We dined on a Wednesday for my birthday dinner and received a great table by the window for 6. Service was really good, it was quiet and easy to talk. The food was great, several in the party said it was some of the best they’d had and would return. The waiter brought a birthday dessert out with a candle, not sure what it was exactly but it was really good and appreciated! Just a headsup the menu prices on opentable are old and you’ll need to look at the website for current prices. The valet was $12, there was street parking but its such a busy road to cross we decided valet would be a better option. Great experience overall and an excellent place to celebrate a birthday. Thank you Moonshadows!

The lobster roll had a strange orange tint and taste that wasn’t noted on my menu. The steak was requested at medium but wasn’t pink at all. Our server never came over to check on our meal.

Sat outside with toasty heaters. Wished we sat closer to see the ocean but the sound of waves was just as relaxing for a nice dinner. Ordered drinks, apps, and food. The rib eye was cooked adequately and had the sea bass fish of the day. Food was delicious and presented well. Had the tiramisu for dessert and was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Not too sweet and perfectly moist. I would come back here again and highly recommend for a nice spot by the ocean!

We went for lunch. The setting is beautiful especially on the patio. I had the swordfish with asparagus which was terrific and cooked just as I requested. My husband had the lister & shrimp salad & the clam chowder & throughly enjoyed both.

Delicious food. Ernesto our serves was friendly and attentive- he knew what we needed/when we needed it before we even asked. Views are to die for! 10/10 recommend.

parking was a challenge, crossing PCH into their very narrow parking lot. Glad they had valet walked into the restaurant and was welcomed and taken to a table overlooking the ocean. Manuel, our waiter appeared seconds after we set making sure we had water and took an appetizer orders. Another white staff brought our waters and bread and drinks and appetizers remarkably quickly looked over the menu. It was hard to pick from the various items that all sounded great. We waited for our entrées. I have to say the ambience left a bit to be desired. The restaurant actually look like a converted Malibu house. While the food was delicious we did talk about serving size versus cost in the stage. It would be odd for someone not to look and make that comparison, but besides all of that, we had a great time a great view and the food was good and I would be remiss to not repeat that Manuel may our dining experience, exceptional

Very mediocre service, staff was very unprofessional (like doing karate kicks in the entry in front of guests). We asked the server what fish the table had next to us, they told us cod, it wasn’t. The bok choy hadn’t been washed, so once we cut into it, it was all sandy/dirty. I would have asked to send it back, if you can’t even rinse the veggies, I’m not thrilled about eating the rest, but server never checked back once our entree was dropped. Told her at the end once we asked for the check, and she said she would mention it to the manager but nothing happened. Just very average experience

Phenomenal food in beautiful setting that manages not to be too stuffy. Seafood was great. Others said the food was inconsistent, but happy to report that wasn’t an issue. Will come back again.

My experience here was quite amazing, from the servers to the staff and everyone in between. Our waitress Leigh accomodated me and my date to infinity and beyond; and she had wonderful attitude and energy! The food was good, me and my date had the spicy tuna ahi tartare, surf and turf, the 10oz filet mignon, and ended it with a new york style cheesecake for dessert. The mashed potatoes were our favorite side, and the melted butter along with the filet mignon really brought everything together. The view was amazing and I would definitely recommend visiting to encounter this dine-in experience.

We’re from Vegas and try to get to Moonshadows as much as possible when we come to California Camila was our server. She was amazing. Made our dining a very pleasurable experience. Can’t wait to come back.

Phenomenal Views, food and service. Everything we ordered came fresh, hot, and great portions. Sat outside on the Oceanside even with the cool weather everything was perfect as they have plenty of heaters. Service and food really are outstanding only rivaled by the views. Be advised they have to Valet the car as the restaurant is located on the shoulder of the highway so bring cash to pay the Valet. Highly recommended

You're paying for the view. The crab cake and pasta were pretty good but the shrimp and crab salad was poor. 2 of us ordered it and both felt the same- very bland. Doesnt help that there isnt s n p on the table. 3 also got the chowder which was also pretty good but portion size for the price borderline

I don't usually write reviews, but I won't go to Moonshadow again. I have been there so many times but this time was the worst. we had a reservation and asked for a ocean view and made us wait with was fine but we still didn't have a good view, even though the other tables were empty. But the worst part was the service and our waitress who was very rude and condescending.
