Party of 6, last weekend. Locals, been going to Lula for 25 yrs. Ear-shattering decibel level on back patio and all indoor eating areas. Wandering musicians were ear-shattering loud too. We were literally yelling at each other and couldn’t hear each other at all the whole time there. This was beyond fun and festive - it was ridiculous and a turn off. Lula’s is off the rotation for awhile

Yummy with great service! I love the tacos the margaritas and the chicken enchiladas amazing. The chips were delicious. Love the guacamole.

We’ve been going to Lula’s for years. But something was off since our last visit. Menu changes, price hikes, and declining quality. Apparently, new ownership and chef have taken over, and sad to say, we will not be back.

My only complaint is that tamales are no longer on the menu. I've been coming to Lula Cocina since it opened and these were my favorite item. I was very disappointed when they were taken off the menu and delighted when they returned. But they are gone again and they are sorely missed. Surely, in a city like L.A. with a large Oaxacan population, a good tamale maker can be found.

The warmest welcome in all of Santa Monica. It was like coming home. Wonderful ambience, attentive staff, superb food. Every member of our party of 8 is was delighted with their choice of dinner. Lula’s, thank you for the best night of our entire trip. We’ll be back!

Lively, colorful restaurant with nice ambience. Unfortunately, the food is fairly underwhelming, especially for the price. My lime chipotle shrimp burrito was bland. Additionally, I ordered it wet and it arrived with barely any tomatillo salsa on it and 10x the amount of cheese I would expect on a wet burrito. My dinner date’s was bland and underwhelming as well.

We always enjoy our visits to Lula’s- the ambience, the food, and most of all an amazing staff. Last nights 32nd Anniversary event was fun, informative, and the dinner was absolutely delicious. The free flowing margaritas, wine, and the Patron Tequila tastings put it over the top.

This is the best Mexican bar and restaurant in Santa Monica. The new chef has upped the food offering to a higher level, and the combination of classic Lula Margaritas with new offerings of high quality Tequilas and Mexican wines are truly outstanding. Along with great staff and a local vibe which makes Lula a wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy. Highly recommend!

One of our most favorite spots. My blood pressure goes down as soon as we arrive. And we love the new menu!! The burger is delicious and the sweet potato burrito is a new fave! The skinny margarita is the best in town.

Sorry to hear your negative thoughts about our famous Lula Margs. We offer the most potent cocktail in the area. In other words, our Lula's and their ingredients cost more to make than other water downed versions one may find elsewhere.

Lula has a new chef and menu which goes beyond the standard Mexican fare in delicious directions. My business colleague dinner date had the duck enchiladas and was very impressed. I had the chicken mole which was a very generous portion, rich and delicious. As a starter, we shared their new watermelon salad ~ clean and refreshing start to the meal that tasted great with our margaritas. I will be back.

We had dinner on their patio. Love the ambience. Has an old fashioned cafe feeling. The patio is enclosed and the roof is open. There’s heaters at every table. The service was excellent. We shared fajitas and that was plenty for two. It was bustling and a bit loud but not where we couldn’t hear each other and it was a a Saturday night at 7:30! I recommend eating in their back patio!

Some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had! The margaritas were fantastic, and we tried a variety of different dishes and they were all delicious. If you have room, we highly recommend the flan for dessert, it was so good!

The food is delicious and it was a lively crowd as the Laker game was on - not a good outcome,but it was better for being there. Staff was excellent.

Just another terrific meal and a terrific restaurant. I do miss how much more robust the menu used to be. But the overall ambulance and quality of food and quality of service all remain as high as ever.
