    Such a beautiful atmosphere and excellent food. Our server was very attentive and check on us often. The prices were reasonable and you really can’t beat the location!

    Reservation was for 3pm but we did not get seated until 4:20pm. The reservation was for the buffet yet when we were finally sat no food was left for the buffet and we were forced to eat cold leftover scaps. For a Mother’s Day buffet that cost over $100 per person this was a complete robbery and such an over all disaster. No refund was offered and a discount for future visit was only option. This was the worst experience ever.

    NEVER GOING BACK!!! We had a 3pm reservation. We were not brought to our table until 4:30pm. Buffet was Nearly out of most food. Salad bar looked like a war zone. Pre-paid $89 per person. Literally, held for $489 ransom for nearly 2 hours. As there were no refunds if reservation not canceled 72 hours prior to booking. We have always had great experiences @ Mission Inn prior to this ruined Mother’s Day

    ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Prepaid for Mother's Day Brunch. Almost $600. Arrived on time for our 3 pm reservation. Was told we had to wait 1 hour. Checked back in an hour, was told to wait another 30 minutes. Finally seated. Very sparse buffet. Most things were already gone, including the prime rib. Year after year, they overbook, and require prepayment. They get their money based on their reputation, but happily screw the customers. Never again.

    I booked this experience for my mom on Mothers Day and they were over an hour behind on reservations. They overbooked and could not accommodate all of their guests. The food was limited due to the overcrowding of guests and refunds were not allowed.

    So disappointing and such a complete waste of time and money. Drove from San Diego for this special Mother's Day Brunch. We had a reservation at 2:30 and were not seated until 3:45. We waited patiently and were willing to overlook the seemingly mismanaged bookings, as we anticipated a brunch buffet worthy of the pre-charged cost of $464 for a party of 4. Most of the buffet food was gone. No mashed potatoes, no eggs benefit, half of the fresh fruit was missing, one out of the two dessert tables were empty, crab was completely gone, but thankfully refilled eventually. We almost exclusively had only cold crab the size of a #2 pencil for brunch. Had they not had the #2 pencil-sized crab leg, we would've left starving. They had some good skirt steak, but no sides. The salad bar was baron, and mixed vegetable sides were merely remnants. There was a huge line for prime rib, it was good, but not worth the wait. With the event being overbooked seating the reservations over an hour behind, imagine how long the lines were for one of the few (very few, maybe 3) intact offerings they had available. Dishes were out multiple times. We remained and waited for items to be refilled to no avail. We were there for about an hour and mashed potatoes, eggs benedict, desserts, fruits, sides... never refilled. We did speak to a manager who seemingly listened and explained that one of the seating areas had been flooded and that's why there was a wait for seating. That still doesn't explain how they planned to feed everyone. No concessions or refund offered. $464 later, my wife didn't even get a rose as all the other ladies did.

    My experience at The Mission in Riverside for Mother's Day Brunch was extremely disappointing. Despite making a reservation for 2:30 pm, my party wasn't seated until 3:45 pm. This significant delay not only disrupted our plans but also rushed my mother, who had evening commitments. Consequently, we couldn't fully savor our meal and felt incredibly rushed throughout. Adding to the frustration, the buffet was consistently understocked, with items running out and remaining empty for extended periods. It was particularly disappointing when they ran out of prime rib, a highlight of many brunch buffets. For the price we paid, this lackluster experience fell far short of expectations. Additionally, the valet service was a point of contention. Upon arrival, it was $50 for valet parking, which felt steep. However, upon departure, we were surprised to find that the price had dropped to $35. I asked if they could honor the $35 but the response was no. This inconsistency left a sour taste in our mouths, adding to the overall disappointment of the day. While I appreciate that they accommodated our request for complimentary mimosas while we waited, it hardly compensates for the overall poor service and experience. I expect to be compensated for this subpar experience and would appreciate being contacted to discuss further. It's clear that improvements are needed, especially during busy occasions like Mother's Day. **If/ When management reaches out and compensates me, I will update my review to reflect that. 5/18/24: I had a missed call from the Mission inn on 5/14, no voicemail. I called back on 5/15 but there were no notes as to why I was called on their end. The woman I spoke to said she would email management and let them know to give me a call, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.

    Unfortunately even after making reservations, there was 1 1/2 hour wait. By then the food was scarce, constant empty hot chaffing dishes. Perhaps a reservations earlier in the am they would not have ran out of food. Wait staff was very busy & did a great job.

    Waited 1.75 hours for a table after being instructed to show up 10 minutes ahead of scheduled appointment. Seated inside steak restaurant after promised an outdoor patio table when I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance and when I arrived at the restaurant. Buffet service was terrible. Many items were gone and not replaced. Serving tables dirty and messy. Food that was still available was picked over and cold. Waiter was very good. Overall it was a terrible experience and we will never return to Mission Inn’s restaurants for a special occasion. The prices you charged for this entire experience were criminal, including the $35 to park the car. Restaurant managers should be fired.

    Had a reservation at 1:45 & was told it would be an hour delay. 2 hours later we get called for a table inside when we reserved for seats outside on the Spanish patio. I was told that they were waiting on people to leave when on the email we were told that people get one hour & a half to eat. On top of that, after we got seated the water I received tasted like it had orange juice in it. When we got up to get food, there was no food out for anyone to eat, if there was any food it was the very end of the tray which food was cold. My experience was not worth half of the amount I paid.

    we paid $90 each for a mediocore buffet (3 people). We had a 130 PM reservation but were told when we arrived it would be a 30 minute wait. We were not seated until 245 pm. It was chaotic, understaffed, and poorly organized. A lot of the food was lukewarm. We have enjoyed this venue in the past but never again

    We went to the Mission Inn restaurant for the Mother’s Day brunch, we booked it far in advance and my husband and I were looking forward to taking our mothers. Well it was horrible to say the least…you think the mission inn!! It’s going to be beautiful and amazing, but nope. We arrived thirty mins ahead of our reservation and were told they were running 30-60 mins behind so we went and walked around a bit. When we finally got the text saying they were ready for us, they sat us in the restaurant which was not what we had reserved, we reserved the Spanish patio. When we finally got to be seated on the Spanish patio, we went to get our food at the buffet. It was empty!! There was no food! They kept saying we’re going to bring more out, more food coming…nope. For the price we paid, they had chicken strips and mashed potatoes …a kids meal basically. It was not worth the price at all!! Our server Arturo was very friendly and kind, that is the best thing I can say about this place. Save your money! for the $400 we spent on this brunch we could’ve had a better one at the Cheesecake Factory for a fraction of the price. I will never return there and if you’re reading this review find somewhere else to brunch.

    1 hour delay for Mother’s day brunch - what is the point of having a reservation? Seems like they overbooked and a special day such as Mother’s Day should require more due diligence on their part. Food was also mediocre breakfast for the price. For a party of 3 with fees it was $340 - you figure there would be special items or a chocolate fountain at that price for Mother’s Day but no. We did not eat gold a save money and go to Cheesecake Factory instead.

    I feel really bad for the employees here at Mission Inn, management did a poor job of structuring such a busy Mother’s Day. Reservations were 45 minutes behind and buffet was lacking substance, with minimum and mediocre options. Hostess and waiter were wonderful and had to deal with extremely irritated guests with smiles on their face. Shame on Mission Inn management for not preparing better and allowing your team to go through this.

    It was a prepaid, pricey, event. Upon checking in, we were told to wait an additional 20-30 minutes past our reservation. We did not get sat until 45 minutes post reservation time. It was Brunch Buffet and 60% of items were out of stock and not refreshed on the bar quickly or in some cases never at all. This was a lack luster performance by the Mission Inn especially for the price we paid.

    We waited 45 mins past our Reservation time to be sat. I understand brunch is busy, especially a holiday, but I received emails stating we must arrive 10 minutes early and there's a strict table time limit. If either of these are being enforced, there's no reason to be running 45 minutes late. There were 3 separate lines with no indication of where to actually "check in" which caused frustration from the staff and poor reflection of service. I haven't been to brunch here in about 3 years but it was not nearly as impressive as it used to be. There were small stations that were constantly picked over. I watched people standing at the dessert table waiting for anything to be placed down. There were also no plates at all, at any station, more than once which is absolutely absurd at a $100 buffet. Our waiter was nice and the food tasted good but the variety was not at all what it used to be. Will not be back for these prices.

    The Mission Inn is always a good choice. However on Mother's Day, they ran behind schedule and food for the buffet was slow. Due to the National economy, I am willing to overlook the issues due to the shortage of workers.

    HORRIBLE experience for Mothet’s Day brunch! Our reservation was at 11:30. Didn’t get seated until 12:20. Food was cold, I told 3 different people including Jason the manager about food being cold and people were constantly standing around waiting for food to be brought out. I got up 5 different times just to try to get eggs Benedict. The food selection was slim to non NOT the way the brunches used to be here years ago, such a shame. Jason the manager said today was his 3rd day with the company, let’s hope things change but for me as of now I will NOT be back for brunch. Way too much money charged for cold food and limited items.

    Took my mother for brunch at the Mission Inn and it was a bit chaotic. As requested, arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time and was informed that they were running 15 minutes behind. A 15 minute wait turned into an hour wait. We finally got seated at the Spanish Courtyard and that was the nicest part of the experience as they had a live pianist, and the ambiance was just great. The food selection was good, however, at some point they ran out of plates and food. Had to wait for about 15 minutes for the egg benedicts and other foods to be restocked. So that was annoying as we had already waited so long to get seated. Seemed the restaurant was not prepared for the amount of guests. Perhaps they are better organized during regular Sunday brunch.

    Had to pay in advance, told to arrive 10 mins early (we did) $35 valet parking (cars backed into street), was not seated until almost 45 mins after reservation, table service okay. Ambiance was meh, selection, quality, replenishment, and overall food was far less than expected. Topped off by 20 minute wait for valet to return car and then had to walk through parking lot to street because valet was so backed up . Never again. I gave 2 stars only because it was a holiday.

    Our table was in a bad location right by the lobby. We had to walk with our food while people are trying to check in at the registration desk. And the line to check in for reservations. When we get to the buffet the food trays were empty or almost empty. They didn’t keep up with the food. We had a terrible experience not with the money. We were so disappointed.

    Seating for reservation was not on time. Food was cold on buffet line. Many item on buffet line were empty for prolonged times. Omelet/egg line and Pancake/waffle line were two separate lines both to long. By the time you went through both lines your food was cold and not fit for consumption. Worst dining experience we have here had on Mother’s Day. All 5 of us felt the same and didn’t finish our meals. Would never recommend for such an important occasion. Too many diners, they couldn’t handle it.

    My family attended the Mother's Day Brunch at the Mission. We have eaten here before so had high expectations especially for the cost per meal for the brunch ($89/person). The whole hotel and restaurant was super crowded and it was challenging to move through the crowds to get to the sign-in desk and around the buffet. Once seated, we started at the buffet and found many of the trays of food including eggs and fruit were gone and had to wait for them to be refilled. The omelet bar and waffle/pancake bar was in another room winding around other diners. You had to be in separate lines to get these items and we ended up in the line for about 45 minutes to get a couple of pancakes and then had to stand in line again to get an omelet. This kept us from spending time with our family at the table and also caused our food to be cold by the time we got back to the table. Our waiter, David, was the highlight of the morning as he did his best to tend to us. The last issue was that we had pre-paid for the meal for 6 people and then were handed a bill as if we hadn't paid. I had to look up the receipt on my credit card statement to prove we had already paid. Overall not a good experience and would not go there again for a brunch or Mother's Day.

    It was the most horrible experience ever. To begin with, there was no high chair for my son. The food was always empty. The lines were long. They should’ve provided more stations. Won’t be going back. And on top of it, it was 230 for 2 people. Ridiculous.

    I booked 8:30am reservation - $89 per person (4 people) for the Mothers Day brunch. This will most likely be the last time I attend any brunch hosted by Mission Inn. We arrived at 8:15am and nothing looked like it was set up. We were sat at 8:30am. The server arrived at 8:40 and when we asked about the Mothers Day brunch she explained that the Brunch does not start until 9am, and then flagged down a manager and said "here is another group for the brunch". The manager came over and said "brunch does not start until 9am and if you could please be done by 10am as we are very busy." We were shocked at how rude the manager was as he is giving us a time limit and we cant even start eating because nothing was set up. The server was really nice, and you could tell, she felt embarrassed by the poor management. I attempted to explain that our reservations were for 8:30 and is there anything we could get in the meantime, and the manager looked confused. I asked if we could just order breakfast now and not be charged for the brunch since they were not prepared. The manager said "that is fine, so long as you are finished before 10am". We ordered food and they could not accommodate a grilled cheese for my daughter "since they could only offer limited breakfast items only during brunch". My daughter did not each anything, my omelette was okay and my mom and her friend enjoyed their eggs and sausage. Overall, a terrible unwelcoming experience. What a shame. Thank goodness my mom has a great sense of humor and we all kinda laughed off the experience because of how blatantly horrible it was. Mind you, the server we really nice, it was the management, lack of prep, their desire for us to leave, the mid level limited options for food, and the complete lack of respect which is why we were so disappointment. Highly would NOT recommend to anyone. We were out by 9:15am. I miss TAPS :-(

    We were seated outside as requested but took about 10 minutes before we saw our waitress. Even the receptionist asked if she could have our menus as we replied we had not seen anyone. We did receive hot bread and butter but no place settings. The food was average and it was not what I expected from this restaurant.
