Went for Mother’s Day prix-fare dinner menu. Dinner was $69 a person and all of us agreed we did not see that price reflected in the quality or value of the meal. 2/3 of our dinner party left still hungry. Our first course was a hunk of charred cabbage that was cold. I only ate a few bites. Second course salmon was good. Third course my panna cotta had a hair in it and I had to send it back. When we got it back, the dish was far too acidic leaving a fuzzy and tingly sensation in my mouth, making it inedible. Unfortunately, I am gluten-free so my options were limited. Our server was very nice and apologetic and hospitality was great overall, unfortunately the food fell short and the price did not feel representative at all of the meal and ingredients we had on our plates or the amount of food we consumed.

Amazing food as always. One of my top 3 restaurants. The Mother’s Day menu was absolutely delicious.

The food was outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for better service. He knew all the dishes and gave excellent recommendations. The only thing we could have asked for was a quieter place. A definite repeat.

Highly Overrated. Most of the food was mediocre. The three cocktails we had tasted like medicine. Why do establishments allow servers to wear black prongs sticking out of their noses; it’s ugly, distasteful, and gross. Our server was unable to follow our request to space our selections out and everything arrived to the table at the same time and she blamed the kitchen rather than take any responsibility herself for how she put our order in. We just wanted the food to come out in courses; first course, second course, etc, but apparently this was too much to ask for. There wasn’t any space left on the table and the food didn’t keep its temperature for long which is the whole point of courses. For the amount of money I spent, I have no interest in returning and recommend to others to go elsewhere as well.

It's hard to make a great chicken sandwich, but they've done it at Mistral. The buttermilk jalapeno fried chicken sandwich is a very tasty and well-balanced mix of flavors. Somehow the sandwich, loaded with various toppings, holds together well (no falling apart when you grab it) with a perfectly textured bun and gives you a little bit of each flavor in each bite. I polished off every last morsel of that & the fries. My wife thought the French toast was also delicious. The cocktail menu has some interesting drinks, and The Wanderer (I think) was very well-made. We'd definitely eat here again.

We’ve been big fans of Mistral for years but this last visit it felt like they’re slipping a bit. They had a big party going on outside but that shouldn’t diminish the experience of their other patrons.

Mistral has never disappointed us. If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience without the stuffy atmosphere, this is it. Every dish is so well thought-out and constructed, with the freshest ingredients and the most unusual flavor combinations that somehow always work. I recommend choosing several small plates and sharing, so nobody misses out. Every mouthful is an experience. During our most recent visit, the most outstanding dishes were the Crispy Salmon Bites, the Butternut Squash Beignets, the Pork Memelas and the Limoncello Posset. The cocktails were also excellent. The staff is always great too, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, after notifying the restaurant when I made the reservation that my partner has a crustacean allergy, and reconfirming with the server, we ordered a dish that ended up having crab in it, even though crab wasn’t listed as an ingredient on the menu. When we asked about crab being in the dish, the restaurant staff was very cavalier about the issue and implied that it was our fault somehow. Meanwhile, I’m writing this review from the emergency room. It’s sad because this was our favorite restaurant. I don’t see how we could go back.

Food is consistently excellent. Andre was our server and did a super job managing the large group. Olivia goes out of her way each time we visit to make sure we are happy! We visit each time we are in Princeton. For a quick meal and always for a special occasion. Thank you. See you in May!

We enjoyed an early Easter dinner at this family fave, and they took terrific care of us--we experimented w/ starting by splitting one small plate (butternut squash beignets) and one medium (Peruvian poussin), then had separate mains (bavette steak and blackened skate), before asking if they would bring us just a *part* of one dessert (hickory-smoked ice cream). Terrific cocktails, a nice glass of Magay Beaujolais...we walked out happy campers.

- Great area: Palmer Square/Princeton - Great service: no wait for our reserved time, friendly, helpful and knowledgable (knew the menu, knew how to make recommendations with enthusiasm). - Great food: my husband particularly loved the salmon and roe appetizer, I loved the Steak (so tender) and eggs main brunch plate...and we both loved the cream puff dessert with this unusual coconut texture, but not tasting of coconut aspect for taste...unusual but in a really good way - Good value: Especially today, the bread, the app, main course, dessert, three adult beverages and a bottle of water under 200.00, we saw as a pretty good value considering we were at an epicurean establishment. We left STUFFED. Walked around charming Princeton to walk some of the meal off which was lovely (highly recommend taking a walk around the area before or afterward, as the town area around the restaurant was charming). - Atmosphere: We were in the open cooking area, which is unusual but intriguing. Think busy and hip. - Would I return: Yes! I might like to try a less noisy location within the same restaurant. - Notes for restaurant: Keep up the good work and great variety as well as interesting new textures and flavors! We loved to be surprised at new and wonderful things to try. PS GREAT staff! It's rare to find staff that's as into the food and tasting experience as we are. You have some real gems in your staff (well done)!

The menu was wonderful, everything unique. I also love that you can get smaller portions. I tried two small plates and they were both delicious. Do not miss the butternut squash beignets

A great place to try unique small plates, expertly prepared. A great place for girls or date night or group mea who’d like high class food. Bar was PACKED on a Friday afternoon too.

We had a nice dinner at Mistral late on a Saturday evening. Individually, almost all of the items we tried were very good - with the exception of the squash on the bay scallop entree which was undercooked and not seasoned at all. As a whole meal, it felt disjointed because the menu is split between Asian and Mexican influences and we didn't feel like they melded well together. Also, the dining room is pretty crowded so it's quite loud. It was difficult to have a conversation at our table without feeling like we were interrupting diners around us. Overall, a decent option but I'm not sure we'll be going back.

We've been to Mistral a number of times and were somewhat disappointed in the food. Our service was good and we received our first course very quickly. The second course took longer than expected and our food was overcooked and inedible. We weren't offered any compensation so didn't feel it warranted the cost.

The smoked fish gougeres is not to be missed! The kale salad was outstanding -- as was everything we ordered, all the way through desserts. The diversity of the dishes at Mistral is always appealing as is the preparation and flavors delivered.

Good spot for a date or catch up w a friend. Food is ok tasting drinks are better. Ambiance is nice with the open kitchen. Would go again if in the area.
