Right in the midst of downtown Riverside, California, is Palenque Kitchen. It is said to have the best Mexican in downtown Riverside. The funky atmosphere features colored lighting, lounge areas and some Mexican art. The private dining area is also ideal to book your celebration or event. The hip and fun staff will help you choose from all the amazing dishes on offer.

Palenque Kitchen serves up authentic regional Mexican cuisine but with a modern twist. Start with one of handcrafted margaritas we offer or a beer if liquor is not your preference. The server spilled water on me. She never checked up on us if we needed anything. We had to ask another server to assist us or to bring us our server. The French toast was amazing

Our server Paolo, had great food and drink recommendations for us. The food came out promptly. The restaurant is located in an excellent location, near parking and other bars and restaurants. Since the restaurant is 'lively', expect to speak louder than normal and the seating was a bit cramped. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would return again.

We came into this restaurant months ago and I ordered the Octopus appetizer really afraid, but it was amazing. We have returned here a few more times and only ordered this again. Last night was not as amazing as we remember it but still delicious. Other than that, one day we need to try something else. lol When My husband told the waitress that he would have actually preferred the michilada over the lime juice beer, I had hoped that she would bring him what he liked better as a kind gesture but I am sure that was just wishful thinking. Maybe just a small amount of tomato juice or asked if he wanted to pay the $1 difference

Good was horrible. Asked for eggs over medium and they were extremely runny. The chilaquiles were super cold when I got them. The meat was so bad that didn’t look or taste like steak . Will not be coming here again

Very expensive guacamole, we should have checked the menu before taking the servers recommendation for a starter, and it was poorly prepared, under ripe avocado, ok food, very loud music.
