From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community.     We arrived for an early 5:00pm reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and the drinks incredible. We ordered the Koran chili bbq broccoli, oysters and chicken lemongrass dumplings for appetizers, they were very yummy! Our entrees the Seafood Pan Roast and White Bolognese are two dishes that are lovingly made!! Everything was delicious 😋

    I had the most incredible halibut and my husband enjoyed the swordfish. He was a bit disappointed in his serving but the fish was excellent. He did not care for the Tasso ham that was incorporate into the rice, as the smokiness of the ham spread through the dish. We shared the duck spring roll appetizer… Delicious… And crème brûlée for dessert. The crème brûlée was loaded with vanilla beans. Absolutely fabulous, thank you for another wonderful meal!

    An excellent lunch! Crab cakes were fresh and had a zesty remoulade. Flatbread with Brie & prosciutto was fantastic. The Caesar had a garlicky dressing and crisp romaine. We loved the new decor and expanded bar. We will be back again soon!
