We got there when it was a little busy. It took 20 minutes for my drink to be served. Our waiter was not attentive to us at all. We told him at one point we were ready to order. He said he would be right back. That he wanted to greet a table that was just seated. That table had drinks and seemed fine. 15 minutes later… he finally takes our order… but in a hurry. He was rushing off before my date was finished ordering. Then some random guy asks if we were waiting for a drink from the bar. I said yes. He said he would be right back with it… never saw him again. Still no drink. Finally the manager checks on us. I told him about my drink. Finally he brings me one. It was the wrong one! I drank it anyway! lol He then brought me the right one. There was a large party in the front room close to us. They were very loud. Just thought it made more sense for them to be in the back room. Otherwise the food was really good and we’ll Be back!

Excellent choice of dishes! Atmosphere inside is vintage old western. We actually sat outside on the patio and it was great!

Upstairs dining room was very loud, but food was exceptional!! Wine cellar dining is much quieter.

The best dining experience my wife and I have ever had was at Lonesome Dove 13 years ago. We were hosting some guests from the West Coast in our home over the previous week, and they insisted on taking us out their last day in town. We had told them about Lonesome Dove, and they said that's where they wanted to take us. We cautioned them on the price point, but they were anxious for the experience, eager to thank us for the hosting, and not concerned about the cost; so we made Sunday evening reservations and headed to the Stockyards. Everyone had something different from the Wild Game Fettine, so it was a great sharing experience as a launch point. No disappointments here! The First Course had highs and lows. The Deviled Gulf Coast Blue Crabs and Wild Boar Ribs were the highlight, while the Rabbit Ragu Gnochi was described as "sturdy" (think REALLY al dente) by one of our guests and the Kangaroo Carpaccio Nachos were underwhelming as a cold dish. Most of us had the Bowl of Texas Red chili in the Second Course, and everyone added salt to it. The Main Course lived up to expectations. Three of us had the 9 oz Beef Tenderloin and LOVED it. My wife RAVED about the Diver Scallops, and even game me a little taste. The presentation, temperature and overall experience were what we had hoped for. I had the Warm Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake for desert, and that was also over the top awesome. So much so, in fact, that the rest of the table kept dipping into my dessert! One of our guests speaks with animated hand gestures, and spilled his drink. The staff was unoffended and courteous, but they left the drink mess on the floor, and our other guest wound up cleaning it up. Now, I'm the first guy to clean up my own messes; but, at this price point, I don't think it's too much to expect some quick clean-up service after an accident. Noise was moderate, so that we could have a conversation easily. The ambiance was nice, except for an occasional blast of light through the open door.

Adam was our server. His professionalism and knowledge of the menu was amazing. He recognized immediately one member in our party had a gluten & dairy allergy. He quickly grabbed a different menu for them. Adam was attentive throughout the night. Our food: Bison Ribeye steak and oysters. Delicious. Best steak I've ever had and I have dined at Del Frisco's, Capital Grill, Neighborhood Services and other fine dining--this was beyond any of those. Definitely will be back and will be bringing others

We had an incredible anniversary meal. Adam our server was outstanding & very knowledgeable. The food was cooked to perfection and the wine selection was wonderful. 10000/10 recommend Lonesome Dove!

First trip to the Stockyard area and we’re were directed here by a local bar tender. Loved the atmosphere, service and the food was great.

Tenderloin was not cooked medium rare, it was more on the rare side. Elk burgers were changed since we have been there. They were very rare too and it was more roll than anything. Fish was ok.

Great place for lunch in the Stockyards! The elk sliders were incredible and I'll e back again for some more. Kyle was a pro. Outstanding service.

Good ambiance if you like it being in character to its name. Menu looked amazing. The wild boar ribs were very tasty but a bit light on meat. We did the Tomahawk Ribeye for two (medium), and it showed up very rare. We should have asked it to be cooked more but the waiter had already sliced it. For a 5 star steak house I’d have expected him to send it back to the chef rather than slice the entire thing and serve it way too rare. A simple meat thermometer in the kitchen should have prevented the whole thing. Fries were good. For a $200steak they should have done better.

First time eating at Lonesome Dove. Food and service was excellent. Oscar, our server, took the time to explain the menu and give his recommendations. Grace, one of the managers, checked on us and other patrons to ensure that everything was to our liking.

Amazing food, definitely not a place for a vegan. You come here to eat meat, lots of options of meat. Vegans, stay away. Again, AMAZING FOOD!!!

I've been here many times. But this weekend marks 2 of the worst experiences I've ever had. Why did I come back? For the tenderloin & convenience to Billy Bob's. But now that I've had 2 separate and awful experiences...you won't see my face again. I had reservations for 8:30 PM. I was on the dot at 8:25 PM. I was told to "just hang out they're getting your table ready." OK sure. Then the fun starts. A group of 5 walk in & they're checked in & seated BEFORE me & their reservation wasn't until 8:45 PM. But hang on...this is important. Their reservation was for 6 people. Mine was for 2. I finally get seated at 8:45 PM. The waiter comes over at 8:55 PM & wants to 'start my order' but asks where my 2nd person is. I tell him she's running late & he tells me "I can't start your order until all parties are here." And walks off. Excuse me? I just watched drinks being served to the table of 6 minus 1. The other hostess must have seen the look on my face because she came over & asked if I was OK. No...I'm not. I explained to her what just happened. She sends the manager over. I explain to him what just happened. Oh "that is not acceptable. I will personally make sure you are taken care of." Those are famous last words. I get a new server. What I don't get is a wine or my order taken. At 9:10 PM when I flag down 'new server'...I tell him my wine order & that I'm ready to order my dinner. Off he goes. Someone else shows up with my wine order. Then someone else with a different wine. Then a 3rd person with another wine.None of them mine. I flag down another server at 9:15 & order my tenderloin. Cold rare. At 9;30 the table next to me asked if I ordered any food because they had gone through 3 appetizers & a Bison rib eye. They were seated at 9:00 PM. I finally got my order at 9:45. I scarfed it down like a mad woman because Travis Tritt started at 10:00 PM. An hour & 45 minutes to get a meal is entirely unacceptable. I was still eating when I asked for my check.

The food is always outstanding. The service was below par. I had a reservation yet they seated me at the bar. It was 20 minutes & I went to the hostess to ask why I wasn’t seated. She said she didn’t know even though my table was ready 15 minutes prior to me asking. Server was non-attentive to me but very attentive to tables with more guests. I should have stayed seated at the bar except that you sink down in the seats & the counter was at my neck. Not conducive to cutting a steak. I know see how children feel.

Perfect for a night out! Unique cocktails, appetizers to start and all the meat and game you could hope for from a Tim Love establishment! Highly recommend the bison ribeye and the chocolate ancho cake A great Texas experience right in Downtown Cowtown!

Lonesome Dove is a Fort Worth staple and never disappoints. My only dig is the wine markup. It's higher than it should be, like 3x retail or more. I fervently wish America could figure out how to eliminate the wholesale model so us restaurant patrons don't have to get gauged when enjoying wine with our dinner. If wine in Europe costs 100 at the market it cost 120 at a restaurant. In America that bottle would cost $250 to $350. Lonesome Dove get a deeper and better priced seller to take your game to 100%.

Would not provide substitutions (minor changes example asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried) to menu for price, terrible parking and must pay for valet, over priced for what you get, not impressed and won’t be back.

Really lovely dinner out on the back porch. Everything was going perfectly until we had an unnecessarily long wait for our entrees and the 2nd glass of wine ordered did not appear until after 3rd request. All said though last a great place and great staff, food!
