Was a tad too loud to have conversations, but we did intend to come on jazz night so that was to be expected. Great ambience and service. Food was very rich if that is what you like.

Space is beautiful and ambience is lively and loud. Staff was not attentive and forgot to bring a birthday dessert after being asked at the beginning of the meal. Maybe they were just having a bad day. Food is not memorable but the cocktails are lovely.

The food was eh and for the price of the food was too costly. I have no problem with expensive food, but it should it also taste like the price. The best part was the employees giving water which was great. Great water refillers. It was also my wife’s birthday and they did a great job attending to her and even offering great desert. It was also very noisy. The steak my wife ordered was just fair. Nothing too great. I ordered gnocchi was yummy. The drinks was fire. Overall, definitely not coming back here unless they re do the menu with better tasting food. I’d only come back with friends.

I had a great time celebrating my birthday this weekend. Our server Brittany was so friendly and efficient, and made sure l felt celebrated. I received a complimentary cake which made the experience very special. Our food was amazing and the drinks were really good too!

Had an amazing time with friends and family celebrating my bday. All the alcoholic drinks we ordered were delicious. The food was great. The only two items we didn’t enjoy were the lattes and the enchiladas. Service 10/10. Will come back.

Cute spot, music was nice, service was good overall. We weren't tended too enough to receive water refills when needed. Also a bit bummed that this was a birthday celebration dinner, as was noted in our reservation, but the house staff did not acknowledge it. The meal was good. We started with the Portobello fries and tomato & burrata - both lovely. For dinner, we had the chicken kabob skewers and chicken piccata. Kabobs were cooked well, but not seasoned as I would have expected. The flavor was a bit bland for me, however the rest of the items on the plate were great. We will most likely return next time we're in SD

We went on a Saturday around 12 pm, ordered brunch. I ordered chilaquiles and my husband ordered papas locas. The chilaquiles were extremely soggy and dry, barely had any salsa on them. I ordered a brown sugar cinnamon latte that tasted like milk with ice.. our server was nice and the mimosa was good but don’t recommend the food.

Went to Madison for my friend’s birthday. The food and service are outstanding. If you go on Tuesday for live Jazz, keep in mind it is very loud and difficult to talk at the table. But 100% recommend this restaurant.

We ate inside, which still has plenty of fresh air coming in, and the plentiful heaters kept it from getting too cold. It made for a very nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, with fresh ingredients and clever combinations, and the service was attentive. The only negative thing was the band that night had their amp volume up to a nearly painful level, but I would return.

My only complaint was that I was too full to completely clean my plate. From the greeting at the door to all the service staff to the fantastic music, it was a great experiene.

The service was really poor-we waited for our food a very long time and it didn’t come out all at once. The Papas Locas was cold when I got it. Was not anything special.

The ambiance, menu choices, and food are great. It is quiet early on and then a great jazz band played around 7pm. I highly recommend.

My girl ordered the gnocchi which was the best I had ever tasted. I ordered the pork chop which was cooked perfectly BUT I felt for the price it lacked real flavor or seasoning and the texture of the crust was drowned out by the balsamic. I got it replaced with the ravioli which was very tasty however small about 5 ravioli. (170lbs for reference) The ambiance was perfect and they had jazz night. Also didn’t have a chance to order dessert but it looked appetizing

Brittany was an AMAZING server. And the coffee person moved like a ninja, with our cup being magically filled without even being noticed. Kind of amazing actually.

It was loud and cold and took away from the experience. I had to yell in order to be heard. That was exhausting and will be a deciding factor whether to go again. Such potential, otherwise. They need to get some soundproofing so it’s not so echo-y and more heaters.

We had a great meal last night before a play. The food was interesting, well balanced, flavorful and beautifully plated. Our waitress Hannah was outstanding. All in all a great experience. I would highly recommend Madison. Thank you.

Food was okay at best. The skirt steak was tough and cold and the Burrata and tomatoes were flavorless but okay? But most of all the zucchini was 17 dollars and 7 very skinny sticks that were dismal but the sauce had great flavor but we still love the look of this place and the staff. So all in all you should also love the food! We live in the neighborhood and always want to support local businesses but please save yourself by changing the menu and keeping it fresh and delicious. Please

This place is a hidden gem in SD. Like wow! We went for the Tuesday night jazz and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing, all the staff was so nice and accommodating. Definitely a great little date night. The food was just amazing! I had the Pistachio Pesto Pasta and I couldn’t stop eating it. I also had some amazing cocktails. Definitely worth going, and if you want a free Jazz concert with your meal go on Tuesday or Saturday nights.

This was our first time at any restaurant in that area of the city. The food and service was fantastic! We’ll be going back. The inside seating was a bit noisy, but outside was great. We could carry on conversations without the need to shout.

The area and ambiance were fantastic. I had the pork chop, which was cooked perfectly - very tender, juicy, and crispy crust. However, the season level was bland. Overall, great place, would go again (and would recommend), but I would ask for salt and pepper next time. The lack of a kids meal was also challenging for my family of five (had to go to McDonalds afterward).

I am from Ventura and didn’t know the street or the restaurant. It’s excellent! Of strongest note was the excellent service by our cap-wearing server. He explained menu items and was super prompt in helping when wine spilled. He contributed to a great evening- I wish I could remember his name.

I had high hopes for this place but they did not meet expectations. Mt wife and I had brunch reservations this morning through Open Table. First tip, no parking anywhere close by. Be prepared to park on the street in a residential neighborhood and walk a couple blocks. Then the hostess was the rudest hostess that we have ever encountered, no smile, no friendly warm greetings, just a snappy "what's your name!" The restaurant was empty. Only one table out of 25 was filled. Not sure why we even needed reservations. Although all the tables were empty, the hostess deliberately sat us at the only table in direct blinding sunlight. We asked to move tables. Then the hostess brought up another party and asked us to move tables again so the other party could sit at our table, the hostess did not sit them in the blinding sun. Strange. Then the hostess sat all the customers next to each other although the rest of the restaurant was empty. We ended up having to listen to the vacant vapid conversation of some trust fund kids whining about daddy's money. While 20 other tables sat empty. Get a new hostess. Thankfully, the waitress was absolutely the opposite from the hostess, friendly and smiling, engaging in conversation. The menu was sparse with choices and "no substitutions" the menu had maybe ten choices for entrees. With such a limited menu, maybe they should allow substitutions. I ordered a Bloody Mary and chilaquiles. My wife ordered a hot chocolate (off menu) and the basic breakfast. I was waiting for my drink and The waitress said the Bloody Mary was waiting for the garnishes. When the Bloody Mary arrived, the garnish was 2 olives. I was waiting for 2 olives. The chilaquiles were okay, the carnitas on top were too much and bland, just tasted like roasted and shredded pork. My wife's meal was okay, the breakfast potatoes were bland and the hot chocolate was more like a mocha without the coffee. We still tipped very well because the waitress made up for the rude hostess

This is an absolutely stellar restaurant. We appreciated the novel open-yet-warm interior and the warmly professional servers, but the star is the fabulous food. Every single thing we ate was phenomenal: the crisply delicious portobello fries, the citrus salad (minus onion per our request), pistachio pesto pasta, chicken piccata, and my extraordinary cioppino (the best I’ve ever eaten). Our dessert was their sensational churro waffle. We will definitely be returning!

This is a cool restaurant to visit for a change, so get out of your neighborhood and check it out.We went for dinner before a performance at the Cvic Center and enjoyed the comfortable yet lively vibe. The cocktails and food are great so overall it was a fun experience. We will definitely return.
