                                        Had dinner at Mooncussers last night with my daughter. We sat in the room with the small bar at a high table. The bartender was our server. She was great. Wore a cute yellow hat and poured a mean cocktail. The ceviche and lobster roll appetizers made a fantastic meal. a very cosy place for a nice dinner.

                                        The service was extremely slow. We did not get our food until we had been sitting for over an hour. Also, we were not allowed to make a simple substitution for truffle tries instead of regular fries with the burger. This seemed like a very reasonable request and is something that had been done easily in the past, but we were told that the chef is no longer doing any substitutions. Very disappointed with our experience and with the service, which is not what we were used to.

                                        We have been coming here from the beginning many years ago and it always feels like coming home. It’s great to be able to have different experiences like burger at the bar, sharing small plates on a week nite, or a full blown nice dinner with affordable bottle of quality wine. We have also had special events there as well. It’s always quality in every way…..

                                        Great menu, great service! Nice selection of wines and some interesting martinis. We almost tried the Brazilian Chocolate martini but went with Monomoy punch instead, which was very refreshing. The pork chop and scallops pappardelle were delicious and both were perfectly cooked and beautifully prepared. Duck fat Brussels sprouts went beautifully with the pork chop. It’s worth mentioning that the structure was built around 1775, so while it has great atmosphere, it’s a small space with low ceilings so got a bit loud as more people showed up and the bar became crowded. While not a concern for some people, if hearing is a problem for anyone in your party, just plan to get there earlier in the evening. Overall, one of the best meals and dining experiences we’ve had on the Cape!

                                        Slightly weird menu and overpriced for the quality of the food. Service and ambience were excellent though.

                                        We went for brunch on Easter Sunday. It was delicious, the service was impeccable and atmosphere is charming. We look forward to eating here again. 😀
