L'Ocean Prime est un restaurant-lounge américain moderne, du restaurateur de renom Cameron Mitchell. We went to celebrate our college graduate. The food was fabulous and Jake & Emilio did an awesome job taking care of us!! Highly recommend!

I have dined here many times, at least 4-5 times a year and the service is always impeccable. Unfortunately, last evening, our service was not good. Nate was rude, snarky, condescending and overall made for an uncomfortable evening with friends. We all left very disappointed, especially for our Mother’s Day dinner.

Thanks for an exceptional evening. Our server was fully attentive and gave a five star experience. She checked on us regularly, refilled beverages invisibly, and was high octane cheerful and friendly. We can’t wait to return. Thank you to the entire team.

We LOVED everything we ordered: filet Oscar style, scallops, iced crab app, and butter cake dessert; we also ordered the lobster Mac n cheese and for $43-45 it was NOT worth it. Lobster was overcooked and Mac n cheese was dry. Pass on this. Next table over ordered roasted brussels sprouts, they looked really good! Asked for a table in a quieter area of the main dining room and they gave us the perfect table in a “side room” but it’s attached to the main dining room, it was perfect! The main dining room was much louder, great for the families seated out there with small children!

We went for a Mother’s Day dinner. Our waiter was a bit rough around the edges. He kept reaching over us, and got his apron on my mom’s face. The food was okay but not as good as it was last time. Definitely not worth the price. She did not have a good time.

I was asked in advance if we were celebrating something. We were … my friend’s birthday. After our entrees, our server brought the dessert menu and said she should pick out her birthday dessert. She did, and I assumed that like the Capitol Grill and other fine restaurants, a birthday dessert was complimentary. When I got the bill, I had been charged $17 for the dessert. Why does it matter to Ocean Prime if we are celebrating something, if you don’t do anything special?

I had the lobster linguine, which was new to the menu and when I had it about a month ago. it was delicious when it was a new menu item. When I had it this time, it tasted premade, frankly, reheated, not fresh, and the lobster wasn’t nearly as good.

The Tampa outlet of this high end chain of seafood oriented deluxe cuisine is the perfect place for a special event or business meal. You're welcomed at the check-in desk as an old friend or family member. The tables are far enough apart to allow for quiet discussion. East Coast and West Coast oysters are served perfectly chilled with plenty of brine to keep them moist on a bed of ice. The onion soup is hardy and tasty. Paragraph entrees from a humble grilled grouper sandwich done absolutely perfectly to high-end sushi to perfectly grilled fish all is at the best standards. We did not sample desserts but they looked outstanding on other tables. Just be prepared with some oxygen when you get the bill. Without alcohol, lunch could easily hit $75 per person and dinner even more. Highly recommended for that special occasion or business dinner but a little rich for a family dinner.

The view and booth seating was gorgeous, our server was so sweet and broke the menu down so well for us. they let you essentially assemble your own dinner plate. all the food, exquisite. very lovely experience. i would 100% go here again.

We were celebrating a graduation and the service we received was tremendous. The table was decorated with graduation glitter and everyone attending our table made a huge fuss over the graduate. The food….was out of this world delicious..kudos to the chefs! Our server Rick was exceptional and very attentive. The featured cinnamon cheesecake is still being talked about. We LOVED it! Ocean Prime has definitely been added as a favorite restaurant.

For an early Friday reservation took too long to be seated. Appeared to have plenty of staff although service was slow. Waited a long time for our drinks as well as our food to arrive. We did have a nice booth with a view of the water and the staff was friendly. For one of the most expensive restaurants in town I believe Ocean Prime could do better! Sure we'll probably go back although not for a while.

Promised to take a friend there as a treat for all the nice things her and her partner do for us and she wanted to compare it to similar restaurants both locally and around Florida. Comments were - Excellent and exceeded all expectations, plus a place to return to when you want to celebrate something special, or you just need to treat yourself.

The service, food, and ambiance were fantastic. Rick was our server and he was wonderful. Every time we go here (a few times a year) we are always pleased. The food is always top notch and you can’t go wrong with any food selection!

We love Ocean Prime and visit every time we’re in Tampa or Naples, but our experience was simply awful and the food was overdone.

I made this reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday, because Ocean Prime has always been outstanding in food, ambiance, and service. This time though, the service was not great. Maybe they were shorthanded, but there were numerous delays from start to finish of our dinner service. Too many prolonged instances of empty glasses and anxious glances towards staff. We happily agreed to pour our own wine for the evening. Even though I called ahead and confirmed they would provide candles for the cake, the waiter almost cut the cake without bringing it to the table first. Our waiter was very polite and friendly, but service seemed to be a disjointed evening. We’ll definitely be back, but hope for more attentive service next time.
