The warm, open, intimate floorplan and fabulous decor are very inviting. The services is exceptional and the food is delicious and well worth every penny. Go there!

Lovely restaurant, open kitchen, very good wait staff and support. Our brunch was a Mother’s Day fixed menu which we enjoyed very much. Highly recommend Octavia.

Amazing food, amazing staff. Comfortable atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Hands down will eat here over and over again. Never disappoints

I have had two fine meals here but last night was a little disappointing. Just average, which for.the price is not great.

This is a well appointed space, the service is excellent and the patrons sophisticated. The menu is interesting with creative farm-to-table menu items & a good wine list. Unfortunately the food was beautiful but not delicious. It was fine, but somehow I expected more given all the other elements were spot-on. Maybe it was the specific items we chose? The fish dish was fishy and bland. The pasta was okay but nothing special. I’ll give it another try with expectations in check.

Ordered the tasting menu, the amuse bouche first few bites were very tasty, but the meal just fizzled. Service was off, very slow, the wine pairing pours were behind and not served with the courses. The fettuccine dish arrived cold and was lack luster, the dessert was tasty. It was a book end meal, good start good ending everything in between was mediocre, add the slow service and noise level we won't be back.

Exceptional experience - thoughtful, delicious dishes, excellent service. We sat outside in one of their parklets and it was warm, cozy and quiet.

How do I describe this experience? A small, neighborhoody, unpretentious, professional and busy yet unhurried locale. Delicious and wonderfully executed but definitely not fussy. Stunningly fresh and painstakingly prepared ingredients seamlessly juxtaposed. Honest and balanced, allowing the ingredients and food speak for itself. Chris, our waiter was unbelievably informed, eagerly feeding my brain with his knowledge of the ingredients and cooking techniques that my eyes and palate were scrambling to understand. I could not figure out how the bread could be served warm but taste so perfectly fresh with a hard crunchy crust and moist airy and slightly chewy innards, until I was shown the cooking and warming ovens used to make the house made bread. Do I dare compare thee to Chez Panise?

The flavors were yummy, but the technique was poor. Per esempio- gli "agnolotti". Something about the actual noodle wasn't quite right; it wasn't fully cooked (and being "Plin" it was senza brodo, which is a sin). Conversely, the "tagliatelle" was swimming in a small soup at the bottom of the bowl. More than that, however, the value is poor. The amount of "agnolotti" and "tagliatelle" that you get isn't worth the price. Carrot cake and coffee was a delicious end to a yummy if not fully satisfying meal. The service was great and the atmosphere were lovely, a very nice romantic date. Just don't bring an Italian...

We love Octavia, delicious food, wonderful wait staff.. The one downside for us is the resturant can be a bit noisy…at times the volume of conversations can be quite distracting.. Also the 7% sur charge seems a bit high! We will return as we love the food, next time maybe sit outside!

Food as usual was incredible but it really felt like we were rushed for food but not to leave even with an 815 reservation which shouldn’t be late in SF.

Nice neighborhood spot, everything was good but surprisingly we liked the apps (fava bean frites and pork belly) and dessert more than the pastas and the main dish (trout). 2-3 small plates per person and we were stuffed. For the price though, I'd rather eat elsewhere

First time here so we tried the chefs prix fix menu with wine pairing. Delicious! Well presented, wine pairings were special (maybe a little light on the pour), our servers were wonderful and we really felt like we laid back and enjoyed a great dinner. Can’t wait to come back.

This is a good place to go when you're on a diet. The preparation is healthy and the portions are modest, even the deserts convey only a light taste of sweetness. The only problem is that you may go home hungry. All the vegetable dishes we ordered were very good. There was nothing special about the chicken, which was a bit salty.

Everything about the experience was top notch. Sat us down right away, service was prompt and well paced. The waitstaff were lovely, efficient and helpful. Same for hostess. 10/10 would recommend

Tasting menu was way more food than expected as each of the four courses came out as multiple items. A very solid experience all around and great value I felt for the money compared to other pricier tasting menus around the city.

Truly loved each and every one of the dishes I had last night. They were all really special. We especially loved the duck sausage pappardelle. Rich and delicious without feeling totally satiated. 10/10

I had heard good things about the food and agree. The food and service were excellent. However, i feel like the very low lighting level detracted from my enjoyment. We enjoy food on many level and I feel that the lighting level is too low. I like to enjoy the visual presentation and don’t want glaring brightness but I found the dining too dark. I really wanted to love this place but found the food poorly done (generally over salted, steak was served cold), which was very disappointing for the price point.

Our service started a bit slower than expected, and the server seemed unaware that we had already pre-coordinated dietary restrictions for our reservation. The food was good, but the service and ambiance seemed poor. We were seated in an outdoor parklet next to the entrance, and our server turned down the heater next to our table to accommodate another guest which made our experience VERY uncomfortable. Overall, I am disappointed with this experience at Octavia.

Delicious food, great service. A bit pricey for mostly vegetables but what can you do? It’s SF in this economy! Enjoyed and would go again at times when I’m happy to let the cash flow.
