Not sure where to begin. No atmosphere, no service, nothing special about the food. One of the worst “nice” restaurants in Dallas. Prices way too high for the quality of food and service. Open table should take them off their list.

OMG I love Local. The chef has been there since it opened. She always comes by your table to greet you. The service is exquisite. The food even better. and, did I tell you that the renovated space is designed in a simple and sophisticated style. I say go eat at Local!

Food was underwhelming, overly salty, and skimpy. Ambiance was like someone visited a hip, high-end restaurant and then described what it was like to his brother-in-law who is a part-time set designer. Also, they don’t have liquor, so those $17 cocktails are watered-down wine. So many better options out there. Best part of the night was deciding NOT to do tasting menu.

I went here with my girlfriend for more of a fancy, dress-up-like date. The ambiance and vibe in the restaurant was very nice. They had dim lights with candles on every table. When we went on 4/20/24, at around 5:45, there was no one else in the restaurant and it added to the romance. I mentioned parking being very expensive ($24) to who I assume was the manager and he was kind enough to subtract it from the total at the end of our meal. Food wise, I got the scallops and they were very very tasty but they were not nearly filling enough for $50. I will say, the ambiance of the place made the prices more worth and it. I’m not someone who really goes to fancier restaurants often, but this was a nice experience. I probably would not come back to this place just for the worry that parking wasn’t covered by whoever was working the next time I went, and it takes quite a bit to fill me up and I’d like to go somewhere to get more bang for my buck! Overall, if you’re looking for a nice romantic night in Dallas, the atmosphere of this place will do the trick.

Everything was perfect. Our server took excellent care of us, and the food was an experience. This Local is truly a hidden gem. We will be back!

I hadn’t been here in quite some time, and decided to bring an out of town visitor in for the chef’s tasting menu. In every aspect, we had a wonderful experience. Thank you Jordan, for your attentive and personal service, and thank you chef, for a perfect meal. What a lovely evening!

The chef surprised us with a deliciously rich amuse-bouche before our meal, an extra dessert and the tiniest most delicious shortbread cookies topped with a fruit chutney with our bill. She visited our table to check on our experience as well. Everything was delicious. We can recommend the fried green beans, the short rib, the sea bass, the beets, the brussel sprouts, the risotto, and the spice cake!

Hadn't been to Local in a while so wanted to give it a try since previous experience was really good. Went on Saturday night at 6:45 - they were understaffed, sat at our table 20 minutes before we even got water. Server was also manning the bar so drinks came about 10 mins later. Decided to try the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Of the 8 courses 3 were pretty good the rest were average to below average. For the price paid it was definitely not worth it and the overall experience left us disappointed to say the least. There were only about 4-5 tables occupied when we were there, and it still took over 2.5 hours to complete the service. Doubt we'll be going back and wouldn't be surprised to see them close if things don't improve.

Fried Green Beans, Roasted Beets, Salmon, were all exceptional. Service was responsive and attentive. Atmosphere was vintage Deep Ellum. Only downside was the website offer of Rudolph's parking lot as a safe parking place. Came out to a double booted car. When inquiring with the restaurant staff about the website directions, they said they were sorry to have not updated the website. So that was an additional hour spent in the lot waiting for the boot to be removed and an additional $150 to the bill for the evening.

I think we just caught them on a bad night. They were way understaffed and only had two waiters for the whole restaurant and one of the guys also had to play bartender. It didn’t look like there was a manager on duty and they were missing things left and right. We got the pairing experience and they missed some of the wine.

The food was good and they took care of my gluten free needs nicely. The attention was lovely and the ambience was perfect. However, in my opinion, the tasting menu does not worth its price. The food was good but nothing outstanding. I am from EU and for what I paid I could have eat in a Michelin star restaurant, therefore my expectations were probably not realistic.

We felt very rushed despite an early reservation on NYE and weren’t happy with the value. It was over $600 for 3 people (2 adults, 1 child) ordering just 1 drink for my wife and tap water for everyone else, after parking, tax and tip. It would’ve been cheaper to order 5 or 6 of the full sized dishes and split them between the 3 of us over doing the tasting menu and we would’ve gotten more food if we had. We eat here once a year but the tasting menu price has hiked too high for what you get. Food was delicious but better value needs to be delivered at a $150/pp price point. It used to be $95/pp just a few years back for the identical menu and free parking.

Everything was fabulous. We did the 7 course tasting with wine pairings. The tiny servings were perfect. We almost couldn’t finish the 7th course. Dessert, butternut squash soup, lobster cakes, and sea bass were especially delicious. It was New Years Eve but we were very early because we had a Broadway Musical at 7:30 that was sold out. The location is perfect for Music Hall at Fair Park. It was our first time here, but not the last.

Chef's tasting menu was delightful... Seasoning and flavors were on par and the service was impeccable. Amuse bouche offering of a creamy butternut squash soup was one of our favorite bites of the night, and the lobster cake and seabass dishes were phenomenal. Tenderloin was cooked to perfection and not over-sauced, so the flavor of the beef came through nicely.

Delicious from cocktails to dessert this restaurant is a Deep Ellum must! We had theatre tickets with about and hour and a half to dine before we needed to head to Fair Park and they even did an amazing job of getting us through our courses efficiently without the experience feeling rushed in any way.

Went for the first time before a show at Fair Park Music Hall. Super friendly and fast service. Neat place that was originally built as a hotel. Food was great and well presented. Executive Chef came by at chatted and was very friendly and professional. Very good experience and would be a nice place for a long leisurely dinner and conversation. Only surprise was that they only sell beer and wine. Will definitely return.

We were one of three tables before the Broadway Dallas show Friday night. Otherwise the place was empty. They had Christmasy jazz playing, but you could still hear those at your table. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was attentive.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. Tried it on a whim 10 years ago, and have come back regularly on special occasions to do the chefs tasting. It is such an excellent experience, in addition to being a wonderful meal.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while. Such a disappointment. Service was marginal (forgotten wine, overcharged on check), but the meal was probably the worst we’ve had in years. Cringy oversalted salad, wife’s burger was raw in middle with a tough crust on outside. The table across from us sent their amuse bouche back- ( can you do that with something free?) No.. just move on.

Food was fantastic. Difficult to get to on a Friday evening and we were running late, so we didn't have a chance to hang around and really check things out. Was told it is the best burger in Dallas, so will be going back to try the burger.

Tried LOCAL for the first time last night after a work event and will definitely go back. Food and service was amazing. Steak was fork tender and I would go back just for the butternut squash soup tasting. Can't wait to go back!

Great experience as usual! Only complaint is our waiter forgot to put in our appetizer order and so we ended up basically having it for dessert. Amazing food and ambience!!
