This was our third time going to the Mercury Chophouse and every visit has been great. Our server the last two times has been Mike, he has been there I think since at least 2001. He is one of the best best in the business. We’ve been extremely well cared for during our visits. The food is exceptionally good and consistent. We have been too many high restaurants, and the food quality here has been above the others.

Mercury Chophouse is in a nice location. We were going to Bass Hall after dinner and this was an easy walk. My seabass was delicious. My husband was not impressed with his short ribs. Our Brussel sprouts were not to our liking. They were very charred black and oily. The restaurant had an odd smell upon entry. That alone was a disappointment. However, the waitress was good and provided all of our needs.

I recently enjoyed a delightful Valentine's dinner at Mercury Chophouse. The ambiance was elevated with live music, featuring a piano player and saxophone, creating a charming atmosphere. We were first seated in a cut-out that was nice except the light overhead was blinding and there was no way to dim it. So we were moved to another table which was better but in a high-traffic area for wait people. There wasn’t much ambience. The restaurant looked like it could have previously been a diner or sandwich shop and that when current ownership took over, they decided not to change the decor. Our waitress was very good, but absent at times. Our steaks were very good and cooked perfectly. And the wines, while very limited in selection, were very good as well. The meal saved the experience and almost made up for the lack of atmosphere, but we probably won’t go back. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was more than half empty at 8:30 on New Year’s Eve which seemed odd as well.

This is our favorite restaurant but on new years the whole vibe was way off. Rushed everything. Food wasn’t near as good as it normally was. All staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

What a great experience, from the moment we stepped in Shaina, the general manager took exceptional care of us!!! The food and wait staff were excellent as well!! We have found our new, Go To!!!

Filet mignon was fantastic! Creamed spinach was very good as well. Nice cocktails. There was a musician playing piano and singing great songs at the perfect volume. Loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough not to disturb dinner. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Loved it

We were greeted by friendly staff and had our choice of table either near the live piano player or away . We decided to sit near the music and enjoyed the live entertainment. Service was prompt, although the restaurant was out of many of the reasonably priced wines. Almost appeared they were trying to sell out of the higher priced bottles. Food was excellent. They were running the heat on a mild winter evening which made it quite warm in the restaurant. I would return again.

This was our first time to eat at Mercury Chophouse. I have to say that overall our experience was a little disappointing. The primary reason for this disappointment was the quality of service. The food was very good, but service was very slow. In fact, we were unable to eat dessert due to how long it took for the server to bring us the dessert menu and then return 20 minutes later to see if we wanted anything. We had theatre tickets so we had to leave, but 2 hours should have been long enough for a meal complete with dessert. I do want to reiterate that the food was very good. Just looking for great service too when you are spending $400 for a dinner for four.

My new favorite downtown steakhouse! The service was excellent, they had a great jazz band (but they weren’t too loud), and the drinks were stiff. What else could you ask for?

Not what you would expect at this price point. Calamari was tough as leather…bread was a small square biscuit. Lamb shank was not edible. The pork chops were very good. The Apple cobbler was just out of the microwave and was too hot to eat for 10 minutes. First waitperson we had not good…the second waiter was much better and cared…just not worth $183 for 2 people. Much better options downtown Fort Worth for a more reasonable price.

My wife and I went here for date night and the food was phenomenal. I had the braised lamb and my wife had the 10oz filet. Braised lamb was unbelievably tender and flavorful as was the steak. Finished the meal with the apple cobbler and crème brûlée which were both excellent as well. This has remained one of our top spots for date night as the food, service and atmosphere is always wonderful. Our only complaint is that it was a little louder than we’ve experienced in the past due to a few birthday parties being held there but that was very easily overlooked by the wonderful meal. My highest recommendations go to mercury chophouse, their chefs and the staff.
