A true gem in the middle of Bed-Stuy. Very classic French cuisine all cooked from scratch from farmers’ products. Highly recommended.

I tried L'Antagoniste for dinner for the first time. I usually go for brunch, and it's been a solid choice for many years on Malcolm X in Bed Stuy. Le canard a l'orange was a highlight, but the other dishes were fairly average (moules, salmon). The service was unusually off during our visit. Our server was openly rude and annoyed while we placed our order. After selecting the meals, I gave her my drink order, and as my husband and daughter were about to place their drink orders, she brusquely walked away and said she needed to place our food order before "she forgot." She came back for a few seconds, which gave us enough time to get my daughter's beverage in, and she walked away while my husband was in mid-sentence to ask about the beer selection (his 3rd attempt). We actually considered just leaving at that point because she didn't seem like she wanted to serve us or be there in general. My general rule is anything $50 or above per person should not result in feeling like you're imposing on your server or testing their patience (or memory!)

Really lovely room, great food, many choices, well prepared and presented. Gracious service by owner and servers. Calm, unhurried, just loves it.

This was a great find! Beautiful gem of a restaurant tucked away in bedstuy. Food recommendations were really appreciated as well as a nice bottle of red wine to pair with our meal. We will definitely come back and highly recommend. Great date spot!
