Situé à Eugene, en Orégon, le Marche a ouvert en 1998. Pouvant accueillir 80 personnes, le restaurant possède une cuisine ouverte agrémentée d'un magnifique four au feu de bois. Il dispose également d'un bar élégant ainsi que d'un grand coin repas extérieur, recouvert d'auvents et de parasols, et entouré d'un jardin d'herbes et de fleurs comestibles. Le Marche tire son nom du mot français "marché", ce qui décrit parfaitement l'emplacement de l'établissement dans la rue animée 5th street Market, et plus important, sa philosophie culinaire. Le menu du Marche se compose uniquement d'ingrédients que n'importe qui peut trouver sur un marché : des produits frais, régionaux et saisonniers. Ainsi, la carte évolue au fil des saisons. En outre, il ne vous proposera que des aliments sains de haute qualité, comme des produits biologiques, élevés en plein air et sans produits chimiques. I normally go with whatever lamb dish is in season (I had the Lamb Navarin recently) , but this time I tried the portobello mushroom sandwich. It was incredible. Everything was on point, delicious, fresh, and excellently prepared. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and Mother's Day, and Marché helped make it memorable. Although I understand that quality comes at a price, I really wish the beverages had more volume. A lot of space is taken up by huge block ice cubes. Our waiter was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We'll be back.

Unfortunately we didn't have a very good first experience. The service was poor. There was one large party and the rest of the place was pretty empty. Took way too long for everything, from drinks to starters and entrée. It took so long u ordered a second appetizer why waiting. The entrées were ok. We got the lamb and the pork tenderloin. Neither one was too amazing. Just not worth what we paid.

Very nice setting. Food was well done with one exception. Salmon was raw in the middle. The Jean Chauvenet wine was mediocre. Better to have a Bouchard or Faiveley Birgindy.

Service was terrible. Food was cold on arrival. Took forever to get first round of drinks ordered (40 minutes despite multiple queries). Seated in the bar even though we had a minor and reservations. No one asked. Loved this place before but not so much now. May be back.

Hold standards. Add some expensive wines to your list- high margin wines. Raise your prices a notch as a test. You have no real competition.

Marché never disappoints, and this experience was exceptional. Our server, Bill, was the perfect coda to our music-filled afternoon at the Hult Center, and the food was superb. Delightful service, delicious food, all-around deloverly dining experience.

The Marche is within walking distance of the Hult, making it a perfect site for a meal before evening entertainment. The menu is wonderfully diverse, tailoring itself to satisfy a wide range of discriminating tastes. Two observations regarding our otherwise outstanding meal - the cheese appetizer was lacking in fullness, and one in our party of four described it as "skimpy." Second, the lamb dish, while delicious, contained undetermined vegetable slices that were raw and resistant to the dinner knife and should have never been released from the kitchen.. Either steaming or boiling would have most likely made it palatable.

As always, Marche never disappoints. We are glad they are open for brunch, at least on the weekends. Please consider returning to weekday morning openings .

Unfortunately, we had poor service. Received our cocktails 45 minutes after we were sat. Appetizer came out and was on the table 15 minutes before we even had a drink. It was not busy in the restaurant. At that point, we cut our losses, paid our bill and left. We are dinner elsewhere.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The half glass of champagne for both of us that was provided to celebrate a retirement was a wonderful bonus. I was somewhat disappointed by slow service when trying to pay the check at the end as I had told the server that we were going to the symphony and our reservation was early enough that it shouldn't have been so rushed at the end.

Such a vibrant, upbeat place to have dinner or just a glass of wine. I often go for the cornbread battered deep fried oysters which are out of this world fresh and delicious.

As a tax preparer celebrating the end of the season and the day before my husband’s birthday this was the perfect day date for us. The staff at Marche is always amazing and they treated the birthday man with some ice cream and a candle celebration. It was lovely!

Brunch : eggs Benedict with asparagus was delicious. Coffee was fresh and hot. Service by Joseph always the best. Ended the meal with Mango sorbet. A perfect place to celebrate my sister’s birthday.

Our server was really quite bad. He started by bringing water and walking away, so we thought he was the busboy. He was slow bringing drinks. He seemed to have difficulty understanding our orders. When I asked that the generous remainder of my beet salad be boxed, he acknowledged the request, but never brought the salad back. When asked at the end of the meal, he simply said he didn't think I had asked for it. During the meal, it was nearly impossible to catch his attention. Everything went so slowly (and we had plenty of time before we had to go to the theater), that there was no time for dessert and coffee. The food was fine, nothing really memorable, although one of the party loved the sausage pizzetta. The server's defects really detracted from the experience. Overall - disappointing.

The Torte Flambe and Lamb Navarine were wonderful, flavorful, came hot and greatly enjoyed. The daily special soup, not so much. This was a potato and carrot soup which could have been wonderful with sweet wintered over carrots, but unfortunately the soup chef added spice that completely covered the wonderful vegetable flavors we have enjoyed in Marche soup for many years. Instead of the complex flavors akin to a fine wine, the only flavor was the sting of spice which drowned out all others. Too bad. I understand this is a “modern” style, but it is hoped that like bell bottom trousers will soon go away. Service from a new server was ok. As always the restaurant was nearly full. I do hope that the soup chef will soon return to the wonderful soups of yore or at least make some without the added heat for those of us who like the rich, complex flavors we used to enjoy. You go too, but ignore the soup until they leave out the heat.

I find Marche hit or miss. I’ve gone and had amazing food and I’ve gone and had a good food but it lacked seasoning. I ordered the carbonara, it needed a pinch of salt, it was a bit bland. It was so much better the next day as leftovers, when I added a pinch of salt and some fresh Parmesan. The green garlic croquettes were good but needed to taste the goat cheese a little more, I mostly tasted garlic. Really nice lemon drop cocktail. If it was more consistent, we would go here more often.

We've been enjoying Marche's food and service since about 2001 when we visited our daughter living in Eugene. These happy meals continued on occasional visits thru 2008 when we settled in Eugene and became frequent diners at Marche. The food and service have been excellent all these years, which explains why we are repeat customers. The menu which changes with the yearly seasons provides interesting and delicious options to stimulate the appetite. Service is always first-rate. Obviously, we recommend dining at the Marche! Marche management- consider raising your prices as a path to success. You are the last good option in the community. I promise you- most guests look for what they want on the menu and do not select based on price. Ed

Loved the bar menu for its smaller portions. Hidden on the back of the main dinner menu. Awesome steak tartar, pleasantly lemony. Beet salad had an unctuous vinaigrette. Great frites.

I drive down from Portland at least once a month and the highlight of my trip is always Marche. I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years and Marche has always hit the dining experience out of the park for me. I happen to be very particular about dining out. I love to cook so I seldom eat out. When I do, I set high expectations. Marche exceeds my lofty expectations every time.

My 17 year old daughter and I thought Marche was so delicious that we ate there 2x during our 4-day stay in Eugene. Our first visit started out rocky...nobody stopped by our table for about 10-15 minutes; however when I brought it to the hostess's attention, we got service above and beyond! The manager personally helped us and made outstanding recommendations. The food was plentiful for the two of us and the wine, cocktail, and non-alcoholic beverage selections were excellent. We got the goat cheese and rice croquettes, French bread (could have skipped this), the beet salad, asparagus pizza, and a side of new potatoes. Each dish was perfectly prepared maintaining the freshness of each ingredient. We are still talking about that meal and how we can re-create it at home. We also enjoyed Marche for brunch where we had beignets which easily compete with NOLA(!), the mushroom nettle goat cheese crepe with an egg on top (out of this world delicious...I'm not sure I even chewed it so much as inhaled it), and a simple French herbed omelet so well crafted that the eggs were elevated to a new height. We can't say enough great things about this restaurant. We highly highly recommend. The menu is seasonal...so be prepared that it might differ from what you see online or even had last week. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

I had the petrale sole and loved it. Not too fussy and tasted very fresh. Fries were great too, as was the aoli. Highly recommend it!

Friendly, elegant without being pretentious and delicious. I loved the care that went into each dish by the chef and waitstaff. Drinks were top tier as well.
