the worst experience ever at a fine dining restaurant I booked and went to Notch 8 for my fiance's birthday dinner tonight at 6:30 p.m. I already wrote the note for them, which was for my fiancé's surprise birthday dinner. We got there on time and ordered a meal (soup, steak, and dessert) for him and scallops for me. During an hour of waiting,they brought the soup to us only. We kept checking our food, and they said it was on the way and coming. Then, after an hour, they said sorry; they didn't have the steak we wanted, and they didn't prepare my food either. They asked us to change to another steak, but we couldn’t wait anymore.

It was a very nice experience. The food was perfect - perfectly prepared, tasted great, excellent coffee. The decor has been updated. It was a nice, quiet Monday morning - there were other people in the restaurant but the ambiance was quiet and private. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful. They didn't attend to the table too often - it was a perfect level of caring service.

Overall, a good experience. Lisa was a terrific server. Salad was served too cold, and flavors suffered. Onion soup was excellent. Chicken and roast beef mains were substantial and tasty enough, but sides were underseasoned (Plain steamed carrots, I’m looking at you) and seemed treated as afterthoughts.

Notch 8 remains my favorite for a delightful brunch experience, offering excellent culinary fare. I cannot recommend Notch 8 highly enough. It had all the accoutrements, but for some reason still lacked in atmosphere. Puzzling was the washroom situation - there was only one...for everybody! And by one, I mean only one. There was not one washroom for men and one for women. This is definitely a hotel lounge, at best. It is not a destination to drive downtown Vancouver for. We ordered green-tea shooters and received something else. We had them anyways. As for the food, it was just okay. The wait staff were friendly, but Denny's friendly. We checked Notch8 off of our list, and that is good enough.

We disappointed this time around having dinner at notch 8. Our mains were Luke warm like the food had sat on the pass for a while before being brought out to us.

we enjoyed the dinner we had in this place, waitress is very good and helpful,it was my husband's birthday celebration and it is a memorable experience.

Loved the Sunday brunch here! The food was all perfect. Could not be better. The only negative was it was a little loud due to it being so popular! Will be back. The perfect Sunday Brunch!

We were placed beside the walkway and were told it’s fully booked that day. After talking to the waiter we’re allowed to move to the side booth. We didn’t see the seats fully occupied until we finished our meal and left. This is not my first time being there, and bit disappointed of variety of the food. But the pastry is recommendable!

The food is so bad here ! We ordered their Gem salad and it was so flat ! Not sure how one can screw up making a nice salad. We did not order dinner after our salad experience. Definitely would not recommend this place for any meal ! This has simply become a terrible hotel restaurant! Avoid at all costs

We were able to make a reservation for Happy Hour which was very much appreciated. We felt welcomed and the service and food were excellent. Great value for the money.. Thank you.

Used to go here every weekend and it was a great brunch, worth the money. But they have significantly downsized the food spread and upped the price and now it’s not worth it.

This has become our favorite downtown restaurant. Such a great location for friends to meet from Burnaby and North Vancouver. Ambiance is wonderful and the food too.
