t care but we were there. Never again will we go here we didn’t even take any pictures because the windows were so dirty it was gross

The variety was good, and many of the items were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the tostada shells, beef kebobs, carnitas and the churros and flan. The only real negative was a shortage in staff. No one was as the host stand, and the harried servers and bussers walked by without making eye contact. When we finally connected with the host, we could see the problem. Our server was responsible for caring for at least 15 tables, one of which had over a dozen customers. He was very personable, but clearly overworked, serving champagne, bussing tables and managing bills.

Unfortunately I was not impressed with the food or service. The chips were stale the salsa wasn’t fresh our food (was ok) but came out before our drinks. Maybe they were understaffed? We still enjoyed ourselves but may choose a different restaurant after this experience.

Traditional holiday food (turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, ham, etc.) as well as Mexican food. Bottomless champagne. Good selection for a reasonable price. Patio with views of the city. Also, free parking. I will definitely return.

Outstanding food, unlimited champagne!!! , great value for money. It was extremely loud and it seemed like they were putting all customers in one outside area that had quite a few large parties. It would have been over to put smaller parties together so we didn’t have to compete with the loudness of the large groups. Maybe they were short staffed but there were other areas either no customers at all. I would go back however would not sit outside either large parties.

Just mediocre Mexican food. Service was slow (after we got our food we didn't see our waitperson for quite a while, basically until we were completely done eating) and the table *and* scalding hot fajita iron skillet holder were scarily wobbly. The food was typical mediocre touristy CA Mexican food, though I was really hoping for better quality based on some of the reviews I read. The salsa was watery and nearly all the food was bland, but the chicken and steak fajita meat were quite nicely spiced and grills (the same can't be said of the rubbery fajita shrimp). The strawberry margarita was decent, but like the food, was just kinda bland!

I have to start by saying the food and margaritas were tasty and it was a cute place. However, I have never had stranger service. 1st we arrived a bit early for our 7:30pm reservation and not a soul walked through the entry space for 20 minutes. When we finally got somebody's attention, the hostess rolled her eyes at us and then the waitress literally slammed our menus onto the table. Meanwhile, the restaurant was a ghost town so it's not as if they were busy. The waitress cheered up after that, but when they brought out my vegetarian friend's food and my chicken enchiladas, it was all on one plate! And I had ordered refried beans but we got one serving of black in the shared plate. We waved down someone to bring an empty plate and dealt with it, but I've definitely never had a stranger restaurant experience!

We we’re traveling and with limited options had Thanksgiving dinner here. That was a big mistake. Flavorless food served buffet style. Margarita’s that we’re so tart we struggled to drink them and an ambience that made you regret being there as soon as you sat down. I expected to pay a premium for the holiday dinner but when the bill arrived I was stunned at how much they charged. We will never make the mistake of eating out for Thanksgiving dinner again and will certainly never return to this restaurant. Stay away.

The food was very poor quality. I wasn't expecting anything authentic, but to get stale tortilla enchiladas with cold cheese and obviously left over, extremely overcooked meat and vegetables for fajitas for an insane price was laughable. The dessert was obviously store bought low quality bakery, like Walmart quality level baked goods. The server couldn't be bothered to really do anything except pick up a plate when empty.

The food was very tasty with lots of variety offered. Service was responsive and helpful. The cost was rather high, but at least the portion sizes were satisfactory. The restaurant displays their menu on their website, but prices are not provided. Also, a preliminary search for coupons or other deals yielded nothing at all. I will likely return to Tequila Factory sometime, but discount offers would get me to visit regularly.

The service was the best part. Anyway, we were seated on the patio, which was cool due to it being evening. We asked for the heater next to the table to be turned on. We had to ask 3 times. Our waiter said that he was looking for a lighter. Finally, we were told the heater didn't work. Next, we ordered a pitcher of Cadillac margarita. Nothing Cadillac about it. No Grand Marnier and tasted like no tequila, either. Waste of almost $50. My husband (whose birthday we were celebrating) ordered a different drink. He was told it couldn't be blended because the blender was broken. A Mexican restaurant that makes margaritas and other drinks has just 1 blender? Long story short, we won't return. Much better places in Old Town for Mexican food. We know, we're locals and have eaten at almost all of them many times. We wanted to give this place a chance.

My husband and I went for happy hour. They sat us in the dining room that was pretty dark. We asked about the happy hour menu and they said it’s only offered in the Cantina. Ok, we move to the Cantina and sit at a high top table. We go up to the bar after a few minutes of no one coming over to us. We ask about the happy hour deals and the bartendar says “It’s no longer happy hour.” I say”Oon the website it says it’s til 6pm.” He says “Yes.” I say, “It’s 5:30pm” He’s like Oh! Time change….( a week ago!) so we order our drinks. Then ask about appetizer specials and order a plate of nachos. They’re pretty good but my husband picks up from in the pile of nachos a piece of celery. Yep, cooked celery in the nachos. Ok weird. Then we order a shrimp fajita to share for dinner. It’s comes out looking g decent. Then I taste it and I’m like, “it’s kind of sweet.” My husband says yeah, it almost tastes like sweet and sour shrimp (Asian). Very weird flavor. Was not great. No need to go back.

We had a really great time overall!! This place is such a good deal and a really good place for catching up with friends. However, the service was a little poor. We had just sat down and the waiter already brought us our check which made the experience a little uncomfortable since we hadn’t even finished eating. It made us feel like we were being pushed out the door when the place was pretty empty! Other than that it was a great time!

The flavor of our meal was not very good. I asked for no onions and she said “there are onions on everything” not a “let me see if there is a dish without onions” or “we can take the onions off” no help. We had the steak fajitas and fish tacos. I’m giving it one star, not because of the onion ordeal but the overall experience was not great. For 2 small fish tacos, fajitas and one margarita our total was $80. 🤢🤮
